We love this Italian Resturant and return every time we are in NYC. Service is excellent. Wine by the glass is very good and reasonable. We shared the antipasti that is greasy and displayed on a trolley. Our entrees were a veal saltimbocca Florentine and chicken picata. Both excellently prepared and presented. Highly recommend.
On our first visit, the food was absolutely excellent and the presentation beautiful.
We don't know if the dinner on Sunday was so crowded that the food was rushed,
but the Veal Milanese was oily and not that of a fine restaurant. Perhaps we should
have sent it back but we were all tired and it was getting late.
The Pasta Carbonara was also served in a poor fashion.
From a must return place to a don't bother in one evening.
The best service, best food, best company. Can’t wait to come back!
Although the wait staff was very attentive, the Maitre d is obnoxious and condescending. Unless you appear to be old money rich you will not feel welcome here. The food was good, but not great and certainly not worth the price.
Dined at I’ll Tinello on a week day. At 7:00 pm there were several tables filled with larger parties, but the sound level was acceptable. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara and friend had their chicken special. Both were very good. The carbonara was very rich so I couldn’t eat it all. We we just visiting NYC and had no way to keep the leftover. I wish I could have taken it with me for lunch the next day. Oh well
Also had some sort of chocolate cake that was outstanding. That’s the reason I could not finish my meal. I wanted dessert so had to cut down some how.
The serving staff were very professional. They treat you as if you were their repeat customer. It is so delightful to dine in this sort of atmosphere. And prices are in line with other Italian restaurants in NYC
I would recommend this Italian restaurant to anyone.
Baked clams are best in city, oyster Rockefeller was great. Chicken was mind blowing.
We dine at Il Tinello on every visit to New York. The food is great, the service friendly and unhurried. If the ingredients are available, they are happy to make something not on the menu. I especially like the cannelloni as it is not frequently found in Italian restaurants and is so time consuming to prepare at home. A nice wine list (if a bit pricey). Complimentary after dinner drinks were a pleasant surprise. Love the place and have recommended it to friends who have gone back two nights in a row while visiting NYC!
Always a great experience.
Il Tinello is a treat. Great food and incredible service. An anniversary treat for us and well enjoyed. If you want a special evening or are a "master of the universe" this is a great venue. BTW Caesar Salad just yummy.
What a delightful restaurant! The food was amazing (we all loved the burrata appetizer and the veal saltimbocca in particular). The service was attentive without being smothering. The restaurant was not noisy, which is something I appreciate more and more. We were able to converse without raising our voices. I would definitely come back!
Excellent, excellent and excellent
I have loved Il Tinello since I heard Regis Phillbin talk about pasta ala Regis on air. I asked my husband to
take me to your restaurant and after that we were sold. Since my husband died 5 years ago, I have not
stayed over in New York City until last night. It was one of my best friends 70th birthday and she ask me to
see Hugh Jackman wiyh her. Her husband got us the tickets so I thought that I should treat her to my
favorite restaurant and she is Italian. Thank you for preparing a wonderful meal and please do not judge my
typing or computer skills. I never used the computer until Lincoln died.
Fabulous all Around. Reveal Montebello MA scallops delicious. The burradah fabulous. But the most unusual and special was the squash flowers stuffed with ricotta. The staff is warm and attentive. Special evening.
Simply the best Italian restaurant in NYC as far as my wife and I are concerned. It's not a large establishment, but the service is impeccable and friendly and the food is always delicious. If you order a bottle of wine, be prepared to spend over $200 per person. Not for everyday dining, but a great choice for a special occasion, or when you simply want to splurge on a dinner.
Outstanding Italian restaurant in midtown. Food is always great and the service is top notch, first class all the way!! The staff makes you feel special and welcome every time you visit. Consistently reliable and a wonderful experience every time you go there.
A very special place. The service and the food are beyond wonderful. The atmosphere is old world elegance. Celebrate special occasions here or just have a delicious meal. Extensive wine list so everyone is satisfied.
Il Tinello is a very nice Italian restaurant with a large staff waiting to take care of each table. We received personalized service for our group of 6. The food was delicious and about what you’d expect price-wise in NYC. Definitely not larger than normal portions though. Very average size, but won’t leave you hungry. The food came extremely quickly, too! The drinks were a bit pricey, especially the wine. And they don’t have a drink menu, so you don’t know how much you’re paying ahead of time. Dessert was yummy and reasonably priced as well, with a good amount of options. It was nice to see all the dessert in person on the cart they wheeled over before ordering it. Good experience and would come again for a special occasion.
Have eaten here a few times before and once again both the food and service were good.Restaurant is nice inside with tables not too close together.Had an enjoyable evening. One improvement would be to have the menu list types of and prices of glasses of wine and deserts.
What an amazing find. This truly is a gem in NYC. The antipasto cart was amazing and something I had not experienced before. We had the rack of lamb and veal chop and split each main and enjoyed them thoroughly. From start to finish the service was excellent. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was very quiet which was lovely. Highly recommend.
Wedding anniversary with friends great time.
Always a great dining experience at Il Tinello. Best food and service!
We had a wonderful dinner experience at Il Tinelo. From the great cocktail at the bar to the amazing desert, the evening couldn't have been more enjoyable. The food was delicious, very traditional, and served beautifully. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the city.
We have never had a bad experience or bad meal here. Service is outstanding.
Everything was spectacular and delicious as always. 10/10!
This place was amazing. We loved it had wonderful food and great service.
This place is special. Outstanding food, of course, but the service just sets it over the top. We come to NYC twice a year and this is always on our must-do list, no matter what else is going on.
The food is delicious and the service was outstanding.
Thank you for a special evening.
Our “go to” restaurant in NYC!
Consistently excellent food and service.
Celebrated a birthday dinner there Friday night... table of 4... Fantastic!
We love it!
This is one of the best upscale Italians in the area. But weird wine menu and watch those “extras”, like “I can can get you spinach instead of potatoes “ and then it is s $12.50 side dish.
Fantastic old school Italian restaurant. High end dining.
Favorite place to go in NYC! Staff and food are amazing!
Excellent service and atmosphere and great food.
Il Tinello is a Standard and his been consistent for a long time.
Just discovered this place, and I love it. The food is amazing (try the antipasto - it’s their specialty). And the service is as great as the food. Romantic atmosphere (but not stuffy). Highly recommend this restaurant.
Our Club Concierge at the Ritz recommended this restaurant. Are we forever grateful he did! What a wonderful experience. Both the food and the service were unmatched, and we have eaten at multiple Michelin restaurants. This will now be a must go to for us whenever in NYC. As an added bonus, it's an easy 10 min walk from the RC. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, but still we felt like we were in a very nice restaurant. The entire staff worked well together and seemed to really like working together. Wilson made sure we were never lacking for service. Nicky was very personable. He never stopped walking the restaurant to interact with all guests, and he made us feel like we were special. What a great dining experience!
Il Tinello is in a word superb. I have eaten at Il several times over the last years and it’s every bit as good as it was years ago. Still special, food perfect and a really fine NYC experience. Top Notch!
This quaint little Italian is very classy with old world charm. The Host, waiter and other staff did a spectacular job. The food was great and everyone absolutely loved what they ordered. The waiter was very helpful on recommendations ( spot on). Just a pleasant experience all around. Can’t wait to go back.
Somos clientes desde hace varios años y este es realmente uno de las restaurantes italianos que son un “must” en Manhattan. Comida con énfasis en preparaciones de la Toscana y con un servicio maravilloso. No te equivocas. Vale su precio en calidad
