The kitchen executes classic German dishes with precision—my companion enjoyed a perfectly prepared schnitzel topped with shaved black truffle and served alongside buttery potatoes. The dish struck the ideal balance between traditional comfort and refined execution. Another highlight was the beautifully composed fish course, presented with vibrant sauces and thoughtful plating that reflects the restaurant’s commitment to both flavor and visual presentation. Dessert was simple and elegant: house-made ice cream topped with fresh berries, the perfect finish after a leisurely lunch overlooking the vineyards and the Rhine valley. Of course, the star of the experience is the wine. We enjoyed a Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Kabinett Rotlack 2023, which showcased everything that makes Rheingau Riesling so compelling—bright acidity, delicate fruit, and remarkable balance. Service was warm, attentive, and professional without ever feeling rushed. Combined with the panoramic vineyard views and historic setting of Schloss Johannisberg, it creates a dining experience that feels both relaxed and special. Was very good but had a miscommunication about a milkshake 3 times. I tried to tell the waitress in German and English we wanted a strawberry milkshake and somehow we kept getting blueberry until we got someone else’s attention. She was very sweet regardless and the food was great as always
