    This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! We were in Victoria on a day-long tour and made a point to fit in tea at The Empress. The hotel is magnificent and the tea is an experience matched to the hotel's reputation and grandeur. Our server (Lorne) has been serving tea at The Empress for more than 30 years and he was simply the best-- so pleasant with many fun anecdotes to share for his years in the job. The tea itself was, of course, excellent. And the food was top notch. I've had tea at many fine hotels around the world and this one was very near the top of my list!

    We arrived at our scheduled reservation time and were immediately greeted and seated. Our Server was Exceptional! I told her it was my sister's Birthday treat and she had the kitchen make a sweet "Happy Birthday" chocolate pastille on the dessert tier. Service was perfect, neither hurried or forgotten about. The setting in the beautiful Butchart house is beautiful; we looked out onto the Private Garden. Water for tea was refreshed with perfect timing and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Tea at The Butchart Gardens

    We come here whenever we visit Victoria. We even book before we leave home. Kyle was our server last night. He’s pleasant and attentive and even funny if you engage with him. The food is always excellent.
