Donald McIsaac erected this beautiful three storey brick building in 1862-1864 on Sims Corner, so called because the property had been in the possession of Thomas and Charlotte Alchorn Sims from 1806. The most colourful owner and occupant of the building was Mr. P.P. Gillis, who ran the “Red Pharmacy” between 1895 and 1910. A drug-store in the front half of the building and a reputed conviviality shop in the rear, proved very popular with local businessmen while prohibition was in effect. This location has also been a large family home, apartments and a barber shop. In the fall of 2005 local restaurateur Murphy's purchased the building and began the process of renovating to create what you are experiencing today. Murphy Hospitality Group is proud to present you with Prince Edward Island’s first authentic Steakhouse, and “Atlantic Canada’s Premier Steakhouse Experience”.

    My 11 year old daughter and I had one of the best meals ever. She had steak frites and I had the bacon cheeseburger - both were perfect. We had the fresh oysters - fun experience and delicious. We finished with the caramel pretzel cheesecake and it was perfect. The food was served hot and fresh. Service was friendly and prompt. We enjoyed our meal and experience. Great ambience and vibe for a fun evening out. 10/10

    We ordered baked chutney haddock with veggies and roasted potatoes. They seemed to cut back on the chutney, but asked for extra and they got it right away. Potatoes weren’t roasted and could have been cooked just a little bit more along with the fresh broccoli, which was also a ‘bit’ cold or not hot. Overall the meal was great and would not deter us from eating there again as it’s one of our favourite restaurants!

    We recently hosted an event here and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The private dining area was spacious, quiet, and perfect for our group—it really made the gathering feel special and comfortable. The service was outstanding. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, consistently checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and professional, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, this is a fine dining experience that delivers both excellent service and an ideal setting. Highly recommend for special occasions or group events!

    Well. I was invited by my girlfriend for a birthday dinner. It was my first but for sure not the last visit. The food is amazing, reservation makes it easy to keep track with your scheduled day, and the huge amount of parking spots outside makes it just perfect. Cant wait for our next visit.
