Second time to Lucy’s and even more impressed this time. Jess took care of us, was on top of everything and the food was excellent. Will be back!

If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, especially if steak is your go-to, Papi’s is as good as it gets in London. This was our second visit, this time to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a “happy anniversary” as we entered through the butcher shop speakeasy entrance and then welcomed with equally enthusiastic anniversary wishes by our server. I apologize for not catching the name, but I think it was either Brynna or Brianna. Sorry if I butchered that. We were given a complimentary glass of pink champagne so we could toast the occasion. My beautiful bride, who doesn’t tolerate alcohol, was given a glass of sparkling water to enable the “cheers”. Next, she skipped the appetizer while I opted for what turned out to be the best French onion soup I believe I’ve ever had. Apparently it’s getting a reputation around town for its excellence. For the main course, we shared an 8 ounce tenderloin along with sides of mashed potatoes and a dish of market vegetables, which consisted of asparagus, snap peas topped with crunchy prosciutto on a bed of melted goat cheese. It was all absolutely perfect. The server made just the right number of appearances at just the right times and was friendly and helpful throughout. I also had a glass of craft beer, a creamy ale, which went perfectly with the steak and sides. For dessert, my wife opted for the crème brûlée while I had a slice of peanut butter and ganache cake, both of which were delicious, and it turns out complimentary presumably because of our special occasion. While we didn’t have the table side Caesar Salad, we enjoyed watching Rob Campbell expertly prepare it for the for table next to us. The atmosphere was lively in a high end dining venue that doesn’t take itself too seriously. All in all, one of our most memorable dining experiences not just in London, but anywhere in our travels. If you’re a Londoner or just visiting, treat yourself to the Papi’s experience. We’ll absolutely be back!

Eric did a great job of making sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Excellent service and food. Especially enjoyed the warm lobster dip appetizer!
