Bob's Steak & Chop House - Plano
It is such a special place. Never disappointed in service or good! Bob’s is one of our favorite places!!
A wonderful way to spend Valentines evening! My husband and I had a great meal, the drinks were yummy (Sezarac and Cupid’s Kiss) and the desserts were HUGE! Thanks to the Plano team for a wonderful night!
Service was great!! I thought the price was good too.
Every waiter passed by our table, 1 almost walked into me while at the table. Servers and staff talked in the entry way to the room, could here their conversations; had to turned the tables. Not a place for quiet dinner with your wife. Should have stayed with normal menu items, evening specials were far below expectations. My steak was warm, my wife enjoyed her steak; we waited 25 minutes after previous course. Sorry we ordered dessert; not that tasty and took 20 minute after finishing our steaks. Then stood outside for 10 minutes waiting for the valet to find our car. They were worried they had lost my car. I pointed out to them it was parked only 20 feet away. They have lost us as a customer after 20 years. This is 2 times with bad service in the last 12 months.
For the most part the meal was good. We have eaten at Bob's several time and typically the steaks are cooked perfectly. However, the steaks on Thursday were good, but not to your usual standards. We asked for medium and got somewhat medium, but the steaks were nearly burned on the top and bottom...to much searing I guess which did go with the medium center of the steak.
We will return, but hope your cook gets more training before then.
Thanks for asking,
My wife & I spent a lovely evening at Bob’s celebrating Valentines Day. Bob’s is the standard for a quality steak!
Gotta love the pickles & carrots!
You can pay more, but you wont get more. Bob's is our favorite steakhouse
Very pleasurable evening, everyone was quite attentive, and the food was very good. Never disappointed with the food or service here.
Food and service were both awesome as always! Thank you!
Great food and service - We have been there before and they are very consistent in their service and quality of food.
We had an excellent meal on a cold Saturday night. We were seated in the rear dining room which was great because it is much quieter than the dining room adjacent to the bar. Lauren was our server and was friendly and helpful. Just the right amount of service with a smile. We will definitely return.
Need to be able to take to go drinks with you after dinner.
I typically like BOB's. Service in every way was great. Our server was very attentive. I like my Filet med-well and I agreed to have it butterflied for preparation, and they still burned it up. No pink at all let in that steak. All other food items were up to Bob's great standards.
Always a great experience at Bob's - Food and service are superb!
Our dinner guest really enjoyed your restaurant. The wait staff was very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Bob's Steak & Chop House to everyone. We will join you again on our next visit to Plano.
Best Steak House in Dallas Fort Worth. A+ Food and service.
As per our usual we went for my husbands birthday. Food was fabulous as always
Went to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. Service was overall great. Food was excellent. The roasted carrot was awesome. Husband ordered off the February specials and I ordered 9oz Filet Mignon. Received a Happy Anniversary card from the staff. And best of all our dessert was free. Ate about 1/2 of my dinner and it made a great leftover meal the next day. A little on the pricey side, so for special occasion, I would definitely come back again. Noise level is was loud. Making it hard to hear at your own table.
Had a phenomenal dinner. Debra was outstanding as always
Bob’s has always been our favorite go to place for birthdays and anniversary’s, but this visit was far below the standards we had come to expect from Bob’s. We had to ask the busboy twice to find our waitress so we could reorder cocktails. The service was very bad and more drinks might have been ordered if the waitress had checked on us. I ordered my steak medium and was told this would be pink in the center. Received my steak and it was very rare with blood filling my plate. Again had to ask the busboy to find waitress so I could return the steak. When steak returned it was charred, but still rare in center. To Bob’s credit they did refund the cost of my steak. By this time my husband had finished eating. I did enjoy the potatoes and carrot. Our complimentary anniversary dessert was very dry from being refrigerated too long. The evening was a great disappointment. I wanted coffee with dessert, but waitress never offered it and left too quickly for me to order. We again had to ask the busboy to have waitress bring our check because she was talking. At Bob’s prices it will be a long while before we try again.
Always an amazing meal. It’s what keeps us coming back. Craig along with each staff member made us feel like we were the only guests in the entire restaurant. It made for a very memorable occasion as we celebrated our youngest 13th birthday at his favorite steak house.
Food was good. Service was good, not great. Really the only problem we had was the table next to us was two ladies that were sitting there when we walked in and were finished eating when we got there. 2 hours later they were still there and got louder and louder as the night went on. I mean talking like no one else was in the restaurant. I mean, eat your food and leave. I don't care how much you both hate your husbands. Neither do my kids. But the food was good. They sat us earlier than our reservation. They were very nice. I would have liked a little more attention from the waitress at our table with follow up etc. I would have expected them to ask us to check our steaks to make sure they were cooked the way we asked. They did not. Maybe they don't do that at Bob's. I asked that our left overs be put in a couple of boxes. They put all the food in one box. Little stuff I know but when you are paying $200 for dinner I'd expect attention to detail.
We were very disappoint in the Steak, Calamari and the Calamari Sauce. Waiter, Cesar, provided us with wonderful service and the atmosphere was nice as well as well as the sides, desert and wine.
I always enjoy Bobs. This location is especially loud compared to their other locations. They were very thoughtful in their presentation of a birthday dessert. I chose to go with the prim ribeye which was flavorful, but I was a little disappointed in the quality of cut and the warmth of of the steak upon presentation. The potatoes were scalding hot, but steak was quite cool- only complaint about the entire night- so I’d say it was a success. Thank you!
The food was excellent and the service was as well but it was LOUD! We could barely hear our waitress and were just about hoarse by the end of the evening trying to talk to each other. So if you like to carry on a conversation during dinner this isn't the place to go.
This was supposed to be our Valentine's dinner!! But it turned into a noisy filled with foul language bar scene!!!
I had asked for a "nice" table not close to the door when I confirmed my reservation. When we arrived guess where they wanted to seat us? Yes, right next to the door and the bar as well. Does anyone listen anymore? So, I had to ask for a better table and dinner then started out great, our waiter Jorge was awesome! However they then brought in a party of 8, and as soon as they sat down the guy in the red shirt started, talking as if everyone was deaf and enjoyed obscenities, F-bomb dropped over 7 times. We quickly finished and decided to speak to the manager. One would have thought he would have heard all the "noise" as he actually was directly behind this particular table at his podium. But as we talked to him, he was oblivious to the "noise" of red shirt and his friend and instead said essentially it was our fault for not asking to move..... unbelievable, is he deaf dumb and blind? We will never go back or suggest this restaurant. Del Frisco's here we come.
One of the best steaks you will ever have!
Bob's is always a great place to celebrate a special occasion!
Only place I will buy a steak. Great date place as well as business dinners.
Food and service great. Too loud where we were seated. Will move to quieter area next time.
I have had better experiences at Bob's. Service and side orders were good. I had the T bone steak and the guy sitting next to me had the Rib Eye. My t bone was cooked as ordered, but just an ok steak that I feel I could get at a lesser chain. According to the other customer, the Rib Eye he had was tough. I really didn't ask for feedback from the other 5 companions, but I noticed the other person that ordered the Rib Eye only ate half. Not sure why. It was a business meeting and we had the first table by the door, and it was a little hard to hear the conversation across the table.
Visited here on my birthday dinner with my wife. on special occasions over the years we have dined at many higher-end steakhouses. This one stands out, the service food and drinks were all exceptional. Some places you may receive excellent service or great food but we hit the parlay with this place and got the best of both worlds. It was an outstanding experience.
We were treated like royalty. Three of us went for our birthdays and the service was top notch. The food was the best ever. My friends were so impressed by the way we were treated.
First time here and was expecting something a little more intimate for the price. However, the service and food more than made up for our surprise at the loudness of the restaurant. Make no mistake. It’s expensive. It was 2 of us and we had 2 glasses of house cab, split a soup and appetizer, each got an entree that was on the higher end and an a la carte side and 2 desserts and our total with tip was almost $300. The value is there, though if you don’t do it all the time. The food was amazing. The lobster bisque or Mac and cheese might actually be the best thing I’ve ever had. No joke.
We made a reservation online the day before using the Open Table link on their website, and since the 6:30 pm time we wanted wasn't available - we chose the 1st available time of 5 pm. We arrived a little early at 4:45 pm, and found out they don't start seating until 5 pm. This is our fault for not seeing this ahead of time.
However, the hostess told us to have a seat at the bar and they would let us know when they start seating. Our seat at the bar was literally directly in front of the hostess station, however after 5:00 pm rolled around and we noticed a few people that came in after us and got immediately seated - we decided to ask again. It was at this point that they finally took us to our seats around 5:15 pm.
The server was great and kept the conversation flowing. She gave great recommendations as this was our 1st time eating there.
The food was good, but it was disappointing that the main course only comes with either a potato item or one side (vs. the two sides typically offered at most places.) We don't drink, so we can't comment on their wine or alcohol selection.
Overall it was a good experience, but when we eat at steakhouses with this price point we expect a little more when it comes to service, taste, and the amount of food.
Always a good time at Bob’s
Bob's is our go-to for birthdays and special occasions. We swap it out for III Forks every now and then. III Forks has better desserts but Bob's beats them out in enough areas that we tend to go here more than there. Both of these places beat out the other local options in our opinion (capital grille, silver fox, perrys, randys, flemings) Haven't tried Ricks yet, only one left on our list to check out, but its tough because Bob's just does so many things well.
Love the bread, love the salads (wedge), love the soup (broccoli cheese is my fave, I dislike it when they serve a seafood soup as their soup of the day, since they always have the lobster bisque as an option), the calamari is just perfection, the sides are great..we've enjoyed the brussel sprouts, bacon, and mac n cheese, my hubs always gets the mac n cheese. Then for the entrees, they make THE best lamb I've ever had. I've gotten the lamb 99 times out of 100. Last time I got a ribeye and it was good, but not as good as the lamb. Ask them to slice up the lamb for you so you don't have to fight it off the bone so much (bonus you see if they cooked it right before you even touch it) I'd say go to III forks for steak, come to Bob's for everything else (cept dessert). If you can possibly fit more food in your face, I always do the loaded potato and my hubs does the smashed potatoes. I ALWAYS have leftovers. No matter how hungry I am and how much I want to finish the calamari and mac n cheese because they don't reheat well.
Service is always great. Even the valet dudes are great. Manager usually checks on us too.
It can be NOISY. I hate it when people bring their business meetings here. Ask for a booth and come during off-peak hours IMO. Early dinner or late dinner to get rid of those loudmouthed dudes.
Bobs, I love you, please add a couple better dessert options in case I ever have room for one.
GREAT food !! / Slow service ... Only saw r waiter twice ... had to ask for ck. then gave it to another waiter..
I am visiting Prosper Texas for work with some vendors. Wanted a place to have a great steak and some locals told me about Bob's Steakhouse. I made reservations for 5 at 6:30 p.m. We were greeted and seated right away. The warm bread was brought to our table and it was delicious. Ordered the 16inch Filet Mignon and it was absolutely amazing. I ordered it medium with mash potatoes and green beans. Only regret was not trying the pickles on the table and ordering dessert at the end. My wife flew in 2 days later and we are both going back so I can try the pickles and dessert this time.
Wagyu steak was delicious! Server Jordan was awesome! Thanks for making Kelly’s Birthday a fun evening!
