Long before the farm-to-table trend invaded America, Louisa’s espoused this philosophy, and served food to match. The tiny-but-iconic eatery was established in 1980 and has been dishing out incredibly fresh and delicious food in the small historic yellow building ever since. The menu is all regional fare — fish caught from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, plus vegetables, fruits, herbs (and beautiful fresh flowers) from West Cape May’s Beach Plum Farm, augmented by produce from other New Jersey farms.The kitchen philosophy is to cook simple, expertly seasoned dishes that are lovingly prepared and made from fresh, first-rate ingredients.     My wife had the scallops which were delicious and numerous! We were pleasantly surprised at the portion size. There were nine scallops on the plate. I had the swordfish which was excellent.

    The asparagus crab soup appetizer was excellent.Not quite the lump crab i expected but |very good nevertheless less.My wife loved her scallops over risotto with tomato and poblano pepper. Not too spicy and perfectly done.I enjoyed the lamb chops with vegetables in a dill cream sauce.The strawberry rhubarb pie was a delicious take home.Our waitress Tina was a joy.Overall a nice nite out on the town for two seniors.
