We were promptly seated, had a reservation, but waited 30 minutes for the chef to get over to the table with the food cart. The waiter had trouble with our order despite us repeating it back twice. We had to ask for white rice, which comes with the entrees we ordered and wait for it to be delivered after the other food came off the grill. We spent $85 plus tip on two entrees and 1 friend rice for my daughter. The team was friendly but the service was slow with low value for over $100. Our daughter requested this restaurant, we will not be returning.

Very bad experience, they sat me at the same table with strangers with my children, we literally couldn't even look up, it doesn't seem fair to me for the price, not to mention that the food was of very poor quality, I don't recommend it at all

Awful experience on Thanksgiving day. The chef didn't know how to use the knives and fire and mixed up numerous orders. The pleather on the chairs at our table was cracking/peeling off.

Haven’t been here in a few years, so went back to celebrate a birthday. Happened to sit at a table with two other people celebrating birthdays (w/friends) so it was perfect. Everyone was in a great mood. We had the best server in Tori, who selected the best Teppanyaki chef we could ask for. Will be going back.

Our server was really nice and super sweet. But our chef was actually really boring and acted as if he didn’t want to be there. It was probably the least entertaining and it was for my sons birthday so it was a bummer.

It’s not like it used to be. The tables were overcrowded, the bar had gnats flying all around, our bottled beers were not cold, the food had no flavor (we had filets, lobster, and shrimp). We won’t be back.

Sushi was so bad! Sushi rice was hard & cold!! The teppanyaki is all show bec. the food is bad. Too much oil & butter. So very greasy. Not an authentic Japanese food.

We made a reservation so the wait was not long. Once seated, we waited about 15-20 minutes before our chef arrived. The back of the restaurant was very hot and they had fans on (not ideal temperature for a restaurant that cooks openly on grills). The ladies restroom had a very potent smell, and was not really clean. Not the best experience we've had.

Great food. Unfortunately, your hibachi experience is purely dependent on which chef you get. Our chef this last time was not in the mood to talk, joke, or do any of the showmanship that typically accompanies the meal preparation. The food was delicious and service was otherwise outstanding.

I have always loved Benihanas downtown. It’s has always been very clean and the food amazing. This time dear lord Jesus the food was mediocre no flavor what’s so ever. The salad was wilted and the sauces had no flavor. The restrooms were disgusting extremely dirty. The entrance door and , restroom doors das filth stuck on them and a bunch of handprints like it had not been cleaned in months. The chairs were ripped something you would never see at any Benihana. I can’t believe it that I’m just a few months this place has dropped there standards dramatically. We had just gone March of this year and the food was amazing everything super clean and disinfected the experience amazing but I’m sad to say I will never be returning to this benihana unless they fix all of there issues. t

The waiter was very slow and inattentive. The hibachi chef was good, but barely spoke english. The restaurant itself was very old and beaten down. The chairs had torn seats and looked dirty. The hibachi grills were really old and burnt. Not worth what we paid.

I went for dinner and still had to pay for parking. I had a 3pm reservation but had to wait due to only 1 chef. Betty the chef was awesome. The food was fantastic but super over priced now. I will not be returning.

Benihana downtown is the best! Love the lunch and have made this a birthday go-to, the surprise songs and free photo were a nice touch aside from the fun tricks that our chef performed while preparing our meals. Adults and children alike were present and it was by no means loud, very relaxing and pleasant. Everyone was welcoming and warm, thank you for making my sister and my birthdays extra awesome!

Worst birthday dinner for my mom . We got a new cook whose 2nd day on the floor . She cross contamination raw chicken and rice . She was just nervous all around and I don’t think it was smart to put someone new for a birthday celebration.

Restaurant needs a complete remodeling. Looks worn and dirty. Also area outside thw restaurant is dangerous/ crime ridden. More security is needed. Suggest avoiding at night.

We had a reservation but had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to be seated , even though we were 5 minutes early. Once seated we weren’t greeted until about 5 minutes after. The lady got our drink orders and then we didn’t see her again for quite some time. While waiting I had enough time to notice all the straw wrappers, napkins, and just trash and debris all over the floor. It looked as though they had a rush and didn’t bother to clean afterwards. The lady finally comes back but with no drinks and proceeds to take our order. They couldn’t accommodate a switch on my rice so I changed my order to sushi and she became visibly annoyed. Fast forward the chef has come out to prepare the meals for everyone. We still don’t have our drinks… my sushi comes out and she mixes my order up with the young lady next to me so she takes our food back with the promise of a new one. Finally our drinks show up. Everyone is eating except for me. The server was gone so long I had to get up and search for her. I found her sitting by the sushi station conversing with the host. Annoyed, I cancelled my order took the bill and left. Very disappointed. Will never return. And will be telling other people to avoid this place at all cost.

I went for my birthday (as I do ever year) and it wasn’t the same. No ice cream, no picture, no song, no green tea … they didn’t do any of the traditional stuff I’ve come to enjoy from this restaurant. The experience was disappointing.

This place was unfortunately one of the worst experiences I’ve had . Reservations at 8:30 got seated at 9:40 wasn’t even attend until 10:00 that was just because our table hadn’t been served or asked for beverages or drinks and I spoke to a manager. Our seating area was miserable hot and damp with water falling off the AC ducts on us. Then Lights went off . Smh. After a while we were moved to another table . The waitress there stepped it up and got ball rolling must have been around 10:20 . It was her first day but the whole table agreed she made it better with her accommodating us expeditiously. This place needs to tighten up . Not at all what I remember this being as.

Staff were great and accommodating. Restaurant was hot when we arrived. They placed floor fans around to cool customers down but wasn’t expecting this from Benihana. Chef was sweating and staff were sweating too. Not the best way to enjoy hibachi. Our group of 9 stayed because of the staff otherwise we would have left within the first 5 mins. Management needs to fix the A/C or risk losing more customers. Definitely not value for money on my visit.

Absolutely outstanding food today, Edgar (Chef) was really on his game today. The table was full and everyone ordered an entree and approximately 12 orders of rice; everything cooked exceptionally and seasoned to perfection. Love Benihana downtown!!!
