- CChrisPalm Springs / Palm Desert Cities •4 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoFabulous menu choices. Only local produce is used, whatever may be available is made into creative, unusual dishes and desserts. Wait staff is very knowledgeable with detailed descriptions of ingredients and tastes. We let them guide us on our menu choices, we were open to try anything new. The plates reflected familiar ingredients that had been transformed into new & different tastes and shapes, almost indiscernible, what a joy! Half the fun of the meal was detecting what spice or herb was creating that unusual flavor. Eating at Houlme is a relaxing, delicious way to spend an evening.More infoHoulme$$$$• Contemporary American• Orcas Island•4.8
- WWalterVancouver / British Columbia •5 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe've often come for the Afternoon Tea, but it had been a while since coming for dinner. Yesterday was only their 2nd evening open this season. We always love the ambience of the old world charm with leaded windows and flowers everywhere, of course. Our server was expert in describing the wonderful choices (we remember him from a previous Tea). My wife opted for the beef tenderloin and I opted for the Coho Salmon. Both were fabulous choices, and for a premium dining establishment, ample portion sizes. Of the two, I would opt for the Tenderloin...it was mouth watering! Perhaps I eat a little too much fish! Our desert we shared was a rhubarb cake. Very seasonal and delicious, especially with some fresh mint tea. All in all, a must experience, and miles above the other food choices at Butchart Gardens!More infoThe Butchart Gardens - The Dining Room$$$$• Northwest• Central Saanich•4.9
- JJonSan Francisco Bay Area •11 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoJust got back from an amazing lunch experience at Wescott Bay. We had reservations, which was critical. All outdoor dining at picnic tables, and atterondack chairs, so very casual. The view is spectacular and serene, so as long as the weather cooperates, it's a magical outdoor dining experience. We had a dozen oysters, and I'm sure the menu changes so don't ask me what they were. We had 6 of the "small" ones, which had nice flavor, but were frankly the smallest oysters I have ever eaten, and left me wanting. But then we had 6 of the "big" ones, which were outstanding, smooth and creamy. We also had samplers of all 3 grilled oysters. They were all good, but my wife favored the Chipotle/Bourbon, while my favorite was the Herb & Garlic. But our favorite was the Clam Bowl, which were the largest, juiciest clams we've ever had, in a spicy rich broth that we had to soak up with a loaf of fresh baked bread. Oysters were very pricey, but everything was wonderful, plus they have a great selection of beers and wines. Absolutely worth the drive from Friday Harbor, but make sure you get reservations!More infoWestcott Bay Shellfish Co$$$$• Seafood• San Juan Islands•5
