Had a good corner table for 2 which was just right. Having looked at the menu , hubby had fish and chips which looked and tasted delicious. I had the sea bass special and as I didn't want the shellfish sauce, the sea bass was cooked in butter and it was yummy. We started with sourdough bread and various toppings together with cheese doughnuts . Very tasty. The desserts were chocolate fondant and panna cotta . I was so full that I could not do justice to the chocolate fondant which was such a shame as it was very morish. We had a glass of white wine each , chardonnay and a Sicilian one, both of which complemented the meal. I particularly noticed that there was no salt or pepper on the table but I didn't need the seasonings as the food was well seasoned and to my liking. We particularly liked the ambience. Whilst 2 tables were occupied with young children , they did not impact on our enjoyment at all. When we left, we were given a card wishing us a happy anniversary. We were very touched. Would we recommend the The Loch and Tyne - definitely YES! Would we go back - certainly will!More infoThe Loch & The Tyne by Adam Handling££££• British• Windsor•4.6

While searching I came across this restaurant which I had wanted to go to for sometime but had forgotten about. I quickly booked a table and look forward to a nice lunch on the back of some excellent personal recommendations and having read the reviews on Tripadvisor. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and offered a table either inside or outside. With the weather reaching 30° plus and with them having air-conditioning, we went for the internal option, even though it seemed illogical at the time. It was a good choice! The menu is nice and varied without it being too extensive and we both chose fantastic starters. My partner had the chilled soup which she loved. and I had the mozzarella and broccoli option which was very different for me, but I really enjoyed it. We followed this with my partner having the Korean Berger and I had the battered haddock. I love battered fish but this was as good as I’ve had in a long time. We had a lovely bottle of wine and a very relaxing lunch. We finished it with some desserts which we rarely do. I went for some nice simply home-made ice cream and my partner went for the lemon Panna cotta. Unfortunately she didn’t like it, not because it was bad. It just did not hit the spot for her. When the waiter saw she had not eaten it, he asked why and she explained and he kindly removed it from our bill even though that was not what we were seeking. It was a generous gesture and one we noted. Evidently, the menu changes on a regular basis and they have a steak night every Wednesday where they have a variety of different steaks over and above the normal à la carte menu. We definitely plan to return and the Wednesday night looks like being next on our hit list.More infoThe Three Oaks££££• British• Gerrards Cross•4.8
