Located in the heart of South Boston, Lincoln is a classic American tavern that offers guests a welcoming combination of home-spun, American fare alongside a wide variety of rustic, wood-fire-grilled specialties.Built with the intention of being a comfortable meeting spot for locals looking to share stories at the end of their long day, Lincoln draws inspiration from it’s surrounding, hard-working, and uniquely American neighborhood.Revitalizing a nearly forgotten West Broadway space that at one time housed the area’s only department store, Lincoln feels nostalgic. It’s open-air, tiled-floor cafe, grande bar, and soaring, original tin ceilings remind us of a time when dining halls and supper clubs were a way of life.

The food is always fresh. The staff is attentive and accommodating and the place is busy. The veal chop milanese is a show stopper. And I love that pasta dishes are served in pans. Water is continually filled and multiple staff tend to the table while the waiter is always around. My son always gets the spaghetti and meatballs, which is not on the menu but no one has ever said. They just bring it out. We will keep going back. Even the leftovers are artfully packed and staff asks if we wish them to go.

The first restaurant on our USA trip where we felt the expectation of a 20%+ tip was warranted. Nick was helpful, attentive and friendly. Ambience was great. The food was delicious. Good wine selection. Only negative is that the hostess on arrival wasn’t great, we had to stand up hovering for over 15 minutes on arrival. There were plenty of tables free, process could be more efficient. Thankfully a bar tender took pity and got us a drink fairly quickly. Other than that the experience was great and the oysters particularly were fabulous.
