30th wedding anniversary trip to Yountville. Servers were very friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable about the menu. Complimentary anniversary dessert was a nice touch and much appreciated
Great overall experience. Delicious food and the staff were terrific.
My girlfriend and I had such a great experience at Ad Hoc. We were previously planning on going to another one of Napa's restaurants but after hearing about Ad Hoc at one of our wine tastings, we were sold on the idea.
We went on Monday's "Fried Chicken Night" which I understand has some local fame in the area. Everything was absolutely perfect. Most of the dishes set new standards for my girlfriend and I on what certain things should taste like. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nicer place to eat that offers tremendous value.
Food(fried chicken ) was great. Was quite loud which was difficult to converse with waiter.
Always sit at the bar. “L” & Jonathon we’re spot on. Great service, wonderful conversation & just plain fun. Fried Chicken Monday is the bomb... creamy Mac & Cheese is awesome. Never leave hungry... Great music too!
Worst dinner experience we have ever had in Yountville. We were the only table for 2 seated in a ‘wing’ of the restaurant that was set up for a large party of about 18 people. We enjoyed our first course (salad) very much. Then the large party arrived. They didn’t sit down immediately and instead used the space around the table as a cocktail lounge - bumping and crowding into my wife. They then got so loud that I could not hear my wife talking. No exaggeration. It killed the experience. We asked to be moved during the main course, but by then, the evening had been ruined. What made things worse was the manager thanking us for being “flexible.” What? Being flexible and open to be moved to another table? We told her that we were the ones that requested to be moved and that being in the other area was hell. We didn’t eat a bit after that as we both had knots in our stomachs, that got even tighter after our conversation with the manager. The manager comp’d our dinners but not the two libations we ordered. I guess that a ruined evening has its limits... but she gave us packaged cookies and her business card. It is too bad. The food looked great but the experience was the worst ever. We stay in Yountville often when we visit so we can enjoy the great restaurants. There are a lot of them. Try all of the other ones first.
It was our first time their and a wonderful experience. The staff was great and the four course meal was
Outstanding. Love the Mac & cheese!
Best value Prix fixe menu ever and absolutely great food. Staff was very knowledgeable about bit only the food but the surrounding area and all of Keller's restaurants on the same block.
Outstanding brunch! Perfect venue to meet friends and celebrate life.
Didn’t sit until 30 after reservation. Everything else was great.
Excellent food, wait staff very helpful - down to earth sort of vibe. Great for a large group as fixed menu cuts out the need for decisions!
We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, yet we all felt like we received a gift that Saturday night. Each dish looked handcrafted, the family style presentation was a step up from our normal holiday family meal. Our server listened, engaged, and helpful. The GM and manager stopped by at separate times to observe, ask, and smile. We talked about each aspect of the meal on the drive home, as well as the next day - uncommon for us. We are already planning other reasons to return and which friends to invite. Thank you, Thomas, for the creation, and staff for the execution!
The food was just okay. We were served toast and mushrooms and cheese, what a weird combination. Toast was not so good, cheese just okay, mushrooms? Sorry I couldn't even. The desert was a blondie that was akin to a hockey puck.
Really noisy, couldn't wait to go.
Great food! come hungry! Food and services was great. One of our meat entrees was over done, we told the sever and they were more then happy to replace. Great service! Love the pre-fix menu.
Birthday celebration was beautiful and amazing
We had the best time! The service was outstanding and the food was exquisite. We went with the set menu and wine pairing. Since it was a special occasion, we splurged with caviar. Did not disappoint! Only negative was that the unisex restrooms were not in good shape. Needed attention but once we brought it to their attention, they acted quickly.
Food & wine pairing were excellent from beginning to end. The short rib melted in our mouths. Yum all around and great service.
Had a terrific dinner at Ad Hoc with family that was visiting from out-of-town. Some of our party had food sensitivities (myself included) and they treated us very well. The wait staff was very knowledgable and checked with the kitchen about ingredients in food and worked to make accomodations for us. Everyone felt well treated and the food was delicious. The wine pairing was especially good.
We came to celebrate a birthday and was excited to to try the waygu short ribs which were the featured dinner item. We got 7 tiny slivers of short rib pieces. We were both very disappointed with the portions and flavors. We did enjoy the tasty salad. The side of cauliflower was the highlight in terms of flavor but again the portions were small. Polenta was creamy and tasty...good portion. We both did not care for the unpasteurized sheets milk cheese with nuts and although the caramel pudding was good, there was a lot of whipped cream but not much pudding.
We also ordered an additional menu item....fish and chip... 5 small pieces of Petrale and a huge amount of just ok fries for $22. The fish was fried in a very thin crispy coating which we thought was good.
We have had great meals here before like the fried chicken and the smoked rib eye steak. We were disappointed tonight and will have to carefully consider menu options in the future. It's just a hit or miss with portions and flavors with Ad Hoc.
Ad HOc is unbeatable...you will enjoy your meal there every single time!
Food was ok. Service is good. Idea of having a fixed menu is great but price is outrageous and noize is not according to the ambient.
You can find better options in the area.
Outstanding experience. Special thanks to Ali, Chris, and the rest of the team for making it a great evening.
Birthday dinner was terrific
Simple food that is seasoned and cooked perfectly; and perfectly paired.
I was slightly disappointed in this place. Their reputation proceeds them and it was my first time eating at a Keller establishment so my hopes were high.
Service: was just ok. I was sent here for work so I was dining alone (which I do a lot) the server didn't seem to know what to do with me. He was very attentive to his other tables, checking in on them and chatting them up, but more or less ignored me (he didn't even check in with me to see how my food was or offer me another drink until I was pretty much done eating).
Food: was fine. I eat out in Napa a lot so my expectations are high. The menu on the night I went was a little disappointing for me and the flavor profiles of everything were pretty simple, too simple in my humble opinion. I just feel like I could have got that same meal (or better) for less money somewhere else. Portions were good. Overall food tasted good.
This place is fine, but there wasn't anything to bring me back or make me recommend it to other people.
Excellent service, amazing food and drinks!
Ad Hoc is such a great concept, the food is outstanding and the service was flawless. The menu rotates daily based on what is in season. You cannot get a better quality meal for the price. We had the arugula salad with Asian pears and beets, fried chicken, polenta with chives, cabbage, a cheese board with honey and chocolate pudding.
We have visited several times in the past few months. We heard how amazing the fried chicken was and decided to bring friends this week. The salad was super delicious. Unfortunately the fried chicken was a lot of breading. We will go back, just not for the fried chicken.
The food is amazing and while simple, the flavors are on point. We added on the lobster Mac and cheese but we didn’t need to bc we had plenty of food to eat. The lobster pieces were significant. However, the star is the fried chicken. Don’t know what it is but they are incredible. Maybe it’s the rosemary and the crispiness is perfect. Mmmm delicious.
I don't know why they served fried chicken for dinner. We drove all the way from the South Bay. Very disappointed.
Ad Hoc has never disappointed us. What a great way to celebrate New Years 2019
We went for New Year's Lunch and really enjoyed the menu offered. Everything was very tasty and we had great service
Incredible way to start the New Year! While visiting the Napa Valley my husband and I were lucky enough to secure a reservation for New Year's Day brunch at Ad Hoc. Unbelievable food and service...not to mention the wine list! It was a perfect start to 2019.
Wonderful food. Wonderful service
Outstanding all around!!
We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated which was a bummer for an otherwise excellent restaurant.
Visiting from Southern CA with 2 small dogs to enjoy wineries and great foods.
Restaurant was dogs friendly, great service, and great foods.
I simple live this restaurant, Thomas Keller live up to this name. Even with this simple family style serving, the food is clean, tasty, simply superb. Love it.
First time to Ad-Hoc. We participated in the price-fixe brunch. We didn’t expect this but the family-style presentation turned out to be a great way to try a number of items. Started with an incredible salad with wide variety of garden-fresh veggies. Continued with the mail course - steak - and sides. The meat was delicious and tender but could have been more plentiful. The “cabbage” was more like sauerkraut and very plentiful. We finished off with individual Baked Alaska’s. Great presentation and very tasty. With one drink each and coffee with dessert, it was about $100 each. Pricey for lunch but great for a special occasion.
Amazing- just go!
