Chicago Cut Steakhouse redefines Chicago's steak-centric dining scene with signature USDA-certified prime beef, which is hand cut and dry aged on site. This is one of my go-to spots for client entertaining and great food. Matt stopped by the table to say hello to my guest--table 4! Love you, Matt!! Great customer service--impeccable!

A great place to take some out-of-town friends for Sunday brunch who were visiting for St. Patrick’s Day. We could take in the awesome view of the bright green river with their floor to ceiling windows. We had the butternut squash soup, filet mignon tacos and the lobster roll. Everything was delicious. The meal was finished off with an excellently tart slice of key lime pie.

My 60th Birthday was on March 16, 2019. My Sister made reservations to dine at Chicago Cut Steakhouse on Open Table on February 9, 2019 more than a month before Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 6:00 pm. In the special requirements she put Celebrating a milestone Birthday -- would like a riverside window table please. She received a telephone confirmation from the restaurant a few days before the date of our reservation with no indication there was any problem with the reservation.

When we arrived at the Chicago Cut Steakhouse on March 16th at 6:00 pm we were taken to a table right inside the Dining Room entrance on the Main Servers and Guests narrow path. We refused this table and told the hostess we had requested a window table and we were abruptly told there were no window tables available even though there were empty tables by the windows. She asked if I would like to talk to a Manager and I told her yes. When the Manager finally arrived after a long wait, again we were told there were no available tables by the window and the empty tables were reserved. When I questioned why the tables were reserved and we had a window table reservation for over a month. He then told us it was for “standing reservations”.

I was appalled by the way we were treated by the Manger and felt since it was two women we were being discriminated against. I did tell this to the Manager but he claimed it was not because we were two women alone. Then all of a sudden a window table became available and we were seated.

While we were waiting for the Manager I noticed two Waiters dividing an order for a table. One of the Waiters dropped his portion upside down on the filthy tray. He then proceeded to pick it up and put it on the plate then took it to the table to be served.

In the special requirements my sister put we were celebrating a milestone birthday. I did not receive any type of recognition for my birthday. We will not be returning.

The food and service were fantastic. Our waiter was great. We ordered several items that we wanted to split and they plated each item on separate plates for us. The filet tacos are a lunchtime bargain. It was very loud but fun.

Being someone from Alberta, I’m used to eating the best beef out there. But the skirt steak I had at Chicago Cut was honestly the best food I have ever eaten. And the asparagus and scalloped potatoes were also to die for. Our waiter Rodney was so personable and funny and made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. When he realized it was my birthday he brought me a dessert on the house which was delicious. The whole evening was great and our party had an amazing time.

The service is like no other restaurant. I am a vegetarian & the waiter went out of his way to accommodate me. The risotto is the best I have ever had. They even brought out a cake & candle for my husband's birthday as a surprise. I will be dining here again for sure. Great place especially for special occasions.

I've been here a handful of times, and I'm definitely not going back. It was one of the worst steaks I've eaten in a restaurant. The food was cooked fine, but the quality of the steak was subpar (it was a bone-in ribeye btw.) It was medium rare and had the consistency of a leather shoe.

We ordered steak medium rare and they came out burnt... we didn’t say anything of course but then my husband kept getting hit by the staff every 15 seconds. They try to get you in and it didn’t feel comfortable at all. 250.00 not worth it

The first time I went there, on a Monday night, everything was perfect - especially the Delmonico. We ordered the same steak this time, on a Saturday, and it was not nearly as good. A bit too charred on the outside.

Atmosphere was great. Food was definitely not worth the cost. Steak was mediocre. Ordered the porterhouse, medium rare, on recommendation from waiter, was a terrible cut. Seared crust was uneven and entire steak was unbalanced. Over-seared crust, tasted like it was burnt, and center was more of rare than medium-rare. Must’ve been a bad chef that day or just bad. Almost every other steakhouse I’ve been to, including chain restaurants, have had a better steak. I didn’t complain to waiter, just figured I’ll know never to come again... for food at least.

Morton’s is still by far in every way a better steak house. Thus place is more for show...a place to be seen. Great location and view but I was disappointed by the fast talking somewhat hyper waiter. My steamed crab legs came cold with literally empty shells!? I showed the waiter and he seemed flustered. He did offer another order which was nice. The mashed potatoes were spearing and too liquefied...not thick and delicious.
When we left we asked for our food to be wrapped up with our sides/sauces but the next day no sauces were packaged. Desert was unimpressive.

There's a reason this exquisite restaurant is always crowded--the lobster escargot. The shrimp chili was a nice surprise, you will find me there the next time it is soup du jour.

There aren't very many late night dining choices after ruling out diners and fast food. Having a great meal and fantastic service AFTER the theater is a special treat when it means going to Chicago Cut. The dining room might be empty but the staff is still on its toes and attentive to everything, from the table to the kitchen.

Food was prepared well and presented well. Good flavor of meat and very high quality. Ordered the filet. Eric provides exceptional service and was very attentive, as well as rest of staff. Restaurant itself is a bit dated and cutting knives could use some upgrading, but nice outside view of Chicago River.

It’s always a great experience! The staff is always very attentive and accommodating. We have always been seat at our reservation time or earlier, which is great! Definitely a place to go for delicious food and a lovely river view. You won’t be disappointed!

Honestly, I was pretty disappointed! My friend and I are doing a tour of Chicago steakhouses and have been wanting to try this one for a long time. The decor and ambiance are dated and impersonal - it looks like the restaurant needs a major upgrade to make it look competitive with other high-end steakhouses in Chicago.

When you go to the steakhouse, you expect great steak. It seemed like we were served the wrong meal as it came IMMEDIATELY (as we were mid-appetizer), so then we were rushed to move on to our entree. Our steaks were cooked wrong - we both asked for medium rare, they were completely rare (again, seemed like they gave us the wrong steaks). They took the steak back, threw it back on the grill, then returned the same, cut-into steaks back to us. At this point, they weren't juicy and a tad overcooked. Unacceptable. On that alone, I won't return. They comped a round of drinks and dessert, but I don't go to a steakhouse for dessert. I wanted a good steak.

Unfortunate, but we won't be returning. The service was good and food was otherwise decent, but having a ruined steak at a steakhouse is it for me.

May have been the best steaks we have ever had. The ambience was lovely & romantic. We also highly recommend asking for Sheldon! He was awesome!!

Far too loud, food quality not up to par with other steakhouses and we were asked to vacate our table immediately after dessert so others could be sat. Unacceptable.
