This was our first experience of a Japanese restaurant specialising in hibachi (charcoal) cooking and it is world-class fare. We started with the raw kingfish on a bed of fennel, a vegetable I don’t care for usually. The kingfish was juicy and tender and the fennel (pickled perhaps?) was very tasty. I ended up competing with my wife for the last shreds of it! Then we had pork gyoza, a favourite, and it too was outstanding. The sauce, in particular, was brilliant. In fact, all the sauces at Soku are out of this world. Our main course was chicken skewers; again, tender and juicy. We can’t wait to dine at Soku again!!!
