Seafood | Downtown, District of Columbia

My husband and I had the pleasure of taking my childhood sweetheart and her sister to dinner at Claudia's. We started at the swanky and comfortable bar with cocktails while the kind hostess kept an eye on the availability of our preferred table. Once we moved to our table, we were quickly and warmly greeted by the waitress. While I cannot recall her name, she impressively remembered my husband and I from our visit in February. (awesome customer recognition) I would recommend this place purely based off the vibe and customer service; however, the food is fabulous. To start, we shared the octopus, large cheese board, and the empanadas. The octopus was portioned much larger than many other DC steakhouses, Thank you Claudia! I love octopus and was very pleased with the taste and texture. The four of us shared three entres, 32oz prime rib, scallops, and the red snapper. The prime rib was tender, but something I wouldn't order again. The scallops were like biting into a melting butter stick... Absolutely perfectly cooked and delicious. The snapper. The snapper. The snapper. Beautifully presented... Fried whole, we destroyed it... We loved it. We're already discussing when we're coming back for the snapper. Thanks for a great dinner, Team Claudia. More
