Amazing food and service. We had ordered a fair bit of food and they offered us a larger table at the front of the restaurant with an amazing view of Barangaroo. Also came out with a sparkler and gelato on the house for my gf birthday.

Loved everything! It was a small 'work' lunch with a mix of Sydney siders and visitors from NZ. All our food was superb. We shared oysters (bit on the small side but tasty), scallops (divine) and octopus (yum) to start. Fish tacos were my choice and were super good - 3 was too much for me so I took one home and it heated up beautifully for breakfast next day! Other meals of spagetti vongole, kingfish, barramundi and steak were all lovely with no complaints. Good wine list. We shared a bottle (okay 2 bottles) of SA Pinot Gris. Too full for dessert but they sounded great. The location is great and easy to get to. Staff were all lovely, attentive but not overbearing. Will definitely be back.

My daughter and I enjoyed our dining experience here. Our food was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was able to cater for my gluten and dairy intolerances. The restaurant was wheelchair accessible which we needed for my daughter. The soft lighting and peaceful music gave it a pleasant, soothing ambience.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Kokumai Barangaroo! We had the omakase for two and it was nothing short of incredible. The servings were extremely generous, the seafood was exceptionally fresh, and every dish was packed with flavour. We left completely satisfied and very full. The service was just as impressive. The staff were warm, polite, and genuinely attentive throughout the meal. A special mention to the head chef, who took the time to explain each dish and its ingredients. It added so much depth to the experience and made the evening feel personal and memorable. If you’re looking for top-tier affordable omakase in Barangaroo ,Sydney with amazing food and hospitality to match, Kokumai is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
