Our local favorite: wonderful staff, food, presentation, and detail-orientation. We feel appreciated and well-cared-for, without exception.
Great to be there and Mother Nature produced fantastic producing a memorable electrical storm!!
Food perfect, service outstanding.
Great atmosphere, great service and delicious food!
In my mind, this is the best restaurant in the Upper Valley. It is our go-to for special occasions. I begin with an inventive and delicious cocktail and can always count on a meal (usually fish for me) that has fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables and a flavorful sauce. Even stuffed, I can't resist the Bananas Foster bread pudding. Middle tables can feel a bit busy, but no complaints. Fantastic every time.
Elixir was totally on point, as it usually is. Excellent value wine list, soups--carrot ginger coconut and cabot cheddar/broccoli were both sublime. Veal scallopine and shrimp scampi were wonderful. Service was friendly and attentive, despite being a busy night.
We tried Elixir on the recommendation of a friend. Our server was attentive but not overly so, and full of info on the sources of the food and how it was prepared. All local sourced and prepared fresh. We had an outstanding meal and will visit again when in the area.
Just here in White River for the day. I wanted a nice, but casual, place to take my mom for her birthday. This place was amazing. Food was perfectly cooked. Service was impeccable. Definitely recommend
Elixer has maintained high standards for the five years that we have been dining there. The food is excellent, as is the service. The cocktails and wines are also first rate and imaginative. The owner pays attention to the restaurant and it shows in the quality that it maintains. Go out of your way to eat there. It's worth it.
I make infrequent trips to the New London NH area, but I always find time to drive the 30 minutes to White River Junction VT solely to dine at Elixir.
Elixir continues to be our goto place when we’re in the White River Junction area. We have never been disappointed with the quality of the food, drinks, and service.
Elixir is always excellent - a terrific menu, great food, and our server was wonderful and attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening celebrating our mom's birthday!
This is a wonderful place to dine! Our go to place for special occasions and just “because”
It was the first visit for my wife and I on a Saturday night. The room was pretty full when we arrived at 8:45p.m. for dinner. The waiter was very friendly and thorough. We started with cocktails and they were fantastic! We had an arlini-tini which had Absolut vodka, ginger liquor and lime juice and an Elixer manhattan. Both drinks were done very well. Our entrees were so flavorful. I had the salmon and my wife had the vegetable risotto. The salmon was cooked medium to perfection and the greens had a brown butter finish that was incredible. My wife was thoroughly happy with her risotto. We finished with creme brulee and espresso to top off a wonderful meal. We would definitely recommend this place. The ingredients were all very fresh and so flavorful.
Terrific meals in an adaptively-reused railroad freight house (complete with a view of the classic White River Junction train station), with friendly and careful service.
The food was very good, the service was excellent and they were able to handle my son's food allergies so that he could have what he wanted for dinner.
As ever, Skip and his staff create a wonderful evening! We were going to Northern Stage for a performance and Elaina helped make certain that we were well paced and walked out the door happy and not late!
One of our favorite restaurants in the Upper Valley. A limited menu, but everything we've tried has been phenomenal. Good bar and reasonable prices for an upscale restaurant.
We have been coming back to Elixir because we love the food and the friendly atmosphere. One of the best options in the Upper Valley area.
Everything was so delicious!
Excellent food, lovely service. As good if not better than many highly touted restaurants in Manhattan at 1/2 the price!
Always a favorite when we are in the area. Great wine selection and menu satisfies all. The owner/host is very accommodating. We look forward to our next meal there!
Always a delightful experience, relaxed, great service, and nice food choices that are well-prepared.
On Vermont trip with my wife. Restaurant seemed to get good reviews so we went. Thought it may be too much like bar food. It was not!!! Drinks and food are reasonably priced and the quality was excellent. The waitress was good. I have nothing bad to say about the experience. If I’m staying in the area again, I’ll go to Elixer again
This was our first time at Elixir. We'll definitely be back. Excellent menu and service!!
Great food, great service ! Had a very steady flow of patrons, always a good sign.
We made this reservation months ago and confirmed through Open Table the day before. We were on a vacation trip out of town and drove a ways to have this (special) meal. The restaurant was closed for vacation. It is unbelievable how hat neither Open Table or Elixir did not let us know that our confirmed reservation was bogus.
We always enjoy dining at Elixir. It's the best restaurant in WRJ.
Service A+ , food & drinks very good . Nice restaurant in WRJ VT .
A very enjoyable meal. I enjoyed a nicely seasoned, somewhat salty carrot ginger toasted coconut soup, huge flavor. The local, seeded/local sourdough was fresh, and the vegetable rissotto was complex and tasty (I found the abundant goat cheese a distraction, but obviously some folks would love that) . This dish feeds two. The craft cocktails will be further explored another time. The "Crazy Jane" bev was potent and yummy, a veritable dessert martini. Service was attentive and warm. I'll be back.
We introduced friends to Elixir and they were happy and liked the quality of the food.
Would have given five stars but we had a reservation and we arrived on time but it took at least ten to fifteen minutes for us to be seated.
It is a small place and had a limited menu. I had scallops and hubby had shrimp scampi...delicious! Good wine selection. Our server, Jim, made the experience enjoyable and was very informative and attentive. I would go back.
We make a point to eat at Elixir whenever we travel to the WRJ area. Our meals are consistently superb.
Relaxed environment with attentive, friendly waitstaff and wonderful food. You can never go wrong with the scallops, although my husband thoroughly enjoyed his short ribs.
The food was delicious and aesthetically appealing. Everyone raves about their meals. My only complaint was that there was some sand in my scallops. They were delicious so I ate them all anyway. I figure it is very difficult to remove all sand from shellfish so I would let it go. I was t going to say anything but my husband mentioned it in passing to the server as she was clearing our plates. When she returned with the check, she said that the owner was apologetic and had removed the cost of my meal from the bill. This was a nice surprise. Classy move which we appreciated. I would definitely recommend Elixir. It was the best dining experience of our trip to the Upper Valley.
On our way to a concert we stopped for a bite to eat. We were short on time with only 45 minutes. We advised the owner and the lady attending to our table. We shared the antipato and the fig and bacon au gratin. It was delicious and we were on our way on time. Thank you very much, a good address ro keep in mind next time that I will have more time to sample a full course dinner.
As always for the last 10 years Elixir does not disappoint. From a warm welcome from Skip as you walk in to amazing service From Lana and Shawn! Don’t forget the food that’s never fail ! It’s nice to know that you have a place to have dinner away from home that feels like home !
We went here for the second time the night before the covered bridges half marathon. The food is outstanding and so well worth the price. An exceptional value.
Elixir is one of our favorite restaurants in the Upper Valley. Have been there many times over the last five years, and they never disappoint. This time, I had the short ribs, after being assured the beef grass fed. They were wonderful, very tender and tasty. With chunk mashed potatoes, and perfectly cooked fresh broccolini. We also shared some mussels, which were voluptuous, in a very tasty coconut sauce. Topped it all off with a nice cappuccino. Great experience. That's why it's always busy.
