We decided not to play it safe and instead took a tour through the menu, and I'm glad we did because every single dish felt like a headliner. The A5 Wagyu was pure decadence. Rich, buttery, and so perfectly prepared that it almost defies description. It's one of those bites that makes the entire table stop talking for a moment. Then came the Duck Confit Fried Rice, which may very well be the most underrated star of the evening. Comfort food elevated to an art form—crispy, savory, luxurious, and somehow still balanced. The sushi flights were spectacular from start to finish. Every piece showcased incredible freshness, precision, and restraint. Nothing was overcomplicated. Nothing was trying too hard. It was simply world-class fish prepared by people who understand exactly when to let the ingredients speak for themselves. What impressed me most was that there wasn't a weak link all night. We hit all the classics, all the signature dishes, and every one of them delivered. The service was polished without being stuffy, attentive without hovering, and the pacing allowed us to genuinely enjoy each course as it arrived. In a region filled with extraordinary restaurants, Morimoto still manages to stand apart. It's elegant without pretension, innovative without gimmicks, and memorable without needing to shout for attention. Simply put, it was one of those meals you find yourself talking about long after you've paid the bill. If you're visiting Napa and only have a few dinners to work with, Morimoto deserves a spot at the very top of the list.More infoMorimoto - Napa$$$$• Japanese• Napa•4.5

- CCoreneGoldSacramento / Sacramento Valley •122 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThis was their Whiskey Dinner. Totally different than some of their other wine dinners, but Loved it. Chef Alan BBQ’d a Whole Branzino Fish as one of the courses. It was SO good! All the food was good, and fun to try with Whiskey.More infoOmakase Por Favor - Lincoln$$$$• Seafood• Lincoln•4.9

- CClaySacramento / Sacramento Valley •4 reviews5.0Dined on May 2, 2026This is great place to experience Omakase and it is surprisingly located in downtown Davis. Food quality is superb especially for fishes and sea urchin. Chef patiently answered my questions during the meal and well introduced the idea behind each course. Definitely will be back for a different seasonal menu in the future.More infoHikari Sushi & Omakase$$$$• Sushi• Davis•4.9
