   Front of house was lovely, the food was as expected, good quality. However, it seams extremely odd to charge 2 pounds for a cover when one doesn’t eat bread. But even then the margins for overheads should be accounted for in the food. Service charge is at 13.5% so you are also paying service charge on the cover charge. When you are having 2 courses tye cover shouldn’t apply.

   Ask to sit in the main area. We got shoved in the far corner of the smaller countertop staring at the store cupboard with nobody else next to us. Would have preferred to sit on the main counter. Food and service was good.

   The institution of J Sheekey continues to deliver - I took a guest over from the US and we enjoyed a great evening. Attentive staff as ever and a fun but not rowdy atmosphere. We had tuna tartare starters which was excellent, then the fish pie (which my guest adored) and the cod with shellfish risotto. Accompanied by a very nice Malborough white from NZ, finished with the perfect apple pie, it was a memorable night and we will be back of course.

   Sunday lunch with a friend visiting from overseas. We opted for the set menu. For £33 for two courses or £39 for three courses it’s an excellent value. The soufflé Suisse was excellent but the hot smoked salmon was rather disappointing: only a very tiny bit of salmon. The hake and sea bream were very good. The service was rather “aggressive” to start with: various waiters were circling our table in one minute intervals to see if we finished our appetisers and trying to get the bread away. Eventually they calmed down. The wine is extremely expensive for what it is. We were surprised to see a cover charge of £2 per head on the bill. The waitress didn’t know what it was for and she asked the manager to come and explain. He was very friendly and apologetic and said that it was a rather very old fashion charge for bread and linen! Rather ironic as they tried few times to remove the bread from the table. He did, however, remove the charge from the bill.

    First time back since Covid- nothing changed: outstanding food, service and atmosphere - great place for a small family celebration before heading to the theatre for a great show. Thanks to the Sheekey team and we be back very shortly. Quality place

    The food was outstanding. Excellently presented and delivered with a smile. Each dish was prepared with care and attention in front of us whilst we sat in the bar area. We decided not to have side dishes so that we could enjoy an extra starter. A wonderful experience we are looking forward to enjoying again soon.

    Great food, excellent service from entry to departure and not a bad price for the best fish pie in the world. Only small complaint os the lack of Coke Zero: some restaurants think Zero is the same as Diet Coke!

    One of my favourite establishments for grandeur ambience and just classy place. Hidden restaurant tucked away in st martins court a stones throw away from all the main theatre productions and plays so perfect pre theatre place. Food as always impeccable with one of the best seafood selections out there. You are greeted in style and elegance by the footman dressed in red long tunic greeting us at the door. The decor and staff very attentive. Menu was top form with great selections including fresh oysters shellfish and daily market catch. All in all a lovely experience as always and never disappointing.

    Lovely food and experience, but I gave it one star as both OpenTable and on their website advertised a set menu on a Sunday which was not available when I arrived so we had to pay full price from the a La carte - That’s really bad form

    It was a nice late lunch. Food was good. Service was good. Shame they didn’t do anything to recognise it was my friends (actual) birthday that day. I did advise. I just thought even a happy birthday would have been a nice touch. Not able to personalise. But ok never the less.

    Restaurant was recommended - it was not a disappointment. Very generous portions so took the advice of our waitress to focus on mains only, would recommend the fish pie or the fish stew (all the sides were just as epic).

    Solo diner visiting for a post-theatre supper. Sat at the counter. Staff were warm and welcoming, and reassured me there was no rush to finish and leave even through it was approaching the end of their evening and they were gradually preparing to close. Complete opposite to the service I’ve received in most venues. The classic fish pie was also delicious and the perfect tonic to the blustery cold wet evening. I’ll be back!

    We had the table booked for 16.30 and got there half an hour early which was no problem and we were shown to a table within a few minutes , I have wanted to go to this restaurant for years as my father always said how good it was years ago , I wasn’t disappointed it was a great experience and the Cheese Soufle starter was fantastic , I then had the Cod with prawn risotto which was nice and my friend had the Monk fish and king prawn Curry which was outstanding, we enjoyed a lovely bottle of Sauvignon and a French brandy coffee , yes we enjoyed every minute and hopefully will be back again very soon, one word Delish !!!

    Great fresh seafood beautifully presented, quick service altogether as good as it has always been even though it is now so much bigger. But the teamwork from the service staff is really exemplary and for once I didn’t resent the pretty challenging pricing.

    First time. Came for the seafood and not disappointed. Really good choice of options on the menu. Prompt service - perhaps a little too rushed. Good vibe in restaurant. Very busy and fast paced. Would visit again.

    Bit of an institution and one of the few places you can eat late. Not as wonderful as it used to be and having to wait just a bit too long for service but maybe we are expecting too much as haven't been for a year. We had the same fish cooked two different ways...pan fried and grilled but the pan fried halibut was overcooked and dry which is a pity in a fish restaurant. The staff are helpful but maybe there aren't as many as there used to be. We asked for plenty of room but were squashed into a corner and had to have things removed from table to get the plates on the table as it was far too small. Wine fantastic and on the whole a great institution. Will we go back...of course we will, and hopefully won't be disappointed

    Slow, impersonal service. After asking for 1 minute before ordering, we waited 6 or 7 befoe the waitress returned. Our starters (tempura prawns and mushroom risotto) were good, but my slip sole took ages to arrive - and, when it did, it had obviously bee sitting under a heat lamp for 10+ minuted - the tails were shrivelled and dry and the tops were hard. And when we asked for our coats, they seemed to ahve gone astray and took another 5+ minutes to arrive - after we had to say what type they were. After 40+ years of thinking Sheeky's about the best fish restaurant in town, this was a huge disappointment.
