The Holcombe is owned and run by Alan and Caroline, both trained chefs who are passionate about growing food, sourcing local produce & protecting the environment.

After 30 years running successful London based catering & event companies, they decided to “escape to the country” and bought The Holcombe in November 2019, a few months before the pandemic hit! Whilst closed they took the opportunity to redecorate The Inn.

They look forward to welcoming you now they are open again.

We had the Set Lunch during the busy half term. Swordfish was beautiful with lovely dessert. It was relaxed and with excellent service. Good value. One of our favourite restaurants.

As expected from a Michelin star restaurant, the food and service were absolutely impeccable. The restaurant itself is nice and spacious with a good atmosphere. I've eaten in a few starred restaurants, and this is most certainly in the top few percent. Excellent all round.

We had the Yak Yeti Yak chicken and beef, along with a couple of side dishes. Everything was incredibly good and the atmosphere was lovely. Definitely want to go back!

We are not a ‘fancy pants’ establishment. Not in the least. We offer good quality, home-cooked, locally sourced (where possible) food. 90% of our menu is made on the premises. Certainly not ‘Pub Grub’ but not ‘Gastro Pub’ either. It’s good value for money. However, our standards are high, very high. Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.
We are a dog friendly establishment, very dog friendly. However, please tell us at the time of booking so that we can place you in our Bar area , as opposed to our Restaurant.

such an amazing experience from all the staff. i actually got engaged just after our main meal. we ordered a dessert and we got it for free with a sparkler and 2 free glasses of champagne!! such lovely people working in there 🩷
