The long established tradition of Afternoon Tea has been wonderfully preserved at Ashford Castle since 1868 - you’ll notice the original silver tea set displayed in the Connaught Room, which was presented to Lord and Lady Ardilaun to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 1896. With spectacular views from the comfort of the castle’s elegant interior, take your time to savour every delicious moment. The Afternoon Tea menu offers guests a wide selection of speciality teas or perhaps a glass of Champagne, delicate finger sandwiches, warm freshly baked scones with lashings of cream and home-made jam, not to mention our tasty pastries. It’s the perfect way to spend a leisurely afternoon with friends.Please note that all visitors will be directed to our car park located across the bridge and a shuttle will be provided. Should there be any delays please call the hotel.

    What a beautiful place to have a lovely tea. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I'd go back again. It was my daughter's birthday. She got an extra sweet with a lite candle. 🕯 It said Happy Birthday on it. She also received a glass of champagne.

    We celebrated our sisters birthday in George V. Our request for the table in front of the fire was fulfilled. The service, ambience, food, nonalcohol wine, glutenfree pastries and complimentary bday dessert , plate presentation garnished with edible flowers and herbs from their kitchen garden were nothing short of exquite. And we will treasure the memorable experience of the wait staff singing happy birthday.
