Bocca Di Lupo
We specialise in the obscure and the delicious highlights of food and wine from all across Italy's twenty regions. If we can make something ourselves, we do - gelati, breads, sausages, salame, pickles, mostarda, and pasta of course - the rest is carefully sourced from Italy. A selection of Italian wines and home-made and imported foods is available for delivery, along with our famous gelato, from Gelupo.
What Insiders Are Saying
If you want to know where to find the best Italian food in Soho is, it’s at Bocca di Lupo.
Unfortunately we had some loud drunks beside us and the tables are very close together anyway. But that fairly major issue aside it has maintained its other restaurant standards well.
This is an incredible restaurant. Very Italian and food is very delicious. All pastas are fresh and very inventive. Good list of Italian wines by the glass. We loved it so much that we went 2 nights in a row. Book early. It is hard to get into but you can reserve seats at the bar. We sat right in front of the chef’s and that was fun.
Tables were very small, staff constantly pushing chairs past us and having to push in our seats. Menu was limited - no traditional pasta dishes. Over priced for quality. Hugely disappointed
The food is Good but hostes service is not. There are also better options with better price.
Regular customer , but the menu changes are less appealing than before
Great lively restaurant. Really interesting (and delicious ) menu all delivered with great service
I went for dinner with my daughter previous to the theatre. The table was ready, the waiter was very attentive. They offer to take your jackets to a cloakroom which was very useful because we had several layers due to cold weather. The food took a bit long because they cook everything fresh so bear this in mind. But they warned us about it in case we wanted to change the meals and they came to the table several times to check on us until the food was brought. It’s a trendy place with a nice ambience, good food and good service.
Superb food. Great atmosphere and a menu that reads very well. Will go back!
Service was too pushy and disorganised. We were never left to just enjoy our own company. There was an implication that we must hurry. Restaurant very noisy.
Bocca Di Lupo serves very good food in a great central location. It’s been my go to place for meeting up with friends for lunch or pre theatre dinner since it opened. Unfortunately it’s got busier and busier and you’ve got to book in advance. The best seats are at the bar if you can stand the noise. A friend and I enjoyed a very light early dinner with a glass of good wine for a bargain price. Nothing not to like.
Excellent food and excellent service. The restaurant never fails to offer interesting food and a very friendly atmosphere. I would definitely eat at Bocca Di Lupo again
Very elegant place. Great italian food. Better find a table then sitting at the bar which is too hot
I’d been a few years ago and loved it and this on occasion thought we’d go for a delicious meal. Was very disappointed with the food and the service. Won’t be returning and will advise friends likewise
They were very accomodating when only 2 if us turned up rather than the expected 4 as our friends were ill. But we did let them know earlier that morning. We sat at the bar rather than at our table for 4 which, embarrassingly, remained empty. Loved sitting at the bar as can watch the prep, the cooking & the pass, all of which seemed chaotic but worked brilliantly. Favourite dishes were calves' brains & fried artichokes, borlotti beans & pork fat, puntarelle with anchovy dressing. Mussel & red mullet spaghetti I thought too overwhelmingly tomatoey, much as I love tomatoes & the artichoke & lemon zest risotto was underwhelming with very little lemon flavour. But will certainly go again & work our way through more of the menu.
Have you ever purchased a golden Chinese chocolate coin? In fact, it's just an expired chocolate collapsed in an golden packaging ... Boca del Lupo is something similar. Excellent starters, but the main dish proved to be a gourmet ruin. The menu is written in Esperanto ... Italian words groove between prepositions in English. Forget about the carbonara and /or frozen sausages in three assortments. The final efforts of the Staff confirm that they know what they sell, but they do not want a negative media aded. We deeply regret our opt for this location.
What a lovely surprise. Original dishes, perfect taste and quick service. Would definitely recommend it!
A week after coming back from Bologna, I can say that the tortelloni took me straight back to Piazza San Stefano.
Always great. Simplicity Creativity Flavour. Italian at its best.
We love BDL, the only drawback is that at peak times you can't hear yourself think. But everything else is great. Get some drapes on those back walls Bocca!
I had the mozzarella and tomato starter, which was a ball of mozzarella and a small, unripe tomato cut in to quarters. Disappointing both in terms of taste and presentation. But the main course (risotto) was pleasant. The staff were lovely, and it’s central to lots of theatres so very handy.
Before we head back to NY, we had to have one more meal at the kitchen bar. Fun and love the food.
Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We enjoyed seating at the bar. The food was great and nicely presented.
Amazing Italian food in London, great service - would recommend sitting at the counter!
Great atmosphere sitting at the bar watching the chefs work. Tasty food especially the pasta dishes which were excellent.
One of the worst dinners we have had in London. I am amazed that there were people eating there. I travel the world eat in rated restaurants and this was bland, we had heartburn from the food , cork was swimming in the wine. We will not be back.
We had the most fantastic meal to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The staff were lovely and brought her a cake with a candle on. Sensational food and a lovely atmosphere.
It was my third time at the restaurant and was very much looking forward to their exquisite food! But the menu they advertised on line had very little of the menu they offered on the night.
Also, those few dishes from Lombardy, where I am from, have disappeared from the list but one. Polenta,
where have you gone my friend? I was so disappointed!
Overall, the wine was beautiful, the waiter nice and helpful, the food lovely. Just a shame the flavours and the choice did not blow me away like in the past.
I will try again!
PS please take the on line menu off the website, it is misleading!
I used to love the place but perhaps due to its success, the quality of the service and food has dropped considerably! What a pity!
Remains one of the best Italian restaurant in London
Have been wanting to try this place for a long time . It certainly lived upto the hype and the only downside was not having enough time to try the sharing plates due to having to go to the theatre !
Return visit is definite.
It was absolutely amazing!
I’ve been there a few time when a older chef was in the kitchen and the food was v good.
This time I went and the chef was a younger guy.
The food was over spiced, bad present and chewy! I’m not coming back
Took way too long to be seated, hostess was cold and on the verge of rude, server took too long to take our order, they were out of the cocktail ordered, server forgot to bring bread. Overall, not worth the money or the trip. Disappointing.
Superb food and great ambience, enjoyed the experience of eating at the counter area.
Expected much more from an authetic Italian. Artichoke salad was shaved uncooked artichoke - not great... pasta dish was poor - orecchiete had spinach or some other green sauce and too much chilli. Fish was decent but unremarkable. Deserts were the best - canolli and torta caprese. Too expensive and overhiped.
Very enjoyable meal, lovely food wine and service. Can't wait to go back!
Very enjoyable, tasty, and just right before the theatre.
Great food and knowledgeable waiter -we will be back!
Overpriced and stressful. I won't be back. Portions very small also.
