Restaurants near Plumb House Museum

Probably one of the best filets I've had in my life I had at the Chophouse last night! It was cooked to perfection and super tender. On top of this, the ambiance of the Chophouse was great - very warm and cozy - and the server was super nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend the chophouse to anyone wanting a superb dining experience!

This was my first time dining at Black Cow Chophouse, and it was an excellent experience. We were there during happy hour when drinks are discounted and at least one meat entree is, so if you chose, you could get a very delicious meal and beverage for under$30. The menu is varied with delicious sides served family style. Our salads came with our steaks and were excellent as was the fresh bread and butter. The desserts did not disappoint, particularly the cherry crème brûlée. Service here is top notch. The vibe is cool and unpretentious. We did feel slightly rushed to finish so the next seating could begin, but I get that this fabulous restaurant has high demand, as it should. My compliments to the entire staff.

We ate here twice in consecutive days b/c we wanted to try BOTH their Thanksgiving fixed menu and their regular menu the next night. Both were great and I'd even say that their Thanksgiving fixed menu was maybe the best holiday fixed menu I've ever had out. Tasted BETTER than home-cooked! Only complaint is their wine list should be as good as their food - needs to have some elevated options.

Duners had been suggested to us by someone at one of the Charlottesville inns. I'm so glad we took her up on that! The restaurant reminded us of some of the Napa Valley restaurants we have frequented on our California days. Great food, knowledgeable and friendly staff and fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

A wonderful dinner and evening. Attentive but not intrusive wait staff. We (6 of us) enjoyed the wine paired dinner. The food was superb, compliments to the Chef.
