John’s Grill serves delicious food in one of The oldest restaurants in San Francisco. It is very atmospheric place with lively conversation and the menu always has many excellent choices. The Petrale Sole almondine is one of their specialties and comes with a generous portion of fish and vegetables. With a location right near the Powell Street station, this restaurant is perfect for groups, special occasions or a lunch with friends.

First time coming to Mastro’s and was amazed the moment I walked through the door. Service was amazing, the food breath taking in both presentation and taste. Can’t wait to return.

Visit was outstanding, there were so many people constantly helping us out, making sure our drinks were never empty & that we were doing well the whole time, there was never a dirty plate on the table for more than a minute. The food was genuinely the best food I’ve ever eaten & the prices were pretty decent. We ordered the deviled eggs which weren’t my favorite but you must try if you’ve never had them. I got the Porcini Gnocchi & my boyfriend got the Lamb Mixed Grill & both just melted in your mouth & were so flavorful. Beautiful plating too. I got the Brut & the Cabernet, both were delicious, they have a small cocktail menu but an extensive spirits, wine & beer menu. My boyfriend got the Seismic Kölsch beer & we both liked it a lot. We finished the meal with the new Brǔléed “Alaska” & though it was not what I was expecting, it was delicious & even though we were both very full, we somehow finished the whole thing. Overall, one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had, I highly recommend The Cavalier.
