Restaurants near Golden Gate National Recreation Area

My boyfriend treats me to a Birthday dinner every year at my restaurant choice, and this year was great! We chose many different sushi rolls, sushi and sashimi choices, and boyfriend had the chicken entree. The Poke Roll was a favorite for both of us, as was the Shrimp Tempura. We tried their house Pinot Noir wine and enjoyed that, as well as Port with desserts. The staff was aware it was my Birthday and made it special, as did the restaurant owner, who came over for a chat with us. Such an enjoyable evening! I am a Sausalito local, and my boyfriend works in Sausalito - we will return more frequently. I am so happy that this restaurant has had so many very successful years in Sausalito!

Though a 40 year resident of SF, I’d never visited Cavallo Point. On a gorgeous sunbathed January afternoon we had lunch on Sula’s wide veranda. The expansive green parade ground lawn unfolded to a dramatically foreshortened view of the Bridge. That, alone, would have been worth the price of lunch! The salmon BLT was about 5” high and delicious. It came with a substantial salad that was perfectly dressed. Wait staff was unrushed and pleasant. Altogether it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in my life…simply a sandwich and a nice rosé in a perfect setting.

Anniversary. The service was fantastic! I could go on and on about how excellent our waitress, Tatiana, was, and how fast and professional the other staff were! They worked really well together and it was as pleasure to see. The views were great! The food was okay. It lacked seasoning, so it was pretty meh and bland, although beautifully presented and cooked well. For example, my braised short ribs were ABSOLUTELY tender, but there was hardly a particle of salt in them, so the flavor of the meat was absent. (The sweet potato fries were spot on though!)

Mateo’s was our server, he was excellent. good variety of meats! the lamb chops and rib eye and top sirloin were very tasty. salads are fresh, nice variety
