Super fun experience and the food was fantastic!! Grilled octopus for lunch was amazing!
Food was terrible, and the host and waiters was sooo rude. Waiter came once to check on us . They put us on a table that was rained on, with rain on our plates and just looked at us trying to sit on the other side of table to keep out of rain. It took them 35 mins looking and not saying anything . I finally asked for a different table. Took 40 mins waiting for that one . The people was so rude.
Our dining experience was even better than expected. I look forward to coming back when in Miami.
The dinner to Gianni’s was an experience rather than a dinner. Eating in that atmosfere was simply wonderful surrender by history of Versace.
Amazing dinner for my birthday celebration
Amazing atmosphere to be in and incredible food and service!
This is going to be a mixed review. It's only getting a 2 because the waiter and manager were nice and the food was good. I went at lunch around 3:30. My reservation was at 3:30 but since Ocean Drive and the block going towards Ocean drive we're closed it was impossible to get there by car and had to get out at Washington Ave and walk. Street closer was due to spring break. When I arrive a lady at the front gave me a "what do you want look", I explained I had reservations at 3:30 but I'm late due to the roads being closed. Another lady approached before I was able to check in at the hostess and told me the kitchen was closed! A group of four arrived after me and said they had reservations and was promptly seated. As I had to wait about 10 minutes for them to clean a table (the place was empty in the court yard btw). After my meal my friend and I went by the pool to take a couple of pictures and we politely asked staff members if they am take a picture and was told "NO". At this point I had gotten upset with the rude staff and asked for a manager and explained my dissatisfaction of the staff. He was very polite and took several pictures of my friend and I and made us feel a bit better about the experience. Inside is nice but they have a serious staff attitude problem which is going to deter me from every coming again. My birthday was completely ruined. I could never suggest this place to any family or friends that come in town when they visit me.
Gorgeous restaurant! However, service was terrible. And the food was disappointing. Ordered lobster, completely overcooked. Our waiter was not attentive to our needs. And i have to say how excruciating the silence was as we walked in and and throughtout dinner..
Amazing! Food was great, service superb, and the atmosphere was over the top gorgeous. I was immediately transported to Italy! I highly recommend this experience.
We had a 8pm reservation that we made 3 months ago. That apparently doesn’t get you a seat on the patio near the pool. They wanted to put us in a room off to the side that we would have been the only people in. We waited 60 minutes before finally being seated. Both the choices we wanted for dinner were sold out so we had to order our third and fourth choices.
5 / 5 Beautiful space - 2 / 5 for food
Amazing experience. Great dinner and ambiance!
A beautiful and iconic setting.
The staff were very friendly and conscientious, checking our needs regularly.
The food was fabulous and the portion sizes generous. The menu was varied so something for everyone.
A truly lovely evening and perfect for a special occasion
What a wonderful treat! Food was good - pricey, but tasty. The ambiance cannot be beat. Recent reviews have slammed the service but we found everyone we interacted with was helpful and very nice.
Amazing! Food and service is excellent!
The staff is elitist and condescending. They sat us in the corner upstairs despite there being several tables open by the pool area. The mansion itself was beautiful, but the food was mediocre and the servers made us feel as though we weren’t supposed to be there. Definitely check it out and have a drink, but don’t dine here unless you’re wearing upscale designer clothing and are complete euro trash.
Beautiful place but staged for tourists. We've been there long time ago and we feel that quality and elegance was sacrificed for quantity to attract tourist. Food was ok, dessert was much better.
If you just want to check out the mansion, it will be great. After I requested like a month ago, I still cannot get a table near the pool on a Thursday night. There are potentially over 20 tables or more that can look over the pool. The attitude was there. But I don’t think anything in there live up to the attitude they gave people.
Great Venue unbelievable ambience.
Glitzy venue just don’t expect decent food
On our visit to South Beach having dinner at Gianni’s was high on my list! It did not disappoint. Ambiance is superb and food outstanding.
One of most beautiful place for dinner our waiter Jonathan was the best.
The wait to get seated was extremely long, I had reserved a table for 10pm and got seated at around 10:50-11pm.
The worst experience I have ever had at any dining establishment. We were treated like garbage, the food came out freezing cold and we saw our waiter once. Will never return.
In a Word: FABULOUS! I had high expectations for 'Gianni's' at the Former Versace Mansion in South Beach, and my expectations were EXCEEDED. To begin, the Ambience is everything I dreamed of and more! I had seen pictures and videos, but walking through the courtyard into the poolside Dining patio took my breath away! It was like stepping into a dream! Light jazz music playing, cool breezes, and everyone dressed UP for the evening! Heaven! My Server, Alan, was charming and attentive, as he took care of me for the evening. The food was DELICIOUS: I had 3 courses, beginning with the Black Truffle Risotto, followed by my main dish of Pasta Pescatore, with Chocolate Mousse for dessert. This was a 'destination' experience for me, as I traveled to South Beach over my Spring Break (I teach College) to SPECIFICALLY enjoy this Restaurant! 'Gianni's fulfilled my EVERY dream, (especially visiting the former home of my favorite Designer, Gianni Versace, and honoring his legacy) and I cannot wait to return!
Tremendous Mansion, good food, and there was no rush. We’re able to take lots of pictures and really enjoyed our time there
I don’t usually leave reviews but, You have to call like 50 times before they answer, finally when they picked up they answered all my questions.
Had reservation but they didn’t want to seat us till the whole party was there which is dumb because people run late & it was a lot of traffic because of spring break & construction!! BUT the place is so beautiful & waiter was very nice. Food was okay, chicken was a bit hard, truffle mash was dry & a little cold.
The food was absolutely delicious, some of the best pasta i’ve ever had! The ambiance was beautiful and the overall experience was worth the price.
Soo pricey for basically kraft Mac and cheese....would have enjoyed Burger King more
Only because of location. Standard tip added 22 percent. All tables had olive oil and balsamic. Except ours. Had to ask for bread. Had to ask for cheese for pasta. Way to much garlic. Italian does not mean lots of garlic.
Not that fine an experience. Guess when you add 22 percent no one cares.
Ambiance was great live jazz music. Service was a little snow and food took a while but it was a great experience. The place is one of a kind and delicious!
The beauty of the property is enough to get you there once. The food was good and the wine selection was very good. The service was unbelievably bad. The 22% gratuity is automatic, therefore a bottom tier server with little to offer is rewarded for nothing.
I will not make this is a destination on future visits.
This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The ambience and the location could not be better. The food however is Nothing extraordinary. I would’ve the pasta Pomodoro and there was way too much sauce and a portion was very small. The Caesar salad was OK. The buffalo mozzarella And chocolate mousse dessert was very good though. I would still go back because this place has so much history and the noise level was very low considering it’s in one of the busiest part in South Beach.
Loved it, went there on a date and it was amazing ❤️
Just ultra amazing experience staff food and place
I would recommend this place due to fame and ambiance. It's a great place to take pictures. Food is good, not outstanding. But service was really TERRIBLE.
Fantastic. Food was phenomenal, service was impeccable and the ambiance beyond words. Live music playing, but not so loud to drown out conversation.
great way to end a long weekend trip in Miami. celebrated my birthday early, presentation and vibe was amazing. so cool to see Versace’s house once upon a time.
Fantastic! You won’t be disappointed!
Sorry to say but you can't survive on ambience alone. My husband's caesar salad was brown on the edges and tasteless. My sister and I had the sea bass that was tough and tasteless, and my husbands lobster was cold. We were so disappointed. Now I know why they won't let you in to view the house without making reservations and eating here. The mansion is beautiful and over-the-top, like you would expect. Shouldn't you expect a $250.00 meal (per couple), to be just as exceptional? Don't waste your time and money.
