   I was expecting more from this restaurant, starter of beef carpaccio was smothered in parmigiano cheese which took away the flavour of the beef. Main course of venison was excellent, cooked perfectly but it was over seasoned and the sauce was very salty. A real shame as the presentation and quality of the food in general was good. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and seems a bit clinical, toilets could do with a good clean. Overall ok, but it seems over priced for the final end result. £152 for two people 2 drinks each , starter, main & pudding.

   I enjoyed my visit but the noise level is quite high as it has a low ceiling—-I also feel it was quite expensive although I appreciate it’s location is a factor!

   Food was excellent. Portion size was just right and the staff were on the ball throughout our meal. It was a nice touch to have different members of staff serve the food and we managed to get put in the halo room, which if you have a group of 4 and like a cosy room, I'd highly recommend this.

   The food was very good and the server was excellent . Prices were a bit expensive. The main complaint was the atmosphere. It was loud and brightly lit with very little decor. We went for our anniversary because it was listed as a 'romantic' restaurant. There was nothing romantic about it.

    We had a fabulous meal here last night. The staff were really friendly and attentive, without being too much. The food presentation and the combination of flavours were fabulous. The venison and the pistachio and olive oil sponge were particular highlights for us. We can’t wait to return and try some of the other dishes :)

    We enjoyed a lovely dinner last night and sat at a booth near the front door. It is a quiet area which was nice, but sadly no atmosphere at all. I’d recommend for the food and service which was great, but that’s all

    Service is great and food is OK but typical of premises in that part of Edinburgh Old Town the venue is a collection of small rooms making it difficult to generate an atmosphere and with limited 'soft furnishings' there was a bit of an emptiness to the atmosphere

    It's been a few years since my last visit, and unfortunately I was somewhat underwhelmed. I was excited to take my friend for Lunch on a dry Saturday in January, looking forward to lovely treat. I would say that the Waiting staff were absolutely lovely. I don't know if we were just unlucky with our table through the back, but there was absolutely zero ambience, and freezing cold marble type table tops. The food was nicely presented, but luke warm. Wine is overpriced. £100 for a wee lunch for two is a bit steep we thought. Disappointed I'm afraid.

    The food was very good but pricey. We had 1 starter, 2 mains, and a bottle of wine, which came to £92, and we didn't choose the most expensive options. Otherwise, it was excellent.

    This was our first visit. Recommended by friends. The waiter was attentive, the food was delicious. The tables are well spaced out, allowing private conversation. The carpet mats on the way to the toilets needed hoovered. The toilets didn’t flush. A bit more attention to detail required here. We had to ask for salt and pepper. Small points but made the difference between very good and outstanding.
