Cinquecento Roman Trattoria
I had fun food was yum
The food was amazing but our server was overwhelmed. He had no staff helping him pour water or run food and he was handling way too many tables. It took them 1 hour to take our dinner order. It was my friends birthday and I had put a note in the reservation and reminded the manager. The manager asked me what dessert before dinner but that was not transferred to the waiter and then he brought us dessert me us which confused things and then we got too much food way later than we expected.
We love sitting on the outside patio in the summer! The service and food are terrific and it's an all around lovely evening. It's our go to place!
We had a reservation but decided it was so nice- to eat outside. Alex was outstanding and made our dining experience great. We thank him so much for his professionalism and kindness.
The food was very good but getting the appetizer and entree at the same time is unacceptable.
We dined al fresco on a perfect summer night and the setting, food and service were great.
We were able to be seated right away on their patio after getting drinks at the outdoor bar. The service was amazing and the food was outstanding! Highly recommend!!
Atmosphere lovely outside, servers very nice. Had to ask for bread which was excellent. Pasta and clams - clams were large and tough, sauce was ok, brussel sprouts were soggy and burnt, branzino was good, not great - fillets were hard at the ends. Overall a nice venue but food is mediocre.
This should be a 5 stars review same as all my previous ones. In those reviews I also suggested to introduce non dairy options for the coffee drinks (cappuccino, latte ...). Unfortunately that hasn't happened yet hence my 1 star feedback for not paying attention to the customers feedback.
Great food, awesome brunch on the outdoor patio. Great value. Food was delicious!
I’ve eaten dinner here numerous times and always make a reservation, and this time, specifically asked for outdoor seating. There were 4 empty tables and we were told they were reserved, so we went to eat inside because we weren’t going to wait 30 mins for a table to open up when there were 4 open tables. Why bother making a reservation? I could’ve gotten into an argument with the maitre dummy, but that’s not why we’re there. Food was good, but not going back. The 4 tables were empty when we left and I doubt 4 parties cancelled. There’s plenty of other great restaurants where they honor the reservation system and gladly accept my payment.
Excellent service and delicious food! We are excited to go back again!
Our waitress was disinterested in providing good service, lacked knowledge of the menu and did not want to go the extra mile to accommodate any reasonable request
We waited for over 20 minutes after being seated and no one came to ask us what we wanted to order, my boyfriend had to get up and ask the hostess if we could get a waiter. She finally showed up , we asked for sparkling water, she took the bottle that was sitting on the table because it was warm to get a cold one, she didn’t come back😂. When she finally did, she told us, I know I owe you a bottle of water but would you like put in an order for something to eat? We placed an order for appetizers , they were amazing by the way, but still no water and she said she forgot to put in our drinks order earlier so she was going upstairs to put them in😩! That’s almost an hour since we’ve been seating! No water, no drinks! But we had our appetizers quick! Few minutes after we had our appetizers, our main dishes were brought, we looked at each other like woah that was quick we just put them in! Oh well! That was not our food, we didn’t order any fish! The waitress cane over looked at the plates and said sorry she gave them to the table next to us! She apologized laughed and said “ am sorry I know I look a little off, I don’t know what’s going on” we laughed with her and said we noticed but it’s ok! Anyway she finally brought our food and water! We were dying to eat and leave lol the service was kinda frustrating but the beautiful ambience helped! We talked and enjoyed the weather while painfully waiting for Service😒! I didn’t bother to ask for the waitress’s name but I know she had reddish hair up in a bun😀!
Our waiter Emanuel was superb. Food quality is good too but for $40 I was expecting a little more meat when I ordered the lamb chops. Overall a great place.
disappointed in food. quality not up to first time I ate there
Beautiful restaurant! Good drinks, attentive service, and a full exciting menu. we did order the octopus and this is is such a small dish it should be called a "bite", but other than that portions were great and we all enjoyed.
This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I had made a reservation earlier in the week and had requested a booth for this special occasion. Unfortunately when we arrived we were given a round table and were told we would have to wait 15-20 minutes. We were willing to. After 20 minutes we were told that the table they told us would be available was accidentally not a booth but another table. We then waited another 15 minutes until we finally got our booth. This was over 40 minutes after we arrived. Overall food was great but the process of getting what we requested had issues.
Ordered the rib eye steak which turned out to be tough and tasteless. Our waitress offered to replace it immediately without hesitation. Ordered a pasta dish which came quickly and was outstanding as were all the other meals at the table. Great customer service!
Nice place. Free parking in adjacent lot. We’ll be back!
It’s my third time here and I’ve got to say- never disappointed. Good food and atmosphere. Service was good after a bumpy start. There was a waitress in training that had a few early stumbles but the head waitress took over and had everything going smoothly. Many groups sat outside and enjoyed the evening but we opted for inside and were glad for the low key and quieter setting for our early dinner. Definitely will go back.
it was at best OK for brunch, bland plate for cacao e Pepe - 5 potatoes thrown on a plate, plain toast with nothing on it and eggs, zero color. No sides for toast or potatoes, for $14. Plate definitely way overpriced for what it was. Asked for a muffin to start, didn't come out until the meal. Had to keep flagging down waitress for coffee refills. They forgot bacon side.
Pretty decent place for brunch!
We arrived at Cinquecento for our reservation but because we wanted to sit outside, there were no immediate seats available. The staff let us know that it should be around a 20-25 min wait. After about 30-35 min of waiting the staff let us know that despite paying and not ordering anything else, the people sitting at the large table (we needed for our group) wasn't in any hurry. To accommodate us the manager brought each of us a drink from the bar and had his team set up a new table outside. The customer service was superb as was the food. I can't say enough good things about this place and will 100% be back.
Came with my husband last Saturday for dinner. We had a reservation and when we arrived, got seated right away. The main dinning room looked very nice, so as outside patio. Drinks and appetizers were served pretty fast. We ordered octopus and bruschetta. Octopus was tender, but had no flavor, bruschetta was excellent. For the main course I ordered Fettuccine ai Funghi e Tartufi and my husband ordered Branzino. What can I say - Branzino was just perfect - the presentation, crisp skin, the way it was cooked, served with mushrooms, just great. My dish was a disappointment. First, they made it with spaghetti, not fettuccini. Had to ask them to change and the right dish came very fast. The pasta was done perfectly, it was creamy but unfortunately had no flavor whatsoever. Also, there was no trace of the truffles. Had to ask the waitress to bring salt, pepper and lots of parmesan to "improve" this pasta. Tiramisu was very good. In general the whole dining experience would be OK (Cheff is a human too, allowed to forget to season the dish sometimes) if we would have a friendlier waitress. She was serving another table next to us, they got the same "attention" as we did.
We enjoyed our first dining experience at Cinquecento on the outdoor patio. The vibe was relaxed and casual. Our waiter was friendly and gave us time to explore the menu.
The appetizers were delicious. We were curious about the watermelon gazpacho but a little hesitant to order. The chef surprised us with a complimentary amuse-bouche (tasting) of the appetizer. It was fantastic!
The flavors and food presentation were delicious and appealing. The wine selection was good. Food was prepared to perfection.
My only negative comments are: table service was uneven. For a restaurant of this caliber, the table bussing and service was spotty. Dishes were removed and cutlery was not replaced before our mains arrived. We sat there staring at our food, as it cooled off while waiting for knives and forks. Our waiter never came to check-in to see if our mains were prepared to our liking.
Finally - the tree kept dropping seeds on the table. I half-joked that our drinks needed covers. Yes, they can't control the tree but they can provide a solution as it became annoying and our water glasses were replaced because they kept filling up with leaves/seeds.
We will definitely return for a special occasion -- this was at the higher end of our budget for a casual dining experience.
cacie e pepe was disappointing, way to peppery.
atmosphere was very cute!
My wife and Son took me to Cinquecento Roman Trattoria for Father's Day. We have been here several times before but this visit was pretty bad, bad to the point where I don't think we'll be running back any time soon.
After being seated promptly and after waiting patiently for fifteen minutes I had to return to the host to ask for service. They had literally forgotten about us. Now this was a relatively early dinner and the restaurant was at approximately 30% capacity so I don't think it was a matter of the wait staff being overwhelmed. After placing our order, and throughout the dinner the wait staff was barely seen and our food was overdone for me, cold for my wife and Son. We are truly disappointed.
Previous to this visit we have been generally happy with all aspects but this visit as I said was bad enough for us to think twice about a return.
Staff was great food was amazing atmosphere was also great
Very nice staff; enjoyed the food and outdoor seating.
Amazing experience altogether
For the price point, we expected more. More food, more knowledge, better service. Seemed to be a bit disjointed. Has potential.
Dinner was fantastic. It was a beautiful evening to sit on the patio and we had a marvelous time!
2 1/2 hours to get our meal because our ticket didn’t print
We had an experience that virtually missed the mark in many areas including:
1. Distinctly dismissive welcoming by the Maitre d'
2 Waiting 20 minutes for our drinks
3. Waiting 30 minutes for our appetizers
4. No apology for the delay by the waiter.
5. Offer by Maitre d' of complimentary desserts, but he did nothing to help facilitate service at any of the tables.
6. The food was overly peppery -- linguine vongole without reason.
7. The restaurant was not full inside -- I counted at least 8 empty tables.
8. The meal took 2 hours and 45 minutes.
9. We couldn't wait to leave the premises, so we left the desserts in the kitchen.
N.B. - We rarely write negative reviews. No surprise - we won't return.
9. One positive -- the parking is free
The restaurant seemed quite understaffed the night we were there. We had a table of 8 people. From the time we sat down the pace was very slow. It seemed to take forever just to put a drink order in let alone actually receive said drinks. Three people in our party ordered appetizers and it took them an hour to arrive to the table. The server was no where to found to place additional drink orders or to inquire as to when entrees would be arriving.
Service was not great. Server was not very attentive, food took a long time to reach the table. Was never offered a second drink...
We were a large group and probably a bit boisterous. The staff were super in meeting our needs and keeping the evening moving. The food was great, antipasto, pasta and mains.
Yet another fabulous meal at Cinquecento!
Mostly very good, with some oddities, including the fact that they had no bread (ran out by 7:45) which happened the last time I was there as well. Also, the octopus app, which used to be a highlight, is now a dry, minuscule portion (again, just like last visit). But the pastas were excellent, including the always-popular bolognese and rigatoni. Service was great...friendly, fun, and attentive. Will certainly return, but worried there will be more negative changes to the winning formula of this long-standing favorite.
