Enjoy indoor dining with the option of outdoors offered with propane foot heaters at 740 Front in Historic Downtown Louisville. Designated historical, 740 is one of Colorado's two oldest remaining saloons; transformed back to its 1904 roots; a traditional American dining saloon with a turn of the century ambiance featuring a magnificent room dominating bar, built in 1880 by the Brunswick Company,. The copper spit trough, once equipped with running water, still exists at the front of the bar. Louisville, notorious for its drinking, gambling, and illegal activities, evidence of the occasional misunderstanding is the .22 caliber bullet hole in the front bar.
The bar offers a selection of craft beers, wines,  handcrafted cocktails and an extensive craft bourbon selection.

    Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing. Clam chowder was our favorite we’ve ever had and the cocktails were perfect.

    I made a reservation on open table and indicated it was for a birthday. The restaurant/server did nothing to help us celebrate the birthday. My husband ordered the Bison ribeye and it was tough. My friend and I ordered the surf and turf and the lobster was horribly over cooked. We ordered 4 desserts and our server noticed they were burnt (crème brûlée) once she sat them at our table. We did get replacements. The restaurant was not busy and we had an early seating. We have eaten here before when the service and. Food was very good. Not the case on either front this time.

    Decent food, but my Ribeye Steak was over cooked and they traded me out with a NY Strip. I called it out to my server, but he didn’t seem to understand the issue. Instead of getting a lecture from the staff, we just went with it to wrap it up and paid ribeye prices for a NY Strip. We were already exhausted from waiting for the main course. So I just went with it, being last to eat. Needless to say, I would not recommend a steak. And I doubt the right steak would have changed my opinion. Bland and grey steak with parsley… nope. It’s similar in taste to a Texas Roadhouse, but twice the cost. Everything else was really good. So not all bad. Just go back to the drawing board on the steak gents.

    This is only the second time I've eaten at 740 Front St. but both times have been outstanding! I had the oysters on the half shell and the filet and lobster with creamed spinach. For dessert, I totally enjoyed the chocolate panna cotta. We loved happy hour and came early for our reservation so we could partake of their delicious house Old Fashioned. Delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff could not have been more attentive. It won't be long before I come back, no doubt!

    Great food and unique atmosphere. Servers very nice but we did have to call servers over twice during our meal bc the server didn’t check on us quick enough.

    Amazing food, had the salmon well prepared and so tasty and meatloaf also very good with best mashed potatoes ever. Had cherry pie alamode also amazing. Roxie was great server and knowledgeable of menu.

    First time here. Had reservations for outdoor dining, wished I had done inside instead as the ambiance was better. Service was good, waiter was attentive but bemoaned about the current state of affairs due to covid a bit too much. Also food came out extremely late, however they remedied the mistake by comping the food portions and brought out free dessert without me having said a word. So I will be back to dine in again as the inside is really nice looking and the food was good enough. I had the burger with fries and it was good but burger was well done, wifey had the crab salad and said she liked it. Also waiter said the owner would stop by the table but never did.

    Location was easy to find. We learned the space was remolded and the work & taste they added to the restaurant if very tasteful, thoughtful and appropriate. My wife and I were recommended to eat here by a client who knows the owner. We were able to speak with the owners (Robin and Fred) and it was a great conversation, pleasant to get to know a little about them. Our waitress Lisa was spot on in her service and recommendations for our meal. We came to celebrate my wife's b'day and the staff we interacted with were sure to wish my wife a happy birthday. We will be back and will recommend highly.

    Super easy booking! Just a few hours before arriving, restaurant was expecting us. Food was delicious it was my bf's bday and we even received dessert on the house! Perfect night! Outside seating was cozy and comfortable.

    Weekday business dinner with a out of town visitor. 740 Front is my favorite restaurant in Louisville. The cheese dip was excellent, as always. I had the buffalo filet and the unwedged salad, both excellent, as was the Creme Brulee My visitor enjoyed as well.

    Service and staff were great. Cocktail were spot on. The short ribs was perfect but the lobster tails were a bit dry as they were over done. I'd go back again. Love the history

    A seafood cannoli, a salmon, and an orange roughy were overdone and not tasteful. I had the salmon..... it was a flat pancake that was crispy on the bottom....I scraped the little meat there was off the top. The ONLY reason no one made an issue of the poorly prepared (and costly) meals was because there were only four of us who only meet once a year .... no one wanted to put a damper on the evening by complaining about the food - having them redo it and on and on. The dessert was good!

    A neighborhood gem worth driving to if you live out of the 'hood. Always good, often great, with warm service and hospitality. The most beautiful bar in all the world with over a century of history.

    Excellent all way around. We were out for our son’s graduation and found this quaint restaurant. The service was outstanding. Tom our waiter was a pleasure and the owners came out to greet us. The steaks were prepared to perfection (and we are picky). Drinks paired well. I highly recommend this restaurant. Unassuming from the outside. Magnificent cuisine inside.
