Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. We can host your intimate date, family dinner, business meetings, or larger parties in our banquet room. Or come enjoy a specially made cocktail in our bar area and a small bite.

My daughter & I each got the Daisy special last night in honor of the Benedum show Great Gatsby. It was a prosecco trio, 1 St Elder, 1 Creme de Violette, 1 Aperol - delicious! With our dinners - roasted beet arugula salad with salmon, tuna sashimi, and her shot of tequila, our share of the bill was $55. Very reasonable, great ambiance, and our server was responsive, personable, & funny. Perfect experience!

A Memorable Monday Night at Del Frisco’s – A Birthday Celebration Done Right We started the week with a birthday dinner at Del Frisco’s, and once again, the experience was absolutely exceptional. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, entertaining guests, or simply looking for a first-class dining experience, Del Frisco’s continues to set the gold standard with outstanding food, impeccable service, an elegant atmosphere, and incredible attention to detail. This evening was made especially memorable by our server, Kaylee—our first time having her take care of us—and she was truly phenomenal. From the moment we sat down, Kaylee brought warmth, professionalism, energy, and genuine hospitality to the table. She made my birthday guest feel incredibly special all evening long, and her attentiveness and thoughtful approach elevated our dinner from excellent to unforgettable. It’s rare to encounter someone who so naturally creates such a welcoming and celebratory atmosphere, but Kaylee absolutely did just that. The meal itself was spectacular. I started with one of my personal favorites, the crispy calamari, which never disappoints. For dinner, I enjoyed the New York strip cooked to absolute perfection with that classic Pittsburgh char, accompanied by the creamed corn and wild mushrooms—both outstanding sides that perfectly complemented the steak. My birthday guest was completely blown away by her entrée: a beautifully presented 12-ounce filet mignon paired with crab cake, lobster tail, and broiled shrimp. The presentation alone was impressive, but the flavor and quality took it to another level. Every bite reflected the consistency and excellence Del Frisco’s is known for. We paired the evening with classic cocktails before finishing with Del Frisco’s legendary butter cake—still, in my opinion, the best dessert anywhere. To close out the night, I enjoyed a pour of Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask Scotch, which was the perfect finish to an already flawless evening.
