Food was great and service was excellent. However, Saturday night is not the time for a nice dinner with good conversation. The bar scene is LOUD and is definitely what the place is geared towards. They actually had to ask people to move so we could be squeezed into a table next to the high top being leaned on. This is with empty tables a little further away. Our waiter had more sense and moved us. If not for the level of service, this review would not be as positive.
Our waitress was great!!! Food was quick and excellent too! Thank you!
I came with my husbands family for his birthday and we had an amazing meal! We got the mushroom pizza and meatballs as an appetizer and loved the pizza so much we spontaneously asked for another one. Everyone loved their entrees (rigatoni bolognese and eggplant parm were standouts) and the service was excellent. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great celebration spot in Southie!
Big and a bit noisy, but food and ambience were great and the staff was awesome!
Perfect though always noisy.
Capo is a great spot for a night out, a bite to eat with family, or a date. The food, drink, and atmosphere are all outstanding.
Been there for business meeting and felt the way , server was pushy during the service. And failed the bring the check when fast pace needed.
Steve O was an amazing server! Bottomless pasta was great
Food was excellent but was charged for 1/2 order of pasta w/ bolognese when I asked for bolognese on the pasta that came with the dish instead of pomodoro. Was not told that I would be charged extra $12!!!
Great food, great service. No complaints at all, would recommend.
The food was very good and the staff was excellent, I’ve never had better service from a waitress
Excellent as always I continue to be impressed by the service and food at Capo!!!
The food is better than ever......lots of good energy and upbeat atmosphere
We love Capo. Love the staff, love the food particularly, but the loud crowds on Friday and Saturday night are overwhelming.
I’ve been to capo on a number of times but the past two experiences have been exceptional thanks to the phenomenal service from our waiter Aaron on both occasions. My girlfriend is allergic to all dairy which can be difficult to find safe options at restaurants at times and Aaron was extremely accommodating with helping her find the best options on the menu. The food was prepared perfectly everything was delicious and brought to the table fairly quick which was impressive with how full the place was. I’ve always had a great impression of Capo but I’ve been highly impressed the more I frequent it!
My husband and I were in Boston for a short time and we went to Capo TWICE! It was amazing Italian food and such a cool, Italian rustic atmosphere. I highly recommend!!
Our experience was great. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about food and drinks.
5 star food, service absolutely can't wait till next visit
Have enjoyed this spot since it's opening. The layout and design is comfortable and welcoming. The staff is attentive without being over bearing. Highly recommend this as food is amazing. Not an overly large menu but each item well prepared and excellent.
Came here about a month ago and it was fabulous. Food was great as was the service. However this time, I think they were understaffed which unfortunately affected the service and the food. Would still return here but this time was a miss.
Came here for a birthday dinner, the service was wonderful. Everyone super friendly and the food was incredible
We had a large party and the service and food were great. The only negative is that it was a bit chilly near the window and it took an extra 5 minutes for 3 people in our party to get their meals. Other than that it was great!
Our waitress was very funny and easy to talk to! It wasn’t even like we had a waitress, it was like we had another friend hanging out with us. She had great suggestions and made the overall experience so much fun.
good for a younger crowd
not for a special occasion
Was a Friends birthday and has no acknowledgment of that even when I told our waitress it was her birthday.
Delicious but still affordable!
Rustic modern decor and creative dishes make this one of my new favorite places. The server was timely, knowledgeable and interacted with our group. We had half a dozen hungry people with outspoken senses of humor and she was great. The food is delicious - the bacon wrapped figs area a must - but the menu is full of enticing bites. Capo also has a dedicated parking lot, which is fantastic for those who drive into the city. Go and enjoy. I'll definitely be back.
Is it a restaurant or a bar?? VERY LOUD as everyone needed to yell over the background music.
Food was weak...great arugula salad and meatball antipasti; chicken Alfredo was heavy on very al dente pasta but thin on sauce and chicken, while flavorful was gnarly. Wine list was fair in quality
The girls at the front desk are extremely rude and make the entire night a hassle. They told us 400 people were ahead of us to get downstairs, but when people don’t show they don’t move people up on the list, therefore unable to provide an accurate wait time. When we asked for a time check, the one girl was extremely rude and wouldn’t give a straight answer, just said “you’ll receive a text IF you can down.” We have come before when the wait was 500+ and never had an issue getting downstairs by 11pm. The front desk girls continuously got ruder as the night went on if we asked for an update.
The service and attention was great! You definitely felt welcomed. Food was delicious. Going back with other friends soon.
Never have to “settle” on a vegetarian option- they always have several! Always delicious and never disappointed in my meal
First time at Capo, will definitely be back. Just recommend it to a friend that has some guests coming into Boston this Friday night. Love the atmosphere. Julia and Chris our servers were outstanding. They were both super friendly and so knowledgeable about the menu. Now I want to try Lincoln, Loco and Fat Baby 👍😊
Steve is the man!!
The place is beautiful. Our waiter was horrible. He had to "find me" an unsweetened iced tea which took about 20 minutes while everyone else at my table had their cocktails. I asked for a straw when it came, he never brought one (a nice bus boy did).
I ordered the Brick Chicken which was very slimy I and actually got sick in the middle of the night. I asked the waited for a sharp knife to cut the chicken, again, he never brought me one. The roasted cauliflower was absolutely delicious.
Our waiter is the main reason why we will not be back. He could have been bothered with us, never smiled, never brought the two things that I had asked for (I was not rude about it at all). You can tell he was just not into waiting on us, we all got the same vibe.
Not sure what happened with the Chicken. I can't say if that is why I got sick but it just didn't seem like it was really cooked through. My husband wouldn't even try it and he loves chicken.
Food was cold upon arrival. Servers did not have the common sense to supply syrup or ketchup for the orders they delivered (many of which were cold). When the coffee first arrived, there was a container of sugar (which had caked on ketchup -seriously -does no one notice when they are dirty?) at one end of an 11 person table. No awareness by servers to check this. When a coffee refill arrived, I thought, great, they are aware, but the refill was cold -come on!! Also, they were out of cream (just had milk) and wheat bread. On a Saturday morning, whomever orders supplies could not guess you would need these items - or had the initiative to go to the grocery store and get them? The place was EMPTY. It would not have been a hardship. But now I know why it was empty.
On the plus side, I have heard this is a good bar (not great because there is apparently one long time bartender who is -not friendly- we'll say) and dinner spot. I came for dinner long ago and only remember a good time. I will come again at dinner time, never breakfast though.
Delicious place to spend Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving dinner was great. Great food and service
The staff was nice and very attentive to our table. The food came out quickly and was delicious.
We went to capo for their ‘friendsgiving’ and we couldn’t believe the value for money we got! It was 20 dollars per person for a full share style turkey dinner and a slice of pie. The meal was exquisite- i don’t know what part of it I liked most or least it was all so delicious! The festive buzz was also really enjoyable! We loved it so much we have booked another date night there for December!
