Los Angeles Energy. Latin-Inspired Soul. DAMA is the Downtown LA restaurant that turned a former Pacific Banana Co. warehouse in the Fashion District into one of the most transportive dining rooms in the city. Step inside and the room opens into a deco-tropical setting, lush greenery, wicker fans overhead, colorful tile underfoot, and an open-air patio that makes the whole night feel lighter. This is where Downtown LA dinners feel worth dressing up for.The kitchen is led by Chef Antonia Lofaso, and the menu leans pan-Latin, built for sharing and layered with the kind of citrus, heat, and depth that keeps the table ordering one more plate. Shared dishes arrive generously and are meant to move. Empanadas packed with seasoned beef, elote charred right, ceviche bright with lime and chili, crispy squid that earns its crunch, and a dry-aged ribeye that anchors the heavier end of the table. Build-your-own tacos let you decide the direction.

The service was attentive, informative, and excellent. The food was beautiful and delicious. The jam in the cheese dish tasted like French onion soup in jam form. The restaurant was designed beautifully and the ambiance was intimate. I had an overall excellent experience.

Redbird remains our absolutely favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. The service is terrific - always warm and congenial. Timing of courses is perfect - the second course doesn't arrive while you're still picking away at what is left of the first. The food itself always delicious with interesting combinations of ingredients - perfectly sized portions and fresh ingredients. And if you are inclined to have a cocktail before dinner - and we are - the drinks always are first rate - combining a range of different flavors into a perfect mix. Brunch on the weekends and dinner any night of the week - absolutely the best.

Here's a lyrical, dreamy version that still feels like a real person wrote it: --- That entraña… I swear I've tasted it in my dreams ever since. The kind of steak that lingers in your mind like a half-remembered melody smoky, tender, so impossibly good it almost hurts. Everything on the plate sang, every bite was a little heartbeat of joy. The Malbec Enemigo was absolutely lovely, but the food? The food was a love letter. And that entraña? Pure poetry. I closed my eyes and saw pastures and fire and magic. Go. Let it haunt you the way it haunts me. Argentinian food done right, and there is a lot of hit and misses. They hit the bullseye!
