Absolutely would recommend A the steaks and seafood wonderful. -- btw, the chocolate layer cake is 'insane' and I would highly recommend pairing it w/a 'by the glass' Haut Brion ...I promise, you will not be disappointed.
food was very good.. disappointed the martinis were very warm even though they where brought in an ice bucket.. I don't think they were shaken enough by the bartender on the second order I specifically asked the waiter to please make sure they were cold... they were not... When your Birthday dinner is ruined by dry Martini's ....it leaves a bad taste in your mouth

It was a terrific dinner! My only complaint was the side dishes. I guess it's common to burn Brussels sprouts cooked in brown butter. And the carrots were just okay. The clam chowder was heavenly as were the seafood entrees, the bread, and the sorbet.
Abe and Louie's is the best restaurant in Boston!!!

I visit Boston often and every time I go there I make it appoint to make reservations at Abe and Louie’s. This restaurant never disappoints.
As always, the food and service were splendid. Of course, they should be when one is paying premium prices. One pays for what one gets. And A&L never disappoints.
Never disappoints! Ive been a customer here for almost 20 years. I am always impresses with the quality of the food! The bone-in filet is very flavorful. Do t forget tor order the hash browns as a side!
The Caesar salad, fillet mignon, and au gratin potatoes were delicious while the waiter was terrific. I specially appreciated the waiter suggesting we order 1/2 Caesar salads, as the serving was very large. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and a cookie skillet desert was the perfect way to end a most enjoyable meal. Prices are very high, as would be expected at a Boston steakhouse. I'd definitely return, even though the restaurant no longer serves the delicious bread it did last summer. Instead a basket of ordinary bread offerings is served.
Outstanding food and extremely attentive and professional waiter
We split a great steak at Abe & Louis in Boston on fathers day. Sat at bar and Sean was a great server to make our stay more enjoyable. Had a nice red wine from Antinori/Italy
We went to Abe and Louie's for our 35th wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed, what a fabulous meal and staff. We got a special treat for dessert compliments of the restaurant, a great touch and we will be back!
Waiter rushed us right from start. Lobster casserole was deplorable - Abe and Louie’s really?! Lobster was all chopped like dime size and dried up broiled breadcrumbs then fresh on top which was gross and then it was over broiled. I asked for an I getting butter in the side. My husband and son’s filets were fine. Lobster Mac and cheese made poorly with shreds of lobster and a half of claw on top. Cheese had no taste. Garlic mashed were whipped like someone who does not cook would serve. We had sautés mushrooms which were fine. We thought they would be olive oil and garlic and they came out in brown gravy? Also my son would have liked a sofa and the waiter never came back to check on our meals or whether we needed or wanted anything. We can be reached at 781-706-0989 for further comment. We all will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. We have been there several times. I work at the local law office across the street. A shame. I feel badly that our 25 year old son paid $275 I think for a meal that was disgraceful.
As we do every year we had a delicious Father’s Day brunch at Abe and Louie’s and we are never disappointed!! The food is delicious and our waiter Tim was awesome!!! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and on a nice day the windows on Boylston Street are open.
We love Coach Grill, but Abe and Louie's is another story. Service was really slow. Took forever to get our check. The food was only so-so, expensive and luke-warm at best. No one wants cold eggs for brunch and for what you pay, you could have given us a little more steak on the filet mignon eggs benedict. We love Atlantic Fish Co. Love Coach Grill. See what you can do about raising the quality of food and service at A & L's. Can't rest on your laurels anymore. We crossed this once time favorite off the list. Don't think we'll be coming back for more luke-warm food, poor service, and over-pricing. The only good thing was the hand cut fries...I guess you can never go back.
Because it was Father's Day, they weren't serving their regular brunch menu.
Very disappointed! I love the ahi tuna burger and because they didn't have it, I ordered a tuna appetizer.
It was a very small portion and the taste was off- the tuna tasted - very chemical tasting and not fresh. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to spoil Father's Day.
Father’s Day. Brunch. Two in our party ordered steaks, unfortunately they were dry and tasteless. French toast was terrific! Service is always pretty good.

Every time we're in Boston, we make Abe & Louie's a must-stop. Food is terrific and the service is outstanding.
The food was excellent but a little pricey. I get the name is renowned but I've had delicious food that wasn't as costly. I took my husband for Father's day, not saying anything bad I would only visit on special occasion. Sorry

Great food and staff! Decor is a bit outdated and a remodel would help this great restaurant. The one major issue I have is the size of the beverages. For one cocktail $14 the glass is extremely small. There is no perceived value. I know it’s Boston but, cmon guys bigger glasses! Once again food was a 10 out of 10! Cocktails were tasty. My server Yousef was extremely prompt and friendly.
Always delicious steaks and great martinis, also has a browns, and sautéed spinach.
Service warm and knowledgeable. Still the beast Steak joint in city.

The Steak was VERY good, but the sides were pretty bad. Our asparagus was pretty burnt. It was edible, but when you pay $12 for a side, you expect it to be prepared correctly. We had to ask for our wine to be poured 2-3 times. They never removed our empty cocktail glasses.

It has hustle and bustle not intimate or quiet. Tall bartender with a little graying very polite shorter crazy hair guy not so much. been there a long time and was not accommodating with making a new drink. Fppd was good but very pricey.

Average food in served in an extremely noisy and crowded environment. Poor value. For a steakhouse, nothing special about the steak.

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Ordered the Bone in filet medium rare and it was perfect! My daughter ordered Mac and cheese. I never order that at a restaurant but definitely would here.
A&L is always our go to special occasion place. The steaks, salads and sides were great, as always. As was our waiter, however he was not very attentive as he was clearly busy taking care of A LOT of other tables. My drink (strawberry mojito) was the worst I have ever had and we were really sad that the delicious homemade rolls have been replaced by a run of the mill bread basket.
Not at this time. Food was unevenly cooked. Pork chop was way rare. One side forgotten, another au gratin potatoes, bland.
Got the drink wrong the first time
And my ever favorite brought lemons when lime was requested.
This was a bad night for us there. They comped us $50. I’ll try them once more to see.
