Duck Pond Cellars was established in 1993 and has been crafting delightful wines ever since. We have a beautiful tasting room and vineyard where guests are made to feel invited and welcome. In 2018 we changed hands and partnered with Ransom Wine and Spirits. Established in 1997, Ransom is celebrating 25 years as an alembic distillery, artisan wine company and vermouth house. Just 20 minutes from downtown Portland. This place held promise for much more than the rugged fields and scattered stands of fir trees foretold. After careful planning and site preparation the professionals were brought in to evaluate what grapes would grow best here on Pete's Mountain; 3 acres of Chardonnay & 19 acres of Pinot Noir. The rows were plotted to make the best use of how the sun moved across the sky. The soil was turned and stakes set in place. Acre after acre the vines were planted and strung up to take what nature had for them in this new home. One never quite knows what will happen. We waited. We were delighted to serve Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, White Pinot Noir, Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc & more. Join us for a glass of wine and appetizers or make a reservation for our Thursday night dinners, we still offer apps & wine too!!! Outside seating weather permitting, with a beautiful view of the vineyards and the pond.

    Nostrana is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland! It is always a pleasure to be a part of an evening there! Out of town guests rave about it making it a go to place when friends are visiting. The wine steward is very knowledgeable and offers great recommendations. The food is delicious and the menu offers a good range of items.

    We went on a very wet Monday with no one else in the place. The attendant was very helpful and full of information about the wines and spirits available. He helped us pick a choice for each of us. Then he went off to make our Meltdown sandwiches while we enjoyed the wine. The sandwiches were fabulous too. We walked out feeling like it was a perfect experience despite the weather.
