Beautiful restaurant with stunning Derwent River & vineyard views.The original Shed was built on the Mt Nassau property in the early 1900's and met with it's demise in the 1967 bushfires. Built to replace the original Sheds were a Tractor and Shearing shed.In 2021 work began on "The Shed" Restaurant which has been built in the exact same footprint as the original Sheds and some of the wood from the old Shed were used to make the table bases.With our incredible head Chef Andrew Russell and our Restaurant Manager Jessica Johnson leading our team of wine and food experts, there is no better spot to sit and enjoy an amazing meal with awards winning wine.

    Absolutely fantastic experience at the new Sydney Hotel Irish Restaurant! The food was incredible, full of flavour and served quickly despite how busy the place was. The staff were friendly, attentive and provided outstanding service from start to finish. The atmosphere was lively, warm and welcoming — exactly what you want from a great Irish pub and restaurant. You can tell this place is already a very popular. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

    The Shed is a wonderful place to visit. Excellent food overlooking the Derwent River and the winery grounds only a short trip away from Hobart. We will go back soon…the wines are some of the best available in the state, in particular the Pinot Gris which has a cult like following from locals who know this wonderful drink.
