Flea Street Cafe
Flea Street is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Perfect for family, business or special relationship meals. The food is innovative and sublime, the service, polished, friendly and authentic, in an aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. For me, just perfect. I'll be back. :D
Flea Street is one of my most favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable, and elegant. A perfect date night, the lighting is complimentary and the sound level is low enough for conversation. The food is consistently wonderful, farm fresh, and innovatively prepared. The portions are small enough to allow tasting and sharing many dishes. This is my go-to restaurant for a night out with my husband.
Always outstanding food and warm service.
We arrived a little early and our table was already waiting for us, which is always a great surprise this days.
The service is impeccable and very friendly. The food presentation is always stunning, and the food outstanding. The only little problem was the fried chicken , unimpressive and KFC-grade, would definitely not recommend or hope to see it ever again on the menu.
Uniquely great. Quiet, wonderful food, and everyone so personable & friendly. Don’t know of another restaurant that so beautifully combines all of these elements.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. Appreciated that Jesse came around and said hello to all guests.
Our most romantic go-to restaurant. It's always a unique pleasure to dine here, whether at a table, a high-table, or dining at the bar (which is actually the best choice - who would guess?).
Incredible food & service, with a lovely atmosphere.
The dinner was lovely. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Excellent service, elegant surroundings, wonderful food. Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Especially appreciated the guidance on food selection and timing of the courses.
An ergonomic delight with attentive service and small but excellent one pairing with the meals served.
SOUP AND SALAD WERE AMAZING. MAIN DISH WAS GOOD. COCKTAIL WAS AMAZING AND AS ALWAYS, THE BREAD WAS FANTASTIC.
Love this place! Food was great, good service with friendly staff, and delicious cocktails!
As always, the service was top notch and the seasonal fare was delicious. Excellent wine recommendation by the wait staff.
this has consistently been my "go-to" restaurant for special events
Always a good experience at the Flea Street. Krishna was an enthusiastic and competent server. Food was tasty as is typical.
The first time I ate here I was blown away. Portions were delicious with such an amazing combination of flavors in every bite, not too big but still perfectly filling. The cocktails and biscuits were amazing. Each course was unique. The second time though -- it just didn't have the magic anymore. Still great, but not amazing.
Went here to celebrates my wife's birthday. The service and attention was exceptional. One of our dishes was outstanding (fried chicken) and the other was very good (short ribs). The atmosphere, ambience and overall experience was top notch. Great little spot for elegant dining in Menlo Park. Will be back to try other dishes!
I feel like the Flea Street is baaack. Dinner was up to previous standards. Just a couple of picky details: for the price of the the fish stew ( which was delicious), it should include some fresh Dungeness crab or reduce the price; keep the martini olive spoons; and I miss the outrageous chocolate truffles at the end. ( the night we were there they gave us white chocolate...not the same). Thanks for putting short rib back on the menu.
Such FANTASTIC food. The fried chicken was moist and the potatoes were very good. The short rib was tasty, the gnocchi was also really good. Everything we had was delicious.
Always love Flea Street! Our server Ever was outstanding and so friendly and attentive. Just a lovely setting with great food!
We dined here for our anniversary. What a phenomenal experience! I’ve never had such attentive, kind, authentic service. The food is a whole other dimension of fresh, savory, and well worth it. The finishing touch was a sweet postcard from the original couple who must have owned the home before it became a restaurant. Thank you so much!
What a wonderful first visit. From our welcome from Alison the hostess to a great bartender, fantastic server and wonderful food. Loved the atmosphere. My husband and I will be back!
This is an expensive restaurant, and one of the few that is worth it. Our meal was excellent and it confirmed the impression we formed from a previous visit. The cocktails were interesting, the wine recommendation was spot on, and the food was perfectly prepared. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. And the restaurant does little things that make dining a joy, from the biscuits in the bread basket (you can buy a dozen to take home) to bringing two glasses when we wanted to share a single glass of port with our dessert. We put it on our personal best list, ahead of some Michelin star restaurants at which we have dined.
Absolutely superb! Ambiance is lovely, cuisine divine, service impeccable--it was one of the most memorable dining experiences I have had in a long time! I had the crab Louie salad, the filet mignon, which was a special, the carrot cake and all were perfection. Our server was the best--personable, well-informed about the menu, prompt and professional, and made excellent recommendations (very dark hair). All in all, it was an A+ evening!
Another great experience
An outstanding dining experience! Farm to table ingredients, and superb service. Comparable to Alice Water's Chez Panise but better!
Flavorful food, fresh ingredients, warm ambiance, and excellent service.
I went there with my wife to have a romantic dinner for my 40th birthday. This was my first time at Flea St. Cafe. We have both been pleasantly surprised by the elegant but still cozy environment, as well as by the well prepared food. It is an a la carte menu and there aren't many options, but they are all well prepared and very tasty. Portions are reasonable, you don't leave hungry nor sick from too much food. The chef did an excellent job pairing wines with both the savory and dessert options, we were impressed by that. You may order wine by the bottle or by the glass or by half glass if you want to pair different wines with starters, first and second course. The environment is very elegant, a place to dress up, still it doesn't feel too "corporate" like many upscale restaurants, the waiters and the service make you feel comfortable. It reminded my an elegant European-style restaurant. Definitely we will come back.
Service not as good as usual. We were seated then had to wait ,and finally had to ask for a waiter to come to our table so we could order drinks and hear about menu, etc.
Delicious, fresh ingredients. Outside looks unassuming but the ambiance is elegant without be stuffy.
Great service, excellent food
Why Flea Street Cafe does not have a Michelin Star is beyond me. Best restaurant.
Wonderful food, servers recognized us from our previous visit, can not recommend enough.
love this place!
My friends and I love this restaurant and also select for special occasions. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves great food and service. It is never disappointing.
Took a while for a waiter to appear, but he was fine. It was louder than we remembered it being in the past.
Came for my mom's birthday and didn't want anything too pricey. We both loved all of our courses. Water cup kept getting filled. The manager or the owner came by to our table and I asked if I liked the lingcod and I told him it was quite good! The sauce was good, texture of the fish was great, the vegetable which I forgot what it wants tasted good and interesting. Never had that vegetable before. Will come back for a romantic dinner! Oh and also a great touch to the postcard!! It was really touchy
Disappointing food. The description on the menu did not reflect the dishes. For example, I ordered the roast chicken expecting a half-chicken since that is usually what is implied and since there was nothing describing the piece of chicken. It was incredibly disappointing to see a quarter of a chicken breast was served.
Our service was shotty and we felt ignored for most of the dinner. The best service came from the busers who were very attentive and considerate of us.
The cocktails were excellent and the food was par.
