La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversize iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The 250-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

They should not have availability to make a reservation at 2.30pm. The kitchen & bar closes at 3 so you constantly felt rushed. They’re only interested in getting your cash in as little time as possible. Terrible overall experience!

Best restaurant in the theater district and one of the best Italian restaurants in the City. Went there Sunday after matinee Bdwy show and were seated immediately in a quiet table I had requested. We shared fried zucchini & shrimp appetizer. Wife had eggplant parmagani, and I had linguini vongole that I paired with a dry Italian white. Great combo! Everything was prepared perfectly and was delicious. Portions were ample and well worth the price. Chris, our waiter, was fantastic, as were his colleagues. Service was attentive but not rushed Interior of restaurant is simple elegance and noise level is such that you can actually hear your partner speak. This was our first trip to the City since the pandemic, and we hope to continue making our annual visits. La Masseria will be a must stop each and every visit.

The tables for 2 are very tight. Our waiter was efficient but seemed very busy and somewhat disinterested. We had to ask twice for the price of the specials. My chair was broken and had to be replaced. For the price I would prefer a quieter ambiance. Don’t think I would come back.

We had a great table against the wall on the 3rd floor. Waiter and busser were very attentive. Everything was delicious from the tri colored salad, fried zucchini, my husbands pasta and my pasta special with soft shell crab, shrimp and baby clams (Yum!). Only complaint is with the restrooms. There are only 2 and they are not maintained as they should be. The restaurant was packed and they need to be serviced more often.

First time dining here and loved it! Food quality was amazing. Everything tasted delicious. My friend is a vegetarian and she found many choices. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Bolognese was yummy. And the Tiramisu was the perfect finish to the meal. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful lunch at La Masseria during our recent New York City weekend getaway. Service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was excellent at every course. Both specials were first rate and the pasta dish was absolute delicious. They also had a great wine list with many options. We ended the meal with espresso and two fabulous desserts. An absolutely perfect meal. The bill was pricey, even by New York standards, but worth every dime. Would return again in a second!

Went for a pre-theater birthday dinner at 5:30pm. Our appetizer arrived and then we were told for the next 40 minutes our food was on the way. Everyone around us, seated after us, were served, finished two courses and our entrees still did not arrive. We had 5 minutes to eat before needing to leave for our show. We asked the waiter for an accommodation and he asked the manager who told him”we don’t give discounts”. We spoke to the manager upon leaving who said “this is the first I am hearing of this” - no apology, no explanation as to why our spaghetti and a piece of fish took 65 minutes to make it to our table and no accommodation of any kind. A very disappointing evening at an otherwise charming restaurant.
