Great food and atmosphere!
This was my first visit to Fearing's. I'd heard a lot about Chef's cooking and was excited to experience this restaurant. Its located inside the Ritz Carlton hotel and features a beautiful design and atmosphere. My friend and I asked for a Tasting Menu with wine pairings, no restrictions. With the exception of the bread and butter, tortilla soup, and beef quality on the main course, the rest of the dishes were largely unmemorable. Maybe there is some culinary inspiration about taking a delicately flavored lobster and "chicken frying" it in batter. Ours however, came out slightly soggy and frankly, any hint of the lobster was lost in the bread flavor. Service was very friendly, but staff seemed rather limited in knowledge about the food and wine they were serving. My biggest concern was the pacing. After sitting down, we had three rapid fire courses with plates dropping almost as fast as the previous ones were cleared. I finally had to tell staff to slow down. At a restaurant of this level and price point, I'd expect a lot more. For two of us dropping almost 500 dollars with tip, this was a big disappointment. I'm hoping Fearing's just had an off night. Regrettably, I'd have to think twice about returning anytime soon.
It was a wonderful experience for the pallet, the ambience and the service. A definite return candidate.
Perfect service and great food every time. Laura is the absolute best!
Amazing as always with Chef Fearing and his team! Thank you for a memorable evening! Chef Mark
Excellent food and diligent staff. Ambiance was perfect for dinner.
The hostess tried seating us at the very back table next to the kitchen when there were plenty of other tables available. The food was great but the service was slow.
Thoroughly enjoyed Fearing’s—sampler appetizer was great and so were the scallops and steak. Servers were lovely and accommodating—we had two surprise guests show up—switched us to a table for 4 ASAP. Had a wonderful time and will definitely return!
I am usually at the Last Tuesday Mixer and make purchases from Fearings almost every time. This time, I was meeting with some clients of mine for several hours. The staff was very attentive and met/exceeded all of our needs and expectations. I will highly consider doing future client/prospect meetings here again and yes, I do highly recommend. Thank you.
Wonderful food! Lovely meeting Chef Dean.
Great service matched by inventive, beautifully prepared starters and entrees.
Very best restaurant in the US.
Fearing's continues to be one of the two or three best restaurants in all of Dallas.
In my view, it is the BEST.
The food is ALWAYS amazing and the service is top-notch.
This should be your "go to" restaurant to celebrate any special event or to entertain a client.
For the great quality and the relatively low price, the Fearing's lunch menu is one of the best restaurant bargains ANYWHERE.
Dean himself will typically make the rounds and he remains in a class by himself.
We took our good friend to Fearing’s brunch for her birthday. The service was overall good but a bit spotty for a high end restaurant. My friends liked their meals, especially the salads. My only beef was with the “huevos rancheros” entree. If you are familiar with this dish, it is basically runny eggs bathed in salsa with beans and tortillas. There are many minor variations but that is the basic recipe. I got what I would call a “Mexican” omelet with a dusting of salsa. To be fair, the menu does say that it’s an omelet and it was ok taste wise. I just wondered why they used a classic Mexican breakfast dish name for something utterly different. Overall, it was a good brunch. I wouldn’t say it’s outstanding and I’ll return for dinner to get a better idea of all the restaurant has to offer.
Food was decent. We didn’t find anything special or above average. We ordered a few appetizers and shared a main course. I would recommend oysters. Our drinks came out one weak and one strong.
As always the service was excellent and the food was great!
This is one of the best restaurants I’ve visited in a LONG time and the best I’ve had in Dallas. We went to Dallas for an anniversary weekend getaway and had never visited Fearing’s. They took such great care of us. I expected it to be good but the food was unbelievably good and totally exceeded my already high expectations. The Wagyu ribeye is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and I eat a lot of steaks. This is going to be a go-to spot for us whenever we have Dallas weekends. Can’t wait to go back.
Always an amazing meal. Never a bad experience in any way. It's definitely still my favorite Dallas establishment. Can't go wrong with Fearings.
The waitstaff's service was exceptionally splendid. I felt well celebrated as our lunch was to celebrate my birthday. Jalapeno cornbread muffins were terrific, crabcakes ok. The order of Salmon cooked Medium was served Medium Rare. The Rattlesnake Burger ordered Well Done was served Rare. Waiter offered to bring another burger but guest declined. I believe it was removed from the bill. Three guests enjoyed the Short Ribs. Pork tacos not outstanding. Disappointingly, this version of Fried Okra is for presentation only.
Great dining experience. From the moment we walked in and enjoyed some wine st the bar, to the hostesses guiding us to our table overlooking the kitchen (wow!), to the expert wait staff walking us through the menu and wine selection - everything was flawless. Following dinner, we took our dessert wines on the patio and continued the experience - we just wanted to extend our time there as much as possible. Kudos to the entire team for making this special evening for us a most memorable event.
It was our 5 year anniversary and they did an amazing job of making it a memorable one!
Birthday. We celebrated an 18th birthday. As always, it was magnificent!
Always a great lunch and creative seasonal menu, as well as his classics. A favorite.
Love the Chicken Fried Lobster----INCREDIBLE!!!! The bar tenders are great and very knowledgeable!
Dinner at Fearing's is a culinary delight, particularly if you like game meats (e.g., bison, antelope, rabbit, etc.) It is expensive but worth it. Definitely one of Dallas' best restaurants! Service is terrific, too.
Overall the dinner was just OK. It didn’t blow my socks off. I was a little disappointed from all the great reviews. I may have high expectations.
The food and accomodations are always good. The service was stellar this particuilar evening. Very interesting menu any foodie would love. Great for a romantic evening or group of friends, business associates. It's in the pricey range, but holds its own with the other $$$$ restaurants. Mix it in with your other favorites.
The food was excellent, the wait staff was attentive, and the ambiance was very nice.
We will definitely be back soon!
Amazing, innovation dishes and presenatation. Elegant and warm experience with all of the staff.
Some of the best service in town. Our server (Laura) was terrific. Everyone's food arrived just as ordered.
Wonderful food and service! Had some loud background noises (alarms, etc.) - which was probably unique to our night. Great special occasion spot - but upscale casual. Pricey but worth it.
Very comfortable booth with a view of the dining room and kitchen. Music was Allman Brothers era which was fine for me. Our server was not from Texas and definitely wanted to be anyplace but at work. The pleasant guy who served our wine more or less took over. My short rib was excellent as were the mashed potatoes. The grilled veggies had a good taste but were difficult to slice with the butter knife I was given. Started with a nice brut rose wine and we had a bottle of Seghesio red with the lunch. The crowd at lunch was mostly business as expected. Would go back and hope that service would be a bit more consistent.
Brunch was amazing
Wonderful food and service!!! As always we were not disappointed!
Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday and had an amazing meal with the help of a great staff. We will definitely be back.
Excellent as always
Excellent food and tremendous service!
Outstanding meal. Hailbut was juicy and full of flavor. Really enjoyed a chat with Dean. The ambience of the restaurant is food focused with the busy open kitchen which was a treat to watch. The staff works together smoothly.
A unique culinary experience. Ambience, cuisine are unsurpassed.
The dining room decor features a nice mix of elements: tile, leather, warm wood tones, velvet, glass, paintings, floral, and metals. The lighting is muted and well-placed. Seating configurations are varied for parties of different sizes. Service is well-timed with a variety of servers who are unobtrusive, yet hospitable and friendly. The food is well-presented on a variety of plates to suit the contents of the meal. The flavors of the cuisine are memorable and distinct. One of the finer restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining in. I’m looking forward to returning next time I’m in Dallas.
