- CClifvipSan Francisco Bay Area •47 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoDelicious renditions of gourmet Mexican dishes. The heirloom tomatoes are outstanding (is that soy sauce with the balsamic?)! The "a la roca" hot rock dishes are fun (shrimp and Waygu). The ahi tuna "ceviche-like" dish was fantastic. I loved the guacamole topped with rib-eye steak. The Maine lobster enchiladas were incredible. I loved the six salsas, mild to hot. I asked for the hottest. The server brought us an orange colored fruity-hot sauce, made of habernos, serranoes, and jalapenos. It was excellent...but not for the faint of heart! We were celebrating a birthday in our party of six. A complimentary large piece of tasty Tres Leches with a "July Fourth-Like" roman candle on top, was a perfect finish to the meal. My only critical feedback was with the wine. Our waiter was very good. He asked if we wanted a bottle of wine. I said, "with all of the salsas and spicyness we have had, we don't want anything too fancy...just a house wine." He brought out two bottles of red wine from Mexico to choose from (Cabernet and Piete Syrah blends). It was my fault for not asking the price, but he sold us a bottle at a $164 per bottle price...it was good, but not what I would expect as a "house wine" price point. I will not let that prevent me from returning. I should have asked the price of the wine before buying it.More infoThe MexicanPrice: Very Expensive• Mexican• Design District•4.7
