Al Biernat's - Oak Lawn
My favorite server, Joe, wasn’t working lunch when I went this week, but Sean did a great job taking care of us. I order and off the menu salad and it came out just how I requested. As usual, our food was spot and and everything was great. Al Biernat’s is my favorite restauant, but I only wish they had one in Houston!
Al’s is always a wonderful dining experience. We’ve been dining there for many years and will continue. Great menu and kitchen staff, great ambiance, great wait staff with attention to detail. Missed Antonio yesterday!
Ordered an expensive bottle of which what good and although expensive fairly priced for what it was. I did however order an $90 steak, which was overcooked and tough (appeared to have been thawed quickly and rushed to the fire). I am ok with buying speciality beef ie Japanese Wagyu, A-5 grade etc but expect it to be excellent and worth the top dollar. I would not give it a try again . Sorry, love the place and the owner but not a fantastic piece of beef.
This restaurant was recommended for a special occasion. It was outstanding - food was great and the service was over the top!
Love this place-they took really good care of my and my guest for my bridal shower...thanks to the entire staff!
Always great! Our daughter and her family joined us for brunch following church. There are six in their family...two adults, 8 yr old, 6 yr old, 3 yr old, and an eight month old. The kids were well taken care of by Victor-who is one of the very best servers in Dallas.
Al’s is one of our favorite spots and is highly recommended to all our friends.
I recommend the chicken and waffles
Pricey but wonderful as always
Fresh seafood with amazing sauces and sides, great service too. Felt a little too rushed and it was very crowded, hard to get to the exit, but overall good.
Food was excellent, as always. Delicious chopped salad, NY strip, side dishes and the wonderful coconut cream pie. Service which is usually top notch was not very good. Felt like we were rushed and not given much attention by the wait staff. Perhaps overwhelmed due to valentines weekend?
Dessert (coconut cream pie) was more like a Marie callendar freezer ice box pie. Crab stuffed sole was not what I was expecting.. it was not a stuffed fish but crab meat rolled in the skin of the fish. Scalloped potatoes were cubed which I thought was odd. Not what I remembered.
Great Customer Service!
Great food ..... as always. Servicer was Jesus and he was perfect! A memorable meal.
Our first time at Al Biernat's on Oak Lawn, but won't be the last. Very upscale, yet causal setting. The service was exemplary thanks to Joe! Almost too many menu options, something for every taste. Fantastic date night restaurant.
The service was good and the food was excellent. The only issue we had was that my son asked for his ribeye to be boxed up and they didn’t give him the bone that had a little meat on it. My son was going to give it to our dog and when we got home-2 hours away-the bone wasn’t in there and we didn’t know it. He was so looking forward to giving it to our dog. My son was 14.
Food was bland. Steak wasn’t cooked to par and didn’t taste seasoned, Mac and cheese was dry and tasteless, lobster was tough even though it was supposedly flown in from Maine. Spent way more for way less compared to other similar style places and food taste was not passable.
Been here many many times and tonight was exceptional. Wine and food were great and tonight our server was outstanding. See you again very soon
This place has now officially earned our “Go To” place for special occasions. We ate again on Friday night (Valentines). Outside of being out of our favorite wine (they had a very good alternative), the whole experience was top notch. Our server, the wait staff, and the FOOD were all outstanding. Thank you for another wonderful visit!
This is one of the best places to dine in Dallas. The menu is full of attractive and flavorful choices. My only complaint is the noise. Sitting four to a table in the room makes it impossible to converse without shouting. Would I go again, absolutely, but perhaps not on Friday night. Sorry, Al.
The quality of our meal and server were wonderful as usual, however, it was obvious they had a lot of reservations and were instructed to expedite guests through meals as quickly as possible. Things were not coursed properly and I have had longer sit down meals at Chick-fil-A than my experience at Al Biernat’s for Friday evening dinner. At the rate at which they were bringing our appetizer, salad, entree and dessert, we would have easily been on track to finish all in 35 minutes if we hadn’t tried to slow things down. We will be back again just not close to a special occasion (Valentines or other) weekend. Our server did a great job, taking our entrees back to the kitchen and apologized they delivered them at the same time as taking away our appetizers (and prior to salad course!).
My husband and I like to go somewhere for special occasions and we decided to come here for Valentine’s, I must say, it was one of the best restaurants we visited, very happy and we had great time!
Met Al Biernat. My grandson and I had our picture made with him. Carried on a conversation. Very personable. The atmosphere, food and service was excellent.
The food was amazing, and it was a great date with my boyfriend. However, the service left much to be desired. We were seated at a table that hadn’t been prepared, which we were apologized to for but that was just the beginning. We sat at our table without anything more than water for around 20-30 minutes without our waiter coming to take drink orders or check on us. After he did check on us we attempted to order cocktails. The waiter took my order and when my boyfriend didn’t have an exact answer right away he said “you think on that” and left abruptly. Once my boyfriend did order a drink the waiter, once again, walked away abruptly before my boyfriend could even specify the whiskey he wanted to drink, the waiter just assumed. About 30 minutes later, I then had to ask for the wine list since we had never been given one, he said “by the glass, right?” and I had to correct him and ask for the bottle list. After we finally got the point across that we were invested in the meal the service improved slightly however we were never given a desert menu and the over all experience of the service seemed very sub par. I have friends and colleagues who dote on this restaurant constantly, so much so that I was given a gift card from a close friend who wanted to share her love of the restaurant with me and my date. Instead, while I was very please with my food, I was heavily disappointed in the service.
Great! Valentine's day was busy but the service was amazing!
Exceptional steak, whipped sweet potatoes are insane and the peanut butter pie!! Heaven.
From Jessie, to Natalie, to Antonio it is ALWAYS a pleasure to dine here. Our favorite place.
Al Biernat’s is always one of our favorite places to visit! We went for Valentine’s Day and I have to say, we had by far the BEST experience!! Our waiter was by far the best waiter we have ever had! (Jesus was his name) He will forever be our waiter. His attention to detail was impeccable and he made our 9 year old daughter feel like a princess. The food was spot on and they never make a bad cocktail. Al Biernat’s will continue to be our go to place!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening starting with the atmosphere & drinks at the bar. Our waiter was very professional & charming. We have already planned a return dining experience.
We came on Valentine’s Day for lunch. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter and wait staff were friendly. We didn’t know about the specials until we had the menu for several minutes and had already made a decision. No biggie because my husband actually chose the special :-)! We weren’t offered a wine list but alcohol was clearly being served. I had to ask for the vegan menu twice but our food did not take long to come out. The food was delicious!! One of the owners came by but it was really quick and he clearly spent more time at other tables. We would’ve gotten dessert but they didn’t have any vegan options. I was offered raspberries with a smile lol! I am so happy they have a little something for everyone so neither my husband nor I have to sacrifice. Just need to round out that menu with a vegan sorbet or something. Not bad for the price and options. Would stick with an early lunch due to limited parking.
Al Biernat's never disappoints! The food, the service and the atmosphere are always on point! It is one of my favorite "go-to" restaurants in Dallas. The menu choices show something for everyone, and the extensive wine list is impossible to beat.
Is consistently great-- service, food, ambience. Love it for business meetings. The menu has a great range of options. The service is right on -unobtrusive but attentive and responsive.
We're out of towners but returned to Al Biernat's after our first visit about five years ago. The food and service are still very good but not quite as excellent as we remembered five years ago. Still above average but think they're pricing is a bit steep.
Everyone from the hostesses (Lexus) to the bar tender to our waiter (Jeff) to our bus boy went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The service was as good as it gets.
We had the special steak from a local cattle farmer. It was one of the finest steaks ever.
My boyfriend and I visited during Sunday brunch for his birthday. The delicious fare, (OMG! The Chocolate bread pudding!!) and commendable service made for a great celebration! We have designated this as "our spot".
Although the food was delicious and the wait staff was attentive, I felt rushed during the entire meal. We received our appetizer within 8 minutes of ordering and our entrees within 10 minutes. I'm glad the food wait wasn't on the other extreme, but at a nicer restaurant like Al Biernat's, I don't want to feel rushed and like the table needs to be turned over.
Our server was outstanding. The meal was good. The sides were not as hot as I'd like. The wine was excellent. Loved the round table booth for our party of 6 to converse easier. The overall volume of the restaurant is fairly loud.
Had a great first visit! We’ll definitely be back.
