Exchange Street Bistro
I had the beet salad with steak and it was phenomenal. The martinis were superb and the wait staff catered to us. Simply the best. Always a great time there.
All of our food and drinks were delicious and quick to come out. We ordered the baked brie appetizer, bolognese, steak frites and espresso creme brûlée'. We will definitely be back!
This was our first time here. The food was wonderful an the service was great. Very attentive staff. The noise level was low considering the room was full. It was nice to hear each other without yelling across the table.
One of my favorite things here are the broccoli rappi spring rolls. This visit, however, they were greasy and definitely not as good. We also ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious. We decided to split a pizza and we chose the cauliflower crust roasted veggies pizza. It was delicious as well. I had requested a quiet table as this is a lively dining spot and they accommodated us so that was great. Our server was great too. Hopefully it was just an off night for the spring rolls because they are usually to die for! We will be back!
This is pne of my fav restaurant, location is great, food is excellent
Overall I enjoy this place! Great Martini and drink selections, great atmosphere and great staff! Ordered the Bolognese and it came out almost a soup there was so much water in it. They were happy to remake it for me and it came out quickly! Ended up being just an OK meal. My friends did love their Haddock though!
Who would think of a road drip to Malden for a great steak? Not me, but a glance at the interesting menu made me want to try. You should too, you won’t be disappointed. I had a 14 oz rib eye, almost no fat, cooked to perfection adorned with mushrooms and onion rings, sharing the plate with a twice baked potato! Yum. She had sea scallops with pumpkin purée and Brussels sprouts. Again, Yum. That meal was a little small, but my steak was big enough to cut off a chunk and share. We shared the bistro salad which was fresh and tasty. (Poached pear on it was amazing!).
The only disappointment is that I left my leftover steak on the table. Darn, no steak and eggs for breakfast tomorrow.
Trust me, we will be back!!!!
Really great quality, not crazy expensive food! Would highly recommend.
Waiters are too busy
My boyfriend and I met our friends here for a couples date night and it was honestly such a good time. Our server was wonderful and the food was fast
while the food was fine ... the place was very noisy and the seating uncomfortable .... raised
seats are not comfortable and make eating with other folks in a booth difficult ... and then there
was the noise
I had what they listed in the menu as Shepherds Pie; however, it was described by the waitress as "not your ordinary shepherds pie" Delicious Mashed Potatoes topped with Short Rib and served withe Brussel Sprouts, baby carrots and cipollinis and I really enjoyed it. My friend had the Braised Pork Shank which was also very tasty, we will definitely be back .
Deanna is the best!! Great food, great vibes, great service.
Two bistro burgers, the baked haddock, and a stuffed acorn squash, along with a shared ESB signature tapas plate, made for a very nice Friday evening meal for 4 at the ESB. It was a little pricey, but then again this is the greater Boston area where everything seems a little pricey.
We went to Exchange Street Bistro for our anniversary dinner. The food, service, and ambiance were all perfect. We will definitely be coming back.
The food, service, and atmosphere were all really good. Nothing amazing stood out, but an all around good restaurant. Great place to get together with a bunch of people.
Salmon wasn’t cooked they way I requested it. It was cooked Wellness instead of medium well, it was cooked well.
My mother was in town visiting and instead of going into the city we wanted to keep it local. We had a fantastic time dining at ESB, the food was phenomenal, the service was great and our water glasses were never empty (I’m a huge fan of this). We will definitely be back soon!
Seated on time.
Great service and exceptional food and drinks.
A surprise in the middle of Malden! Brunch had good flavor, portions were good without overflowing the plate. Alisha makes some killer cocktails at the bar and the staff all around is friendly and welcoming.
I love ESB! I've dined there for brunch a number of times and have had delicious meals every time. Love the ambiance, solid cocktails, and the staff has always been so friendly.
Awesome!!! We went for the first time onSaturday and we were pleasantly surprised. We will be returning soon.
Portions a bit small for the price and wait staff could be more attentive between courses. Food is very good
My family and I love Exchange Street Bistro. The service is outstanding, everyone is professional and personable. The space is beautiful. Cozy yet elegant. The function rooms are perfect for any type of celebration. The martinis are a great mix of old school and millennials favorites. And the FOOD! Daily tapas changes and is always inspired. Every dish on the menu is delicious.
business trip with associates. food good, service good service. will return on next business trip
Delicious food ... lovely presentation ... outstanding wait staff!
I always enjoy this restaurant. The service is on point and the food is always good. The noise level is the only negative I have. Makes it difficult to carry on a conversation but it's not bad enough to keep me away. I will definitely be back. It's a nice neighborhood location.
Went for my coworkers goodbye party. Menu and pre fixed menu had great options. Good food and drinks.
The restaurant is too loud & you have to shout to have a conversation.the food is always good though.
Love this place.
People were so friendly and accommodating. The waitress was extremly friendly. The food is delish! The venue itself is clean & i love decor.
The food was decent but for those prices I expected better.
We've had dinner here many times & love it but this was our first time for brunch. We were very happy with the menu selection & all in the family loved our meals. The service was great too! Highly recommend it!!
Food is excellent. Hidden gem in Malden, really. Waitstaff were great. Never disappointed in the martinis and food!!
Was disappointed given the good "star" rating. I had the "special" on a Saturday night. Lamb chops with red wine sauce. I ordered medium. One chop was medium, the other was very rare. The wine sauce had little flavor. Hubby got salmon with veg. Everything was ok, but nothing to rate a 4 or 5 star review.
One order was completely wrong and the correct order was not brought to the table for 45 minutes, after all other guests were done eating. Waitress was table due to delay and had to be stopped and asked three times about the delay.
The missing order was sliders for a child, which of course is a plate that could have been ready in minutes.
I think this is probably a good restaurant and was fairly crowded. However, I believe our experience was tarnished by the fact that one of the bartenders walked out mid-shift. We got some good bread and waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. Mine was very good and my wife's was undrinkable. We then waited maybe another 30 minutes for our salad/soup and appetizer that all arrived at the same time. They were all delicious. We probably waited another 30-40 minutes for our entrees, which probably would've been good if they weren't dried-out - likely from sitting under the heat lamps awaiting an overworked waitress. She was very sweet but the food quality suffered.
Overall Exchange Bistro is a cool local restaurant with a nice menu and wine list. Our server was wonderful, although our first visit was Mother's Day. There were quite a few large parties of over 10, so the kitchen was very slow, much longer wait time than expected for each course. But when served it was hot and delicious. It was also quite loud, but I contribute that to the room being at capacity. We will definitely return particularly not on a holiday or special occasion day to give Exchange Bistro the opportunity to show that little things that weren't so perfect were an anomaly. I really feel Exchange Bistro is a hidden gem.
Awesome experience as always. The food is delicious and the service is awesome. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We have been there many times and we have also utilized their function room and never disappointed!
We were disappointed in the menu on Mother's Day. A modified dinner menu was available all day and there was no brunch or full menu available. I thought I confirmed the brunch menu would be an option over the phone prior to going, as Mother's Day is a big brunch day. Typically, I'm not interested in dinner at 11:00 AM. The food we did have was good.
