What a disappointment.
The table was a full hour late and the steaks took another 90 minutes to arrive. By that time nobody at the table was hungry anymore.
To be fair, they showered us in free apps and dessert but overall it was still pretty embarassing.
Everything was great but the steak. I came here for the steak so was really disappointed. Ordered the 35 day aged rib eye. Was one of the toughest rib eyes Ive ever eaten :(
Came here for DINELA 19. Not sure what the restaurant is like during regular season but they were super ill-prepared. Had rezzie 10pm, was not seated until 10:45. The hostesses just let us stand, lean, and slouch all over the waiting area and did not even lift a finger to offer any complimentary water or ANYTHING for that matter.
DINE LA value is decent, however, first and main dish came out tepid and not hot. I HATE tepid food. Overall 3 out of 5; but 2.5 out of 5 for $$ restaurant.
My favorite restaurant in LA. Service is the best and food is delicious always.
Reservations mean nothing at this restaurant. Not sure why they even bother to take them. We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try a different steakhouse. Very sorry we tried Cut. Never again. We were seated one hour past our reservation time. No offer to provide us a complimentary cocktail or appetizer or dessert acknowledging their poor service. The food was definitely not up to a top tier steakhouse standards. Steaks were not cooked to order. Tough, chewy and mediocre in flavor. But the prices were certainly what a top tier steakhouse would be. Totally lacking in great customer service. Go elsewhere if you are looking for a great steak!
Probably the best dining experience. My husband and I were impressed by the service and the food was delicious. I rave about this place to everyone I know.
Kicked off 2019 DineLA at Chef Wolfgang’s CUT restaurant. Great curated menu at such a good price point!! Every course served to perfection! The service was absolutely on point! Not to mention the surprise table greeting by Chef WP himself was pretty awesome!!! Cheers 2019!! Thank you for a great dining experience!
It was my 2nd 50th celebration of my birth and this was an stunning venue and food really made everything pop🔥
Great place. Good food, but service some times very slow.
In the past my favorite restaurants haven’t done a great job on holidays like NYE, Valentines Day, etc. We chose to come to CUT on NYE and they did not disappoint us in the least. They designed a menu that was unique for the occasion but also giving the frequent diner the ability to choose their usual favorites. Excellently prepared, excellently served just like every visit. This remains one of our favorite restaurants in LA.
Another fantastic dining experience at CUT, thank you.
Just plain and simple
Food is very tasty but you have to know that it's also very pricy. Wait staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I'm not sure if we got there at a bad time where the waiters were changing shifts when we first got there but there were too many people greeting our table. One waiter came to show us the meats and then a few minutes later, another waiter came to do the same. It was slightly disorganized but the rest of the meal went swimmingly.
We celebrated our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The desert came with a delicately written "happy anniversary " which was a nice touch. We made our reservation online which was very efficient. Seating us and making orders was fast and easy. Ceasar took care of us, he was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. Enjoyed the evening very much. Definitely will recommend to family and friends, and will return.
Japanese Wagyu was out of this world!
Delicious and special! The service was exceptional!
The Japanese wagu was delicious and the sides (wild mushrooms and celery roots) but the dry age ribeye was a little dry; the American wagu was not as flavorful. Go only if you want the Japanese Wagu.
Everything was perfect as expected!
Our waiter Billy was gracious and outstanding
Baby tossing at the table on one side of us (yes, people actually had a roughly 8 month old baby in a Michelin restaurant at 9:15p and passed it around a table while tossing it in the air like a ball. I’m thinking they won a gift certificate to CUT because surly someone who can afford such a fine dining experience would actually have the manners and common sense to know how inappropriate every aspect of that is). Privacy violations (all the ridiculous photos people take). Migraine inducing flash photography of food that people will never look at again or that will annoy all of those who see it on social media. Migraine inducing phone flashlight waved around while talking with hands (used to read menu and signal aliens). Young guys dressed like gang bangers seated at table on the other side of us. Rude & unhelpful server who was so insightful (sarcasm) to point out that everyone in the restaurant is in fact “a paying customer”. Steak NOT cooked as ordered, sent back, obviously causing us to be unable to eat our meals together. Table not ready at reservation time. $500 bill for two people (fine if it wasn't such a miserable experience). Upper management (Wolfgang’s two right hand female managers) blowing off an extensive, insightful and detailed complaint email outlining the horrible experience by saying “thank you so much, we’ll use this to grow” and when I asked in a response email “Great, how do you plan on using this to grow? What changes are going to be integrated to ensure a repeat experience doesn’t occur in the event that we return?” I was, have been and continue to be ignored (I waited 3 weeks for a response). I’m sure Wolfgang is thinking #ProudWolfgangMoment on this one. Also, #ProudMichelinMoment I’m sure… I would personally remove their star after everything that occurred. If any of the above sounds good to you, give CUT a try...but remember, I warned you.
Food was excellent, including the side dishes and the breads. We had to make an effort to stop eating the bread. The meat was
Service was excellent. People were very nice and made us feel very well taken care off.
The price of our meal was on the high side, so you go there prepared to spend serious money.
For those prices, it would be nice to have tablecloths and much less noise so that one can have a conversation during dinner.
Ahh, AND the chocolate souffle was DELICIOUS.
We will go back there
Our food came out wrong after long wait. They redid food and it was very good. They were very nice to pay for our meal. Service was nice. Decor was a little bland. Art was nice and chairs were very comfortable.
Always a great place to go!
Food and cocktails were delicious. The only downside was that it took way too long for our entrees to come out. Also, our server was not as attentive as we had expected. We had to flag down other servers a few times during our meal.
Our party of 3 ended up going for the tomahawk steak ($250) - it was on the tough and stringy side. We relayed this to our server and he asked if we wanted something else, but given how slow service was up until then we said just pass it on to the chef. Kind of disappointing that they didn't try to do anything to make up for the lame steak.
Superb service, menu and food. Only nit was that, of the two couples in our group, the leftover chicken dishes were combined into one take-home box. Eww. We were the couple that got everyone's chicken and didn't want to eat our friends' leftovers so it all went out to the trash. Our friends missed their chicken.
Steak was great, service was bad from reception to sever. So unfriendly for the price we spent. Maybe that's the reason why they are still at Michelin watch list from 2007.
I took a birthday macaroons to the restaurant for my daughters birthday and asked if they could present them with a Happy Birthday and a candle. They said they could and then proceeded to bring the macaroons out in the box on a plate. No happy birthday and no candle...disappointing !!
Best Meal I’ve had in Los Angeles, I’m not from LA, I was visiting from San Francisco for the holidays. Our server Brian was very nice, informative, attentive, friendly, and welcoming, food passed our expectations. Over great experience will Always come back when I’m back in Los Angeles
The food was authentically amazing. The noise level was a bit loud but does not affect the quality of the service and menu. The staff really know their craft and you can depend on them to direct you with making the right choices if you are stumped with all the choices.
I probably won’t go back. My rib-eye cost $66. For that price, I expect to eat one of the best steaks of my life. Far from it. The steak was over-cooked (I ordered it medium rare and it arrived medium to medium well). The outside was charred to the point of being burned. I didn’t send it back because I didn’t feel like dealing with it. The side dishes were unremarkable. Wine list was full of $300 and $500 bottles and not much below $200, which is ridiculous. Service was reasonably attentive. Atmosphere is modern and a bit cold. There are plenty of restaurants in town to get a great steak. No need to go bankrupt at Cut.
The steak may be great but the sides are superb. I have never had better white Japanese sweet potato and assorted squashes in my life. Truly memorable preparations. Such inventive and original dishes I would like to go back and order every single side dish. The only downside is the noise so try to request a quiet booth ahead of time if that is important to you. The main floor is very loud.
The ribeye what I ordered was a little bit overcooked. I expected is a medium with a crispy shell and juicy inside. But when I cut it, it's a 70% gray inside the meat. But the service is very friendly, careful. And the dessert chocolate soufflé is amazing good, and the coffee there is unforgettable smooth. I will still recommend Cut, hope the steak will be good for me next time.
Me and my wife were on honeymoon, and we were looking forward to coming to The Cut. However, the food is absolutely disappointing... The steak is dry and tasteless, I have never had such bad quality of steak in my entire life! I can cook better than the chef there! The appetiser and dessert is fine, but seriously the steak and the side dishes taste so awful that we couldn't eat... Our waiter's service is great, very friendly. But one thing they can also improve is the waiting time for the table. We booked at 8:30 and arrived 2 minutes earlier than scheduled, but we were told to wait for more than 10 minutes for the table...
The food was delicious, the service outstanding
Delicious meal once again. We started with the Pork Belly appetizer with a delightful 'sweet and sourish' glaze. The bread served alongside was quite tasty as were the Cheese Gougeres. My cousin shared her whole Roasted Poussin and Cavateppi with 2 cheeses. I enjoyed Crab Cakes and a Salad of Winter Lettuces, Fruit, Toasted Nuts, Pecorino Romano and Champagne Vinaigrette. The four petite desserts (2 chocolate, 2 fruity) were very tasty as well. I haven't been to one of Wolfgang P.'s restaurants that did not have really tasty food.
