For centuries, a taverna has been a neighborhood gathering place where friends can meet to eat, drink and enjoy life. Taverna co-founders Thanasis Pashalidis and Hakan Bala were raised with a shared ethical compass, which the Greeks call "philotimo" or "love of honor". Family and friends are their ingredients of life, and they believe that nutrition, happiness and health are all directly correlated. Both partners have been culturally influenced by the remedies of the old world and incorporate them into the lifestyle of Taverna. Both have an "ethos" that drives them and inspires others to live fully, which they consider the flavor of life's success. They understand that life is to be enjoyed and that time is of the essence. They are aware that every day is a gift. Taverna has been created to make people happy and feel alive.

Over the years this restaurant has had consistently attentive servers and is the only place where I can be sure that putting "birthday" or some other occasion in my reservation, will result in a dessert with a candle being brought to the table with no reminders. Their steaks are wonderful but I can't get enough of their prime rib.

Wow! Amazing place. Exceptional food. I had the short bread (gluten free) and my wife had the harvest bowl, both were delicious. The pina cata desert was also great. On top of that great service. Loved the experience.

Though I requested indoor seating, once I arrived and realized how noisy it was inside, I requested to be seated outside - which they managed to do expediently. The food was generally great. Both Croquetas were amazing, as were the Patatas Bravas. We were not impressed with the Gazpacho Salad & Tartare, nor the Spanish Meatballs. The Cocktails were quite nummy - we especially liked the Mare & Tonic. Prices seemed reasonable (<$100/person including drinks.)

My experience with Evvia since 2010 has been one thing. - consistently great. My usual. - Taramosalata, grilled Lavraki, Greek Coffee (metrio) & rizogalo. Every fish - fresh & grilled expertly. Taramosalata (made with bread, not potato!) is perfection paired with thick pita & gardiniera. And the rice pudding rivals my late father’s. Each meal here is like coming home, even though I live on the East Coast.

Wife and I tried the new RH Rooftop after my follow-up appointment at Stanford...and it will definitely be on our shortlist of places to eat in Palo Alto going forward! Sophie was our server and was the perfect blend of personality and great service. Food was great...had Di Stefano Burrata starter, the Mulholland Drive Salad (amazing actual chopped salad!), a side of French Fries and for a desert we shared the Housemade Chocolate Chip Cookies (warmed up!) and the Affogato! The view and vibe of the rooftop patio (both inside and out) are amazing!
