- JJeramievipSan Francisco Bay Area •12 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoMy husband and I took our son here for dinner while in DC for college tours. It was outstanding! We enjoyed sitting near the bar for the ambiance..nice lighting, lovely dark wood and styling. The food was perfect! We shared an assortment of a 1/2 dozen oysters and they were all fresh and delicious. The spicy sardines as an appetizer as well, which my son devoured. I had a crab cake, which was fantastic, texture, crab, seasoned all just right. My son and husband both had a lobster fra diavolo. They ate every bit and said it was very tasty... the pasta, sauce and lobster! I highly recommend the spot if you want a DC experience! It is a classic restaurant for a reason..from the other diners..you never know who will be there..to the food and location and ambiance. Mimi was our server and she was fabulous!More infoOld Ebbitt GrillPrice: Moderate• American• Downtown•4.8
- MMarelWashington, D.C. Area •25 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoAmazing food, service and ambiance. Zaytina is always a great choice for dinner. Now it’s our new favorite. We had a 5:45pm reservation and we’re seated immediately in a great booth for 2 near the bar. We wanted to order one of the tasting menus but we were told that the two of us couldn’t order just one tasting menu (which looked amazing). That was disappointing, but our waitress recommended a game plan with several dishes that she thought we would enjoy. To start she suggested we select three of the spreads to enjoy with those amazing puffy, paper thin, warm pitas that are served generously throughout the meal. The red pepper and feta dip along with the labneh were both surprisingly delicious! The babganoush wasn’t our favorite next time we’d order the hummus which our waitress recommended. Then the halloumi and cauli with seven spices, yum! The mezze shrimp made the combo surprisingly filling but we still had the eggplant and ground lamb shish kabob. Wow, a lot of food. The eggplant was disappointing because it was fried, I thought it was going to be grilled, but even so, if fried, it needs to be crunchy/crispy, not blondish and mushy. We ordered the eggplant because it was on that tasting menu. They can have one mediocre dish and still get 5 stars on food because the Pilsner beer was divine and so reasonable! One other food related issue for us, was our waitress had recommended a beet salad but it said smoky on the menu, so I was reluctant for us to to try we are not smoke fans but we love beet salads so we caved and she came over to find out how we liked the smoky flavor with the beets. We def need to avoid any future smoke! She immediately took away the beets and later removed them from our bill. Our waitress was having trouble with the next table. Don’t know what was happening because of the energetic vibe everywhere. But our waitresses and her recommendations worked out pretty perfectly for us overall and we made it to our 7:30 performance on time. Bravo!More infoZaytinya - DCPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Penn Quarter•4.7
- WWilliamvipPittsburgh / Western PA •14 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoFilomena Italian Restaurant in Washington, DC is a true gem! This Georgetown classic offers a fantastic menu of house-made classics, with homemade pastas that are simply outstanding. The accompanying entrées are delicious, with portions generous enough to satisfy the hungriest patrons. The decadent desserts are a must-try, and the drink selection is equally impressive, featuring great cocktails and wines. Our server was excellent—attentive, professional, and made the experience even more enjoyable. One thing you’ll immediately notice is the seasonal decorations throughout the dining room—they’re a treat in themselves! We will definitely be back for another amazing dining experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking top-tier food, service, and atmosphere!More infoFilomena RistorantePrice: Expensive• Italian• Georgetown•4.8
