What Insiders Are Saying
A.O.C. in Beverly Grove is fancy and sexy and serves top-notch French food as well. Your sex life can thank us later.
Wonderful food and great service.
Great atmosphere, food was good but the potions were too small, and the price are a bit high.
Decided to come to celebrate my husband's birthday based on reviews. We were not disappointed! Everything was excellent.
What a pleasant space to spend a relaxing lunch. The wait staff seems to be enjoying themselves and provide excellent guidance. The food was excellent and the wine selection perfectly matched to the food. In short a real great place to dine at and enjoy a relaxed time.
Excellent small plates for sharing.
Tables are a bit close together, but acceptable.
Corkage is $30, normal to slightly below for the level of the restaurant. They will provide a decanter on request.
Food is inventive and tasty without being salty.
My grandma and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at AOC. We shared the spicy soppressata focaccia, the brioche, prosciutto, gruyère & egg, and the spanish fried chicken. Each dish was better than the last. My favorite was the spanish fried chicken, though the focaccia certainly is an extremely close second. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous - perfectly decorated with the feel of being transported out of busy LA and into a quiet chalet. Can't wait to return!
Cauliflower was amazing!
Patio was just too, too loud. Food was great but we had to yell
Food and service were outstanding. I've lived in LA for two years and never knew about this place--so glad I tried it. I would highly recommend for special occasions.
We had family here from our of town for Mother's Day - and they loved it! Delicious food - and such a beautiful setting!
Soft egg scramble sandwich too soggy. Had to eat with utensils.
Turkey focaccia almost inedible. Too salty.
Gorgeous atmosphere. Bar looked inviting enough for me to consider coming back for cocktail with a friend. No food.
Came for Saturday brunch and our table ordered the chicken and waffles and the French toast. The chicken came in 7 to 8 small strips. Nothing special and surprised as to the strips served as I'm used to one to two full pieces of dark or white meat chicken at other places. The French toast was ok but both came out lukewarm so the temp wasn't as warm as it should have been to enjoy the dishes.
I would recommend the restaurant based on past experiences and ambience. My omelette was nothing special - so greasy that I needed to ask for an extra plate to transfer it out of its greasy pool.
AOC is still terrific. While it may not be the hot new restaurant that just opened this year, it should be on everyone’s list as a go-to place. Interesting flavors, attentive and comfortable service in an upscale casual atmosphere. Sophisticated without being pretentious. Cheers to AOC.
I’m sorry but the food is not my taste,I asked to eat some dishes that were very promoted on Yelp but it was definitely my taste. I go a lot to restaurants but this is one of the places where I didn’t have too much of a joy
We keep bringing friends from all over the US here, and everyone becomes huge fans! Superlative service, imaginative cuisine, and exquisite setting! The best!
We had a lousy waiter. When my friend called to say she'd be late, I ordered some olives from the side plate selection. The waiter put the order in, but never followed up to see if it was delivered. It wasn't. Not until she arrived and we ordered and I had to ask for the olives again.
Much later, when we were finished and wanted to go, he was nowhere to be seen. Finally, I saw him in conversation with two young women at the other end of the restaurant. I went over to him and asked for the bill. Still another 5-10 minutes. Ultimately, we went to the hostess and he finally brings the bill. He had never came over to see if we wanted dessert or coffee; charged me for the late arrival olives and was not at all apologetic. I also had indicated on the reservation that the occasion was my friend's birthday. It was never acknowledged by the waiter or restaurant. I've been here many times and enjoy their menu, but the service this time was totally unacceptable.
My guest was from NY, she loved it!
Waiter was a bit intrusive. Felt rushed.
The food was fantastic. The duck was tender and yum. And the chocolate dessert was amazing. I would go back just for that!
Beautiful restaurant. Great menu. Great service. The noise level is high in the tiled courtyard.
Excellent food, drinks and service in a warm and beautiful setting
Perfect, everything was perfect!
Overall experience was not what it should be for this establishment. Food was mediocre to fair, service was entirely non existent and prices are rich for the level of food that was delivered.
There were six of us there to celebrate a birthday and we had the time of our lives. The table was a little round table in a nook and the food was excellent. The green goddess drink was amazing as well as the fried chicken, bacon wrapped dates and the sweet potatoes. Really, everything was wonderful. We were a loud group, but our noise level didn't make us seem disruptive to others, which was great!
AOC always comes through as our go-to favorite spot! The food is consistently good, the service is amazing, and the surroundings are beautiful..
Overrated. Unwelcoming atmosphere. Ok Food.
The food on a 1-10 scale is probably a 7.5 however the staff is surly and and not in any way friendly.
For me I want to dine at a restaurant where the food is good and the staff is friendly, are there are many other places with good food and a friendly staff.
Given how expensive it is I would expect a warmer touch from the staff. The staff that was actually the most friendly and accomodating were the guys who are the table helpers. Not sure what you call them, but God bless the Mexican immigrants because they have a much better attitude than the entitled Americans who seemed to have the attitude that we were lucky to be there, and food should not have any pretense, it is food not surgical rotations
If you still want to deal with it and go, then expect to spend about $150 Per Person with wine.
Best food I’ve ever had in LA! Service was amazing and the location is very cute and perfect for every occasion.
Great ambiance and good service however the food left something to be desired. The artichokes we ordered came out cold, we sent them back and they returned lukewarm.
Always perfect food, service and one of the prettiest patios in town. Not to be missed
Dinner was delicious!
Clams were incredible and chicken to die for.
Would definitely come if in the araa!
Excellent service and food quality was average.
However, very poor value.
Had a nice family gathering on Easter Sunday. Extra lively and loud beacause of that I think. We all had a good time sharing quite a number of dishes. We'll be back for sure. One demerit for a very sticky chair. They must have had trouble scraping together enough chairs and tables for that particular evening.
The restaurants food was disappointing. We had the paella, Spanish chicken and the fingerling potatoes. Nothing left me wanting more and the chicken especially was not good. I could barely finish one piece. The romesco sauce had no flavor and the cumin rub they used on the chicken just tasted off. Luckily the service was outstanding and the charcuterie is delicious. I don’t think I would recommend this restaurant unless they want wine and charcuterie.
Told the waiter we we're celebrating a birthday and did nothing.
We ate on the patio in the alcove on a Sunday early evening with special out of town Company & the service was warm & attentive & all our favorites were just sublime—the dates, (for the rest of my family), the Farmer’s Plate and the Zuni Chicken are the go-to’s & we fill in with different small plates! That’s all I need to be in food heaven-unusual for me, at AOC, I don’t need dessert-the main meal is so delicious & satisfying!
I don’t understand what is the hype about this restaurant High price for small food portion that it’s not even tasty. I ordered the char and it was somehow raw, side was supreme orange, it was cold and didn’t go with the halfway cooked warm fish. I sat on a metal chair in patio didn’t have a cushion and very uncomfortable. We ordered several dishes and none came at the same time. And oh the dessert, awful!!! Fast food restaurants have better desserts the plater consisted of few items and one was marshmello on top of a cookie. And nothing we had was tasty. I was celebrating my bday with a few friends and we told the waiter that. I asked the hostess ahead of time if we will get a candle on a pastry, she said they will put a candle on the dessert but we have to order the dessert, we ordered a few dessert but no candles. I have no problem dining in $$$ restaurants, but I will expect tasty food. I would never go back. Do not recommend.
Very disappointed. We ordered six items. 3 were good and 3were pretty bad. Clams were delicious but some were gritty/sandy. Best part of dish was broth and they brought only 2 p small pieces of bread to sop up sauce. We requested more and it took at least 15 minutes to get the extra bread. Gnocchi was as bad. Had little taste and texture was hard. Duck was mediocre at best. Food service was very slow and waiter wasn’t around to ask to check on food. Because of slow service they did not charge us corkage fee on the wine we brought, which was nice. But, we would not go back because of food quality anyway.
Everything about AOC is amazing: The ambiance is beautiful, romantic, old European classic style. The service was wonderful, among the best ever; everyone was genuine, warm and thoughtful. The food was incredibly original and beyond delicious, quite spectacular! (Especially the Spanish Fried Chicken) And the prices were excellent...overall an incredible experience, great value, and our new favorite restaurant!
