Service A+ , food & drinks very good . Nice restaurant in WRJ VT .
A very enjoyable meal. I enjoyed a nicely seasoned, somewhat salty carrot ginger toasted coconut soup, huge flavor. The local, seeded/local sourdough was fresh, and the vegetable rissotto was complex and tasty (I found the abundant goat cheese a distraction, but obviously some folks would love that) . This dish feeds two. The craft cocktails will be further explored another time. The "Crazy Jane" bev was potent and yummy, a veritable dessert martini. Service was attentive and warm. I'll be back.
We introduced friends to Elixir and they were happy and liked the quality of the food.
Would have given five stars but we had a reservation and we arrived on time but it took at least ten to fifteen minutes for us to be seated.
It is a small place and had a limited menu. I had scallops and hubby had shrimp scampi...delicious! Good wine selection. Our server, Jim, made the experience enjoyable and was very informative and attentive. I would go back.
We make a point to eat at Elixir whenever we travel to the WRJ area. Our meals are consistently superb.
The food was delicious and aesthetically appealing. Everyone raves about their meals. My only complaint was that there was some sand in my scallops. They were delicious so I ate them all anyway. I figure it is very difficult to remove all sand from shellfish so I would let it go. I was t going to say anything but my husband mentioned it in passing to the server as she was clearing our plates. When she returned with the check, she said that the owner was apologetic and had removed the cost of my meal from the bill. This was a nice surprise. Classy move which we appreciated. I would definitely recommend Elixir. It was the best dining experience of our trip to the Upper Valley.
On our way to a concert we stopped for a bite to eat. We were short on time with only 45 minutes. We advised the owner and the lady attending to our table. We shared the antipato and the fig and bacon au gratin. It was delicious and we were on our way on time. Thank you very much, a good address ro keep in mind next time that I will have more time to sample a full course dinner.
As always for the last 10 years Elixir does not disappoint. From a warm welcome from Skip as you walk in to amazing service From Lana and Shawn! Don’t forget the food that’s never fail ! It’s nice to know that you have a place to have dinner away from home that feels like home !
We went here for the second time the night before the covered bridges half marathon. The food is outstanding and so well worth the price. An exceptional value.
Elixir is one of our favorite restaurants in the Upper Valley. Have been there many times over the last five years, and they never disappoint. This time, I had the short ribs, after being assured the beef grass fed. They were wonderful, very tender and tasty. With chunk mashed potatoes, and perfectly cooked fresh broccolini. We also shared some mussels, which were voluptuous, in a very tasty coconut sauce. Topped it all off with a nice cappuccino. Great experience. That's why it's always busy.
Hadn't been to Elixir in several years, and I was pleased to be reminded of how great this place is! Friendly social environment, excellent food. Had a drink at the bar first and enjoyed chatting with the talented and amiable bartender. We'll return soon!
Elixir's is one of the very best restaurants in the area.
Had a really great meal despite the second worst table in the restaurant. With a better table and less of a crowd, it would have been wonderful! We'll go back again.
Outstanding as always! Wish the restaurant was closer to our home but it is always a treat to dine there.
We ate in an intimate dining area of the restaurant and, so, both enjoyed our meals and the conversation we were able to have. The ambiance, service and food quality were all excellent.
Only area for an upgrade would be the liquor offerings..... sparse gin selection.
Elixir never disappoints. It’s been a little while since we’ve dined here, however, everything was just as remembered; and if not better!
The salmon entrees were exquisite and flavorful.
Yanaris, our server, was on top of her game without being intrusive, and delivered amazing service.
Thank you Elixir, for making a special night out an especially memorable one.
You are a gem.
Fantastic food, great service.
The food is delicious at Elixir and the service is excellent. The only downside is, if you do not have a reservation (which we did, of course), you will have a hard time getting noticed. The host is frazzled as the place is too busy for the amount of people working on a Saturday night. It was a great experience and everyone is pleasant. Decent wine list as well.
Outstanding farm to fork food, great drinks and wine list. Most importantly the people are committed to a spirit of quality and intimacy. A unique treasure.
Great proprietor and friendly staff. Fun place with delicious food.
We had another wonderful meal at Elixir Restaurant in White River Junction. I have recommended this restaurant to many of my friends. The Truffle Fries are wonderful. My favorite dish continues to be the Crispy Chicken Thigh Piccata which is served on polenta with a delicious sauce and garnished with spinach. At this point, I have tried just about everything on the menu and each dish has been wonderful.
Everything was fabulous! If we had anything to suggest, it would be to “fancy up” a bit more the ice cream sandwich we had for dessert. Otherwise, it was the perfect spot to celebrate our 35th anniversary.
I want to rave about this place, and I can come very close: the salad elixir was good, but a little salty; the chicken in my chicken piccata was cooked perfectly, but the polenta cake it came with was soggy and more custard-like than cake-like. The cocktails were yummy and everything was very fresh. The service was excellent. Let's chalk this visit up to a snobby foodie on an unforgiving day and I will try again another day.
Great dinner. Food was delicious and service was nice.
I haven't been to Elixir in over a decade, but found it to be even more of an impressive, high quality dining experience. It has evolved into a truly great restaurant experience. The truffled chicken liver mousse was wonderful: all of the food we had was innovative, delicious and well presented. The wine (a Parker Station Pinot Noir, 2015 Santa Monica) was so smooth and delicious I went out to find where I could buy a bottle), and half the price per glass I'm used to paying for wine. I will certainly make this a regular venue, and would recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
One of my favorite restaurants for a special occasion.
Elixir is one of the standout establishments in the area and never fails to please. Notable in our most recent visit is the $20 wine list, and the PEI Mussels in a coconut curry sauce which were so tasty we were left wondering why the heck we hadn't ordered them on an earlier visit.
I had to restrain myself from licking the plate!
Very nice. Great food and services
A second delightful experience. Wonderful all around; service, food, atmosphere all great!
Food was excellent and server was so knowledgeable. Very clean too.
On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, my wife, I, and two very good friends, had dinner there. It was excellent. The owner is very nice. He listens to our preferences. The service is excellent. It is quiet there, which we like.
Recommended by friends Quite a nice experience and wonderful staff
We had one of the best dining experiences ever! The service was spot on.... Amazing! The food was delicious and the portions were very generous! Dessert was a great way to finish the night! We will definitely return
A Truly enjoyable dining experience and evening. Atmosphere was warm and food was delicious!! My favorite!!
Another fabulous dinner at Elixir. Consistently a great place to dine, whether alone at the bar or at a table with friends. The menu is small but everything on there is excellent, and the staff cheerfully handles special dietary requests.
Reservation system worked very well. Greeter and waitress/server were very good. Steak was not even close to prepared as ordered and had to be sent back (well done does not have a red center). Wine was very average. Dessert was excellent. The whole experience was good, not as good as the first time we went. We’ll likely go back but you don’t make out top list of restaurants. And, 50 words for a comment is too much effort, just this e-mail review system makes it likely we won’t return. I must remember now to unsubscribe you.
Our firdt time at Elixir. It was lovely to dine at a place that truly understands they are in the restaurant business.
Delicious food, excellent, attentive professional service. We were dining before attending "Once" at northern stage. Not once during our meal did we feel rushed, or that our timetable was a problem for wait or kitchen staff.
We look forward to our next visit.
