What Insiders Are Saying
Hawksmoor Spitalfields was one of the first steakhouses in town, and it’s still one of the best. Finishing with toffee pudding is mandatory.
Food was excellent. Service staff were helpful and knowledgeable!
Wonderful, tasty, generously sized food, followed by delightful service.
Brilliant Sunday lunch as usual, good location. Busy but didn’t feel crowded.
The best Sunday I’ve spent in a while. The roast was actual perfection. The desserts were crafted by God himself I swear. The cocktails and knowledge that came with them, courtesy of Roman (possibly th nicest bartender in the world?) were a delightful experience. Also special mention to Yesha our server as she was so attentive and made sure we were looked after the entire time. Not at all a bad way to spend a London afternoon. Will be back for sure!
Birthday lunch... excellent food, good service, good choice of wines.. just a really enjoyable way to spend a Sunday lunchtime.
Brilliant as always.. great service even thought really busy. Food and wine always perfect. And if it isn't perfect, which has only happened to me once in ìn about my 30 visits .they rectify immediately fuss free.
Really lovely and helpful staff, and the food was sublime!
Outstanding food and service to match. My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary and the staff made it really special with little touches like a nicely located table and "happy anniversary" chocolates afterwards. Couldn't speak highly enough of our server who was really attentive and personable without being overbearing. MY girlfriend has some quite limiting food intolerances as well, but Hawksmoor were so accommodating.
great steak as always. only issue is that there is a slight smell of spilt beer on the floor.
I love Haksmoor and am a regular at Air Street and 7 Dials. I don't think I'll go back to Spitalfields however as it was simply too noisy. Next time I'm east I'll go to Tramshed.
As always an excellent lunch at Hawksmoor Spitalfields. Brilliant value too on the Star Deal express lunch and Monday is BYOB for £5 corkage!!
Great place for Sunday roast! Quality food, reasonable prices.
Great Bloody Marys 10/10 food was delicious, maybe staff should recommend size steaks to have rather than let people over order like someone in our party did at a rather expensive mistake ...
Best Sunday Roast ever! Definitely need to check it out if only for the roasted potatoes. The roasted garlic was also a great twist.
Beautiful food. Steak was perfectly cooked. Worth the price tag
Love this place!
Excellent experience - fab food friendly service and great cocktails
Outstanding food and very welcoming and friendly staff - lovely meal.
Great night overall. We used a three course meal for £30 deal and were not disappointed. Big portions, great steak and desert. Highly recommended.
Arrogant waiters and over priced food
I have been many times and this restaurant has declined over the years!
Amazing overall. Perfectly cooked medium rib eye on open flame. Great desserts and wine options. Above all great service with super friendly staff. What more could you ask for?
Very good as always. Great food great service
The steak wasn't all I thought it would be. Desserts were really nice. Friendly atmosphere. Welcoming staff.
On a budget with work colleagues we chose the winter set menu. Great choices for what we wanted and great value. Service, food and all round experience was exactly what we wanted.
Outstanding roast dinner. Extra gravy = banging. Service = outstanding. Water = not anywhere as fun as drinking wine, but way cheaper and a lot better for my head on Monday. I’d wife the Hawksmoor if it was possible. Happy Sunday from myself to myself. Cheers.
Great food, always consistently delicious. Service could have improved
The meat was a bit over cooked and burnt on the food outside. It was good but expected more for the price.
Today’s visit to Hawksmoor was as good as ever for food.
On arrival there was no room in the cloak room for our soaking wet coats and had to take them with us into the restaurant to find we were sat in a booth and so had no chair to hang our coats therefore sat with them next to us folded up soaking wet all evening.
Then after waiting over an hour for our food the waitress bought us our main we had to explain we hadn’t actually received our starters yet! We were told we could either miss our starters and have the main as it was cooked or wait for our starters to be cooked. As this was a special evening out to celebrate 2 of our party’s 40th we chose to wait a further half hour to get our starters! Our waitress was very apologetic but an apology from the manager would have been nice. We were given a complimentary drink and told our bill would be looked at however no money had been taken off our bill for the inconvenience and time it took for us to get any food!
We have eaten at the Hawksmoor on several occasions at Air Street and have never had a problem. We won’t recommend or visit your Spitalfields again.
I will stress however once the food finally arrived it was lovely.
Awesome meal - loved it!!!! We went for the set menu which felt like a bargain in eating such brilliant quality steak and a starter for £25
You always know that you will enjoy a fabulous meal at Hawksmoor. The wine is lovely but expensive.
Wow - absolutely exceptional - both food and service surpassed expectations and me and my partner had a fantastic evening - I would shout out the amazing waitress who took care of us both and I’m gutted we missed her name. But we would be back again just solely because of how welcome and at ease she made us feel - 100% recommend!
Meat ok fish not ok
Amazing Sunday Roast. Very impressed with the quality of food
Delightful Sunday lunch to celebrate two family birthdays. The service was excellent - attentive, friendly, helpful. The food was utterly delicious. We all had fillet steak - perfect. But it's the pudding that was the cherry on the cake: my son hasn't stopped raving about the sticky toffee pudding. Would hands-down recommend Hawksmoor.
Lovley food great all round evening
The food as always was excellent. Staff friendly and attentive.
As with any restaurant in London a table for two is always to small and to near other tables. Had to shout at my date at times as couldn’t hear each other . Much prefer sitting at an angle with the corner in the middle of you both so you can speak to each other not facing each other. Appreciate the need to get bums on seats though.
Couldn’t fault anything really would definitely come back.
Came here for my birthday and had been waiting to come for months after a recommendation.
The expectation did not live up to the reality i am afraid.
Although the food was good and the staff were too, we just came away thinking we should have just gone to Miller and Carter instead!!
We went on a Saturday night and you could hardly move inside the restaurant.
We both had the Yorkshire starter which sounded different, so thought would give it a go and yes was good albeit a bit strange as a starter.
We then had a Chateaubriand to share and from our usual went with 550gr. when it turned up it looked a lot smaller. while we were waiting the couple on the table next to us had complained that their steak looked small too and had got a free fillet and theirs was meant to be 750gr.
All in All i did enjoy my meal, me more so than my partner and i would recommend to go.
just felt at twice the price of a Miller and Carter it did not really match the money spent.
Was so looking forward. Sadly the restaurant did not live up to the hype. My food was fine but nothing amazing. My partners medium rare steak was actually rare. And the bill was almost the same price as some sort of fine dining restaurant whereas in fact this is just a slightly upmarket steakhouse.
Superb quality of food
