Food & entertainment excellent. Service was a little slow.
There are three different dining rooms. One of them has an oud player/singer and a belly dancer. The music starts at 7 and the belly dancer comes on at 9. You cannot order from the menu in the “entertainment room” but the sampling option turned out to be pretty good. I’m guessing if you ordered off the menu in the other dining rooms during this time the service would be sketchy but don’t know that for sure. The show itself was quite entertaining.
If it is the food you are after I would avoid that time and go earlier. And definitely make a reservation, at least on the weekend.
The owner is on site all the time and very attentive to his guests and oversees the entire staff.
We go to Byblos a few times a year. The food is phenomenal. Because the cuisine is largely gluten-free, and they absolutely understand cross-contamination issues, we often take visiting celiac family there.
This visit was notable for the quality of service. It’s always good, even very good, but this was exceptional. It was European in touch (table hierarchy observed, which was a treat), and advising our grandson against medium-rare lamb. That was done gently, and with respect (he’s 13, was treated as an adult). We adored the server.
The only negative was just a personal thing with me. Cooking temperatures for chicken and pork have been lowered. Two pieces of my chicken kabob weren’t edible to my taste. They were quickly replaced by the server who said he absolutely understood what I was saying.
Service was quite slow. It took two hours from the time we sat at the table until we had any cooked food.
We are regulars at Byblos. The food is great and the wait staff are attentive and know the menu. It’s a great venue and we’ve never had a bad meal. We highly recommend Byblos. (The falafel is incredible and the specials are always great)
This is our second time back and we did enjoy the food.
So fun and festive. Enjoyed the food, service and music so much. Some guests talked very! loudly in the music dining area at their tables over the music during the performance part of the evening. Borderline disrespectful to the musicians. I found this distracting to my enjoyment of the music and dance that was very high level musicianship. However, We will come again! The dinner service pace is slow and fills the evening.
Was disappointed in the meal. Food was bland. Our waiter did nothing to make the meal memorable. He seemed putout that he had to serve the 4 of us. I thought the food lacked taste and was fairly pricey for what was received. Overall I would not go back.
Byblos has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is excellent, the staff professional, helpful and attentive, and the setting is very comfortable. The flavors are fresh and vibrant, the portions generous, and everything we tried was top-notch. We look forward to our next visit.
Amazing food. Harsh cleaning liquid smell. Staff great. Lovely.
Byblos has very tasty Middle Eastern food, including the best falafel I've had since I was in Jerusalem. Portion sizes were large; I took a lot of my food home. As my friend and I were leaving, we could see that they were about to have live music. I don't know if the music is only on Saturdays, but it looked like it would be worth hearing.
There is no other restaurant for Lebanese food!! Outstanding.
We waited about 5 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, our server was very nice. The food was amazing. The belly dancer and live music were very entertaining. Highly recommend and will definitely return!
The service is always outstanding and owners are so involved in the restaurant making sure everything is as it should be. Everything is done right! We have never had a bad experience at Byblos and we go there regularly.
Byblos is one of my favorite restaurants with good Middle East food at a reasonable price.
Love the food, the service and entertainment. Must go!
Favorite restaurant. We eat here often. People are very friendly. Food is incredible. Always fresh. Always delicious. And host Maurice is one of the nicest people anywhere.
What a fun night. We had excellent seats. Opted for family style dinner and it was the perfect choice with a taste of the menu for everyone. Our server was very efficient, thoughtful and didn't interrupt our party at all. The entertainment and dancing was a high point.
Best Lebanese food in the boston area we love it there
Food and service was good. However, don’t understand why no lunch menu on Sunday. Wanted to add chicken to salad, only way to get chicken was to order a chicken kabob meal.
Very good food
Owner and staff so nice
Belly dancing a plus
Food is amazing! Try everything!
We love this restaurant and have been coming for years. The food is fantastic and the servers are equally at good as the good. They make you feel at home. Their specials are incredible.
Overpriced. A “one size fits all” rice or fries on almost every entree. Some waiters exhibit attitude. Food should be better seasoned and quality for their prices.
Good food but expensive! We ordered the mezza for four and we got played barely enough for four. The Kabab plate had four pieces of each kind which is unusual for Lebanese restaurant and hospitality. Hummus plate was the individual size!
Also the place could use some updating: the tables are old and the ambiance is dim.
DELICIOUS! Many vegetarian options, and the falafel and hummus were terrific. My husband liked the lamb kebob. Next time we'll come later to see the belly dancing.
I think it’s a good place. Maybe the food had different spices and that make it heavier. However in general very authentic Lebanese restaurant
The band and belly dancer on Friday nights really makes Byblos a destination for a special occasion. They have set menus with a perfect selection of food. They also have a large selection of Lebanese beer and wine.
We love Byblos. We go fairly often, and it never disappoints. I had the beef kabob, which I adore. My husband and 2 friends adored the lamb shank special, our niece had the kafta kabob, and was delighted.
The trick is. It to get stuffed on the pickles, pita and hummus. The best hummus anywhere, by the way.
Gluten free options abound and are well understood.
It’s always such a pleasure there.
Best falafel anywhere!
Music and belly dancing on weekends is fun but also loud so if you want a quiet dinner, check the timing on this.
We had a delicious meal, the mezze for four people was downsized to accommodate the two of us. The fatoush and tabouleh salads were both very good, as were all of the appetizer samples and the entree meal which included beef, chicken and kafteh meats along with a delicious rice pilaf and grilled vegetables.
This is a must visit restaurant for excellent Lebanese fare. The Kibbee Balls are the best around. The Baba Ghannouj is so smooth and creamy with subtle beautiful flavor. The Hummus is spectacular as well.
The chef's specials of the day are consistently amazing. We had a Lamb Shank presented in an unbelievable garlic and other spiced red sauce.
The restaurant is elegantly adorned with lovingly placed photos of Beirut neighborhoods obviously with great significance to the friendly and outstanding owners.
It takes about 25 minutes to drive from JP but it is so very much worth the drive. For a little variation, and I might add a little louder alternative, go on Saturday evening and enjoy the traditional dance and music. It's fun!
Wow, what a great experience! This was our first time here and we thought it was fantastic. The service was top notch and the food was amazing. The quality and quantity was superb. The Hommus was fresh and delicious. All our entrees were well prepared and very tasty. We will definitely be back.
Byblos came highly recommended to us but it was a total disappointment. There was a birthday party going on which I can understand but perhaps the function/event space should be separated from the dining space. The carpet and ambience were old, dirty, and dated. The dishes and silverware had grease stains. The food took very long to come in between courses, we got there at 8:45 pm and we didn't get our third course which we ordered around 9 until 10 pm. We don't eat beef and the rice had beef in it. It would have been nice for them to elaborate on the contents of the items. We asked for warm pita bread and we never got it. The lamb was undercooked, we asked for medium well.
Service was perfect. Attentive but not intrusive. Hommus and grape leaves appetizers an excellent start. Lamb kabobs charred nicely, tender, and cooked as ordered (light pink ctr in our case). As were the grilled veggies. Ambiance quiet, but we were there early so noise may increase later in the evening. Overall, a great dinner. We'll be back.
As usual everything was outstanding one of my favorites
I would ALWAYS recommend Byblos. They are the best restaurant around, run by wonderful people. Never had a bad experience.
We were here for Father's day and couldn't have been happier with the delicious food and excellent service
Amazing restaurant! Food is authentic and quantity size is large. Great place to take the family !
