It was not a good night for Mezze. Their systems were down and things were a bit chaotic, to put it mildly. Their 5 star rating is based on the grace and consideration with which they handled the otherwise rocky but enjoyable evening. When we arrived for our reservation, they weren't sure what to do with us; but they found us a table on the second floor in the corner which suited us just fine because we wanted to talk. It was a festive atmosphere and everybody seemed to be having lots of funs. They apologized numerous times and offered to move us to a "better" table when one opened up, but we enjoyed our table and stayed put. The menu was full of various tapas offerings, all of which proved to be surprisingly good (although a couple were a tad over cooked). The food did take a while to arrive as it was difficult for the kitchen to put things together with their systems down. Still, despite being located in an out of the way table, we were checked on several times so we never felt left out. When the wine arrrived late for one of our party they gave her another glass for free and filled it to the rim. What made the whole evening so pleasant was that they seemed to care so much. Although we never complained about anything, they apologized for the upside down evening profusely and gave us 75% off our food and drink. We were stunnned at their generosity and tipped on the original bill. I can't ever remember leaving a restaurant wanting it to be successful so much. The food was much better than the casual atmosphere suggested, and their desire to make us happy was unmatched.
