Galvin at Windows
Went to Galvin at Windows for our 34th wedding anniversary. Had a great table overlooking Buckingham Palace and its gardens. Food was amazing - would definitely recommend.
We both had the 7 course menu with wine tasting. excellent food and the wine definitely complimented the food.
Service was first class, from beginning to end. In fact it was the best customer service I have experienced at a restaurant before. would highly recommend a visit, if just for the view.
Not usual standard of food this Saturday brunch menu was rather poor for such a top class restaurant.
The food was amazing and the service even better. They noticed I was pregnant straight away and brought me a cushion for my back and said straight away they would make sure my fish was cooked through to be safe. I was really blown away by the service and it was a very lovely meal.
Top "date" destination. We celebrated our anniversary there and it was a perfect choice. Great view of London without compromising the quality of the food and service. Will return without doubt. Great for tourists as well. Staff is hyper-friendly.
The food was nice, enjoyed it. The service was also good... but nothing particularly exceptional about the experience. Had a hair on a plate, 2 chipped glasses... but didn’t spoil the lunch. As much as I enjoyed it and would possibly go back some point, I would not be rushing to get there.
We went for a birthday lunch and chose off the prestige menu. The food, wine and service were outstanding. A nice touch was to see Fred visiting each table in turn to say hi. We then went to the lounge bar for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
We really enjoyed our meal and the food was very nice although maybe not as good as a meal we had at Galvin La Chapelle. The weather wasn't very good but the view was still very enjoyable. We liked the touch of having postcards on the table to write which the restaurant would then post for you.
Impeccable service and delicious food. I had this restaurant on my list for a while and I was finally able to go. I had the lunch menu offer for £33 with a glass of Bellini.
Despite calling days in advance for a nice section in order to celebrate my first year anniversary this was not taken into account. Wasnt impressed and wont be coming back.
Staff over the top friendly and attentive.
Sommelier was very knowledgeable, and down to earth.
Wonderful food and brilliant staff. Would love to return and have recommended to friends. Would have loved to have seen Fred though!
The pre-theatre menu was rather limiting with just two courses to choose from each section - starters, mains and pudding.
When we arrived we were invited to go over to the bar to have a drink before hand which we declined as time was not exactly on our side.
However, when we sat down at the table we were somewhat hurried to make our orders and were told the tables were timed, which we knew anyway, hence I do not understand the initial invitation to go and have a drink at the bar before hand.
We were even told by the head waiter that all our food may arrive at the same time if we didn't order quickly. And this was just about 10 minutes after we sat down. I found that time of behaviour rather unacceptable.
You can have a set menu which is very affordable to a restaurant like this or go wild with a la carte. Ambiance, service, tastes are all perfect. One of the best views of London!
Excellent lunch from special set menu. A very welcome complimentary Bellini too!
Flavours and scents of the various dishes outstanding as are the views. A favourite.
We were very interested to see how Windows was under the new Manager, if anything Antonino has brought a new brightness to the service, still the height of professionalism but with a youthful friendliness that has it firmly in the 21st century.
The food, as ever, was delicious and Rudina the Sommelier and her team have introduced exciting new wines to the list.
There was a very large party for a 50th at the far end but this was not disturbingly loud.
Sunday lunch at Windows continues to be one of the best options in London.
Fantastic food, wonderfully attentive staff and a beautiful location. We had a great evening and will definitely be returning! Thank you to everyone at the Galvin for a superb evening!
Disappointed. Did the tasting menu with wine paired wine, was ok. Couple of courses were bland and couple of the wines weren’t to our taste and couldn’t see how it was paired to the course. DJ playing in the bar on a Saturday night all you could hear was thumping bass whilst trying to enjoy a celebratory meal.
Wouldn’t visit again tbh and would recommend other restaurants over this.
Galvin at Windows had been on my to visit list for a while now, and I'm very glad I did, the staff are a credit to the restaurant, you're treated impeccably from the time you arrive, 'til the time you leave! Then there's the views, stunning! The food was superb as was the wine list, we look forward to returning!
Amazing again 4 times and always the same
Good food,service and amazing view
Galvin at windows is the 😁
A wonderful birthday celebration. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Overall a good experience however lobster tails were poor and therefore not value for money so 2 of party of 5 were disappointed- I will mention to Ken next time I see him.
The best. Simple as that. The service team are the most welcoming and warm hearted people ever. Extremely polite. I love Galvins!!!! I will be bringing all of my close friends there. Thank you for an amazing experience!
We had lunch here on 28th May 2019 to celebrate my wife's birthday. We have visited for lunch many times and have never been disappointed. A drink in the bar before the meal is a must with the spectacular views over London. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We had the set menu with wine the onion soup was especially tasty followed by sea bream and as it was my wife's birthday a small cake with a candle on a plate with Happy Birthday written on was greatly appreciated. It's a great setting very relaxing and if possible on request you may have a window table. The marshmallows after coffee are fantastic.
Wonderful meal to celebrate our daughters 18th Birthday. Food was incredible with service to match
This is the 7th year in a row my husband and I have been to Galvin. We go every year in my birthday and it never disappoints! The food and the service is outstanding!
We will be back again next year.
Food quality gone downhill. Fairly mediocre dishes, Halibut dish was terrible and had to be sent back to kitchen. Very good service, and staff incredible throughout, just a shame it was let down by the food :-(
Great food and service. Drinks pricey and VAT was added to evetything at the end too.
The atmosphere was great, felt like I was getting an VIP treatment from the staff. Great value for money for having brunch.
Incredible all around
Brunch menu with plenty of variety, was welcome variation on standard brunch fair elsewhere. Views great and Jules as ever exudes much enthusiasm.
Gorgeous views. Excellent service and delicious food. Loved our evening.
Lunch after my daughter’s gold Duke of Edinburgh award ceremony at Buckingham Palace. The perfect place to celebrate - delicious food, very attentive staff with super personalities.
We will be returning.
I will definitely recommend the place but it’s the second time for me at the Galvin and the don’t have all of the deserts from the menu. I completely understand the runn out of it, hopefully I will try it next time. Very nice place
Fantastic food and service. Received a treat from the restaurant as I proposed to my partner on the private balcony with a fantastic view. Highly recommend the tasting menu
Beautiful views excellent service delicious food always very special
Amazing view surprisingly nice ambience for a hotel restaurant .
Restaurant has a seventies vibe and feels desperately tired from a decor perspective.
Food is excellent. Beautifully cooked with great ingredients.
But didn’t really wow us as much as perhaps we were hoping. We seemed to have almost the only table without a clear view,
service was excellent but they were a little pushy - “another glass of wine?” when I hadn’t finished my first.
Meal was expensive but we expected that. But really cannot give it more than 2/5 for VFM.
Very glad to have been and it is a special meal but not outstanding at this rarified level.
Great service. Very accommodating, wonderful views , would highly recommend
